[Champion Concept} Zzoltor the Forsaken Darkin
ZZoltor is an AP mid-lane/support, who specializes in zoning out his enemies while landing constant damage from any angle. Not very artistic. Imagine a shorter, sky blue version of Aatrox with his wings cut off.

Passive: Dark Insight
Rather than having mana, ZZoltor has a bar which fills similar to Rengar's. After landing 5 ricochet abilities (Read Q and W), ZZoltor's gains extra CDR, ignoring the CDR cap for 15 seconds, (2-20%, gaining 1% per level, one point falling off every 3 seconds). This may not seem like much early levels, with Intelligence masteries and max CDR, that's a total of 65% CDR late game. NOTE landing any ricochet's while the passive is active WILL NOT add any additional time to the passive.
Q: Archaic Blast
- 600 Range
- 85/120/150/170/210 (60% AP ratio) Damage
- 10%/15%/20%/25%/30% bonus damage per rebound
- 10/9.5/9/8.5/8 second cool-down
Archaic Blast is a medium range, medium damage skill shot, which can bounce off of walls. If the skill-shot hits the wall, the range is refreshed (600 units from where it hits the wall), gains bonus damage, and adds a point to his passive. the bonus damage is capped at 5 rebounds. (only idea which wasn't 100% mine. Saw a post about a rebound mechanic a while ago on the forums, and thought it was interesting. Forgot who suggested it though.)
W: Reflection
- 450 Range
- 350/385/425/465/500 Width
- 70%/85%/90%/110%/135% (1% AP ratio) Damage
- 30/27/24/21/17 cool-down
Operates similar to a Yasuo wind-wall in that he summons a wall which interacts with projectiles. However, rather than deleting the projectile entirely, the ability ricochets the projectile back to wherever the enemy was standing at the time which the wall is hit. Lock on spells reflected will lock on to the person who cast them. Abilities which hit the wall does a % of damage based off of the abilities total damage (Base + scaling). If the ricochet hits an enemy, a point is added to his passive. If an ability hits an enemy champion, it applies on-hit passives from YOUR abilities, not the enemy abilities. For example, if you have a Liandry's, and the enemy has a Rylai's, the spell will ONLY apply the Liandry's. Abilities such as Zed's shadow are shot back towards the caster, but any spells shot out of the shadow will still function as normal. If you press W a second time, your wall allows your Q to bounce off of it. This allows you to still land your increased Q damage in open areas, but in order for the bounce to be effective, the wall won't be blocking anything except for a poorly planned enemy gank.
E: Demonic Phase
- 275 Range flash 300 Range attack
- 50/70/90/110/130 (25% AP ratio) Damage (4 targets)
- 15/14/13/12/11 cool-down
Demonic Phase is a short range blink, which damages 4 units within 300 units from where Zzoltor appears. If 4 units are not within range, the leftover shots will target the units within range, doing 40% damage. If only 1 person is in range, the target will take all 4 shots.
Infernal Prison
- 250 unit radius, expands from where Zzoltor is. (Square shaped)
- 200/300/400 damage (55/65/80 AP ratio)
- 100/80/60 cool-down
- Lasts 6 seconds
Infernal Prison is a square, flaming barrier that erupts from Zzoltor. Once it is cast, it expands, damaging all units it passes through. Once it hits its maximum radius, the flames remain for 6 seconds, damaging all units who pass through it. blinking through the ult won't damage the enemy, but dashes will. Units can be damaged a maximum of 2 times. Zzoltor's Q can ricochet off of the walls of his ultimate. Also, if Zzoltor passes through the wall, he gains a short burst of 30% movement speed for 3 seconds.
Lore
Have a decent lore, but with the lack of information Riot has out on Darkin's, I can't get a completed lore finished. However, my basic theory for the champion is that he was a rouge Darkin, who plotted to overthrow... whatever government the Darkin had. However, he was stopped, and in punishment, had his sword taken from him, his wings cut off, and was banished, probably by the only other Darkin champion Aatrox. Enraged, Zzoltor traversed the lands, learning long forgotten magic and gaining followers until he finally was strong enough to confront Aatrox and his followers. The ensuing fight left the Darkin homeland in ruins and killed off most of its population. The fight ended with Aatrox tackling Zzoltor over a cliff, presumably killing Zzoltor, while Aatrox flew away, leaving him and only 4 of his followers alive. However, unknown to anyone, Zzoltor survived, and began gathering more power, until the day he finally revealed himself, joining the Institute of war until he can kill Aatrox, and complete his vengeance.
Play-Style
Zzoltor is best played either in mid lane, where you can keep constant damage on his opponent with his CDR passive and low cool-downs, or as a support, where he can wall to block projectiles from your carry while still having decent poke. If you want to all in, you should try and max your passive off of minions, then E in, and ult. This gives your ult the reduced cool-down while trapping your opponent, forcing them to flash/use blink abilities, or to walk/dash through the ult and take double the ult damage. Then you can place a W in the center, while ricochet your Q off of the walls. At max level, your W will be have the same width as the ult walls (Horizontally/vertically, not diagonally). Although an enemy can walk through your W, you can use your enhanced cool-down to shift between sides of the wall, to prevent the enemy from landing most spells, wile keeping damage on him. Plus, by ricocheting your Q off of the wall you can get bonus damage on your casts, or just shoot directly at him for more reliable, weaker damage. In team fights, either engage and ult to zone the enemy away from your carries, or use your W to keep your carries alive longer.
Recommended Items
Despite your ult forcing you to get in close range to your enemy, Zzoltor is still relatively squishy. Get some healthier items such as Rod of Ages and Rylai's to stay alive. Start Also, grabbing 45% CDR is super Important with your passive. A Zhona is recommended. Also, your AP, get a Rabadon's.
Skin Suggestions
His starter skin should be Elemental Zzoltor (= to or less than 975), giving him green skin, and changing his abilities, so his Q appears to be a vine-like strike, his W a water wall, and his E attack appear to be gusts of air. His ult also should become green fire. No voice changes.
Matchups
Strong against
Veigar
Veigar relies on killing minions and landing spells on champions in order to snowball. However, reflection is a good way to deny CS, and make it so he can't Q you very easily. Plus, late game, if you wall his ultimate, you can one shot him with his own ultimate. Which would be cool.
Zed
Zed's shadow allows him to land substantial poke off from far distances. If you wall out his shadow, it becomes much harder for zed to land any poke off. Also, if he tries to all in you, once his ult finishes you can ult and W, forcing him to either fall back, making it much weaker, or stay to try and get his ult to do more damage, but get in range of most of your abilities.
Ahri
Although her ultimate makes her hard to kill for ANYONE past six, her boomerang Q guarantees a hit if you wall it, and you can charm her directly into and then shift in and ult to force her to stay and fight, or dash through the wall and take the bonus damage.
Weak against
Azir
Due to the nature of Azir's kit, your wall is only useful against his Q. Plus, if you shift off of them, you probably won't be able to throw a wall up fast enough before Azir Q's them back on to you.
Fizz
Since fizz has almost no skill.. I mean skill shots the best you can do is just W his wall back at him. Plus, because of his extreme mobility its hard to land a ricochet Q on him, and he can stick on you if you try to stick on him in your ult. Finally, his playful/trickster allows him to jump through your ult without taking any damage if he has to flee.
Malzahar
None of his abilities are able to be blocked by your wall, and with his incredibly high scaling on his abilities, all he has to do is land a Q and combo you and you have to shift away, if he hasn't already killed you.
6/4
- champions Zzoltor is strong and weak against
- Made it so W can be pressed a second time to solidify
- small increase to Q damage
