Does Omega Forces Teemo have a new voice actor?

I'm just curious.

There are a few subtle differences from the original set of lines to this new skin's dialogue.

It is indeed a new voice actor. and Strawberrycocoa is correct - Teemo's original voice actor was recorded many years ago and has since joined an Actors union. The way unions view League of Legend's and other frequently updated games (patches every 2 weeks) makes it very cost inefficient for us to use actors in a union. That is why there is a new Teemo actor. Hope this answer helps!

Sounds very similar though I honestly didn't think there was a difference! Good job guys.

Thanks for answering. I guess this means some major voice changes in the future?

So this new actor will also work on VOs if, let's say, you plan a VU for Teemo? (you may leak details if you want ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))

That sounds really sad for all parties involved. Riot can't hire union actors and union actors can't get hired by Riot and similar companies (well, not efficiently). One would expect the union to work this out, considering the F2P market is thriving.

If you don't mind me asking, whats's the difference between frequently-updated games and something like Borderlands where they just kind of give it to you in something like this? Doesn't seem like it makes that much change, but I don't really know the business.

Also, who is the new one? Was thinking it sounded like Kennen, but that could be coincidence.

I can tank this one, but my information about this is quite old.

When a new patch comes out for a video game, unions consider that an entirely new product (which is technically true), and any technicality that brings their members more money benefits them as well.

It mostly stems from actors not getting proper royalties when the home video market became a thing.

Same goes with using old voice performances with new skins. Unionized actors would want to get paid again since their performance is going in to an entirely new product.

Huh. I guess I could see it with videos, but the game patches seem like they break it a bit. Anyway, thanks for the info. Interesting bit.

Look at it this way: Let's say Meddler gets really, really drunk one night (he is Australian, after all) and decides to buff Teemo to astronomic levels on Live. Are you now playing the same game you were before?

This may sound silly Utora, but why doesn't Riot hire full time voice actors? Or do they? I guess you guys just do it when the need comes, but I think voice acting on top of other skills might be valuable to Riot. I don't know, just a thought. Kinda answered my question myself :P

Hhm. I'm kinda confused then, how did you get actors like Liam O' Brian (God bless that man and his voice) to record Yasuo's voice then? Or is he not part of an Actors union (Which would be strange given how much work he does).

Can you explain how unions treat frequently updated games? Do you have to pay royalties every time the game is updated or what? Seems weird that they haven't progressed to a point that makes sense with constantly updated games.

Teemo's original voiceover was recorded at League's beginnings, if it is the original VA they may sound different. Could also be the modulations.

Anything is possible, but this is why I'm asking the question to Rito. :)
