So Hextech Crafting is coming and the current game mode that only grant champion mastery is Summoner Rift but what about players who play ARAM only.

  • do the game try to force them to play normals ?
  • why don't grant aram players champion mastery points too ?

How the system works Finish a game of League and you’ll earn points for your champion based on your team’s performance as well as your own contribution. Earn enough points and you’ll level up that champ’s mastery level, giving you rewards as you progress.

ARAM game length is shorter than normal but KDA is higher so it will just need a lil balance to be fair even if less than Normal it will be fine by me as long I gain mastery points from playing.

RIOT Please :D Thanks.

Mastery (and Crafting by extension) definitely should be in all permanent game modes. After all, Mastery measures time spent playing a particular champion, and champions aren't limited to specific modes. Unfortunately, from the Crafting Q&A, it doesn't look like Riot wants to add Mastery to ARAM.

do the game try to force them to play normals ? Explicitly, yes.

I understand your concern! If Summoner's Rift isn't your preferred place to play League, I can see how you'd wonder - is this system is going to force you to play Summoner's Rift if you don't want to?

The answer is yes - if you want to earn chests you'll need to play a minimum of one game of SR per chest to demonstrate mastery so you can get your Champion Mastery chest! Your skill and teamwork is what determines if it takes you one game, or ten.

For keys? You can earn those in any matchmade map. So if ARAM is your thing go for it!

We understand this system won't be ideal for all players (no system is) but we have tried to strike a balance where we are rewarding players for demonstrating mastering across many champions (which for now is SR only) while simultaneously increasing the rewards for winning games in all matchmade queues.

Sadly Riot is convinced only the rift matters since it's what the pros all do. I play a ton of ARAM, and would love to see added features like these, but Riot needs to focus on what generates money and right now it's the LCS.

Isn't ARAM to random to determine skill ? I mean 90% it comes down to which team has the better comp.
