LCS/Worlds Casting Champion Select music played on FOX for Football

Lightningfst··2 votes·6,022 views

I was watching the Dallas vs Arizona football game on FOX (11/2/2014) when during a very small segment towards the end of the 3rd quarter I noticed that they were playing the EXACT same music as is played during the champion select process in a LCS/Worlds broadcast.

So this begs the question, is the music being properly used by both Riot and FOX? Up until now I thought the music was unique to Riot League of Legends casting.

Hmm interesting. Do you happen to know where I could find that on some kind of video? Dan of our music team wrote that music, so I wouldn't know how they got to use that music piece. ;)

Maybe it was just music piece that sounded very similar, but not the same. =P Sometimes two pieces of music can sound the same despite not being the same.

I actually have heard the same thing. I can't remember what song it was but I KNOW I heard a song from the LCS on football a while back.

I know what you are talking about, but I heard no variations or differences (as would be necessary to avoid copyright infringement).

I don't know where I can find a replay of it, but I definitely heard it too. There was no mistake what it was either. They were showing a replay of something and it was playing lightly in the background.

NFL.com's Game Rewind service.

I've tried to find public video of it but I doubt it will be available without some sort of subscription service as the NFL prohibits rebroadcasts without express permission. NFL.com's Game Rewind service might be the ticket, although I am not sure if it will show the FOX broadcast of the game. They do have a 7-day free trial option, so might be worth checking out (if you don't cancel they will bill you $60).

Also, I am a longtime musician and what I heard I am absolutely certain was the exact same as Riot's eSports champion select music during broadcasts.

Also, I found what sounds like the music on SoundCloud under user DJ Kourrie titled LCS Champion Select Music. https://soundcloud.com/djkourrie

Game Rewind, just like Sunday Ticket, will utilize the full broadcast feed.

Just found an example here in this youtube video. I heard it being used again today on a Fox related video but I cant find it. The song comes in the very end of this video as the send off music.

Well obviously a Red cares so you're wrong on that front. Maybe it's just you who doesn't care, but saying that no one cares is just a complete and obvious lie there in all honesty there, so there's that at least.

It is about theft of copyrighted material. As a musician myself I would be pissed if someone ripped off my music and used it to make money.

they may have just stolen the music, lol. that happens sometimes.

If it was uploaded to Soundcloud...

"By uploading Your Content to the Platform, you also grant a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid up, licence to other users of the Platform... to use, copy, repost, transmit or otherwise distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, adapt, prepare derivative works of, compile, make available and otherwise communicate to the public, Your Content utilising the features of the Platform from time to time, and within the parameters set by you using the Services."

If I am interpreting this correctly, this means if it was allowed to be downloaded by Riot, it can be used without restriction.

I think I may have heard what the OP might be talking about during a game at Cleveland Browns Stadium. However, I came away thinking it was not something from the world of League of Legends, although it sounded pretty similar to something in the 2014 World Championship bundle, what specifically I don't remember.
