Lore

“I was normal once. Human. I grew up in a small village on the outskirts of a powerful kingdom. I don’t remember my old name, but remember what I looked like, shiny auburn hair, fair skin, bright, sea blue eyes. I had family, but I don’t remember what they looked like, if I had any brothers or sisters. I remember friends, rivals, a girl… The kingdom had always been peaceful, more focused on bringing the king’s wife back to life than on conquest. The king was obsessed with reviving his wife, and eventually...led to the kingdom’s downfall. He ordered his sorcerers to breach the veil between life and death. Upon breaking the great taboo of necromancy and sorcery, the castle and surrounding lands erupted in black mist, heralded by a wailing chorus of the dead. The sacred grove began to wither and change, even its greatest spirit would succumb to the mist’s power. The last thing I remember of that life, was how I would die. I took my father’s rifle, the rifle of a proud and honored hunter, from its case and ran to the town square to defend my home. The king himself, now a ghostly apparition, rode into the village, and slaughtered everyone. I remember the cold blade he held plunge into my chest. As I laid there,in a pool of my own blood , I remember seeing one last thing. The king stuck his blade into the ground, and from it a veil of black mist formed, covering the village, the castle, and other parts of his nation. The next thing I knew, I woke up in the castle, lying on a bed of stone. I was sure I had died. I checked my chest for the wound that had ended my life. I found nothing. I rose from the bed and wandered the corridors of the castle till I found a standing mirror in what had been the king’s study. The next thing I saw would haunt me for eternity. I didn’t recognize what I saw in the mirror. My once fair skin was now as pale as the snow of the Freljord. My shiny auburn hair, now a dull, dark brown. My eyes had lost all of their former warmth, and were now cold and sharp. And then, I saw them. A pair of curved horns now grew from head, and a set of monstrous wings had appeared in the center of my back; they were like a bat’s but tattered and shredded. I was horrified. I tried to run but then, I heard the voice. I heard the king’s voice. He told me that I was no longer dead, but was no longer alive as well. He then told me the new purpose of my existence. I was to act as his agent of power, for in the aftermath of his quest for life, he became trapped in the realm of the dead. I tried to refuse him, but he gave me one last piece of information before I was allowed to leave. He had stolen my humanity, and would only return it once he ruled all of Runeterra. For the meantime he would sleep, waiting for the veil between life and death to weaken. As for me, I was to create an army for his return and tear down any nations that would oppose him. And then, he slept. The door to his throne room opened as I processed what I had been told. I walked to the throne, feeling like a fragment of my former self. I prayed for death but knew they wouldn’t come. Undeath was the bane of their existence. I entered the throne room and there I saw them and knew they were mine. A pair of giant hunting dogs sat on either side of the throne. One was white with cold blue eyes, and took great pride in it’s appearance. The other dog had obviously seen battle. He was black and brown, covered in scars. His eyes were a burning red. I named the dogs. The white one was my Pride, the scarred my Wrath. I walked up to the throne and saw my father’s rifle sitting in it. It had all seven of the bullets that I had loaded into it prior to the explosion. The rifle itself had changed. The barrel was now made of a twisted black metal that remained cold to the touch no matter what the heat of the room was. The lever action trigger curved to a jagged point. The bullets had all changed to the same black metal of the barrel, and had a pentagram carved into their tops. No matter how twisted and dark the weapon was now, it was my hope, my one hope to remain anchored to my past life. I placed the rifle on the right side of the throne and sat down. There I plotted. I would serve the king until he would cross back into the realm of the living. Then I would have my revenge, and take back what is mine. Until then I would serve him, as his Prince of Sin. Until then I would be darkness’s shadow. Until then, I would be Tenebris Umbra. Until then, I would serve the King of the Broken Crown. The castle would be my home, and I would travel to the mainland with my hounds. There I would see the fall of nations, the beginning of wars, the death of many. I would kill and raise knights. Denounce false idols. I would raise the king’s army with a horrific plot. First would be our Harrowing, and next… our Bloody Harvest…”

Just to get the comments rolling, give me some feedback! I have another paper copy of champion I've been working on. He doesn't have completed lore yet but I have his abilities written out, and I personally think they could add some new elements to what a champion can do!

Lore is outdated given the latest Shadow isles story update.

Passive: seems a bit like Viegar's, except it boosts more stats and is relatively more difficult to exploit early-game.

Q: I can understand the basic effect, but I'm not sure I understand how the stacks themselves work. I gather that the more enemies you hit at once with it, the more powerful your next basic attack, but I'm not sure I understand the second paragraph about "damage based on damage dealt when Gluttony was consumed".

W: So does Wrath go out first and then Pride comes back down the line, or do the two just move at once in opposite directions when the ability is cast? And is the general effect that it's supposed to corral enemies into the center of the line, because that seems to be what it would be most likely to do.

E: So... basically this guy is a nightmare to confront in melee if he has high mana reserves. Got it.

R: Sounds like a mix of Xerath's and Jhin's ults except it allows more shots and can't be interrupted- should probably have a bit of a shorter range than the above and still allow him to take damage in exchange. From what I understand the initial shots don't deal much damage, but when the ult is over all the stacks are consumed and that's when the health chunking happens.

I understand that the lore is outdated. I wrote this back when Kindred first came out and wasn't paying attention to the lore, my mistake.

I know I just posted about how the lore is outdated for Shadow Isles, but I am now hoping I could get some feedback on how I can correct while retaining the majority of the internal thought. (finding the dogs and the rifle, seeing his altered appearance, plotting vengeance, etc.)
