My one issue with Hextech crafting.

Hey! Has anyone hit honor 5 and have like.. 6 keys sitting for a long time, and progressively stacking more with pretty much nothing to use it on, or maybe you get lucky and get a hero capsule! ....with nothing in it. Nice. Irritating, right? Next log in, oh great. 2 more key fragments. Just what I wanted. Yay, my 7th key, time to throw a party. The issue here is that honor gives wayy too many keys but nothing to use it on. Note, this is more of an issue for people that don't have every champion, or only play a select few champions

So, for starters, let's discuss the chest system the way it is now. For every OWNED champion (Not including free rotation) you or a teammate get an S- or higher, you get a chest for that champion, but only one. Theoretically, you can get 100+ chests if you're good at a ton of champions (and own them all) or have a ton of friends / get lucky in queue with people that do well. And here's when the issues come in. The chests reset with the season, which is about yearly so we don't have long left to wait for the chests to reset (sometime early November) But, I have solutions.

The issue: Amount of chests you get. Self explanatory, mainly explained in last paragraph. I understand, this adds more incentive to play other champions and expand your variety, but solution 1 might be a better way to help. Solution 1: More chests the higher your mastery is. To do this effectively, the chests per week count will have to be increased (For example's sake, let's say 10). If you're mastery 6, you get 2 chests for that champion instead of 1, and 7 gives you three. If the maximum chests you get is 10, that player would have to play 3 different mastery 7 champions to get 9 chests, then have to step out their comfort of those 3 champions and try something new. Solution 2: Reset chests more often. If chests are reset more often, people are more likely to want to play league of legends for the incentive of having a chest. I know, the Riot staff need a way to put food on the table, but hear me out. Let's say the chest count is reset every 2 weeks. This means that people will want to play more often, rather than just the month before the season's end (October). Not only that, but people wont want to buy a chest that just gives them a crappy skin shard for a champion they don't want, and can't reroll because, well, that 1 chest limit. If you give players more chances to try to feel the thrill of "winning" they will feel more comfortable with buying more chests after they reach that limit, and might enjoy the idea of putting some cash into the game to try and get some skins. Not only that, but it corresponds to the chest limit decreasing every week. If combined with solution 1, we will see issues spring out of that, as well as some really good things happening. Solution 3: Have a way to burn the keys Honor gives a ton of keys and no way to "burn them" (I don't mean waste them, I mean a way to actually use them on something). Maybe include another way of using the keys (I don't have any ideas for this, so I'll leave your mind to wander on this one.) or adding a hextech chest as a honor reward (fairly rare, but have it be a thing that can happen)

Thank you for reading. I know there are some issues with this, but I wouldn't mind having a (slightly) lower chance of things we actually want in exchange for more chances to actually attempt this "gatcha". I hope you can see where I'm coming from with this. I'm not nitpicking the crafting system, I think it's a fun thing to have, but I think a few tweaks will help it be more rewarding for honorable players, and a bit more 'enjoyable'.

The game in general gives way too many keys. I've only got honor level 4 and have gotten only 2-3 capsules, but I've had a stockpile of keys even before the honor system changed.

When I have enough keys to open my 20-something chests I'll share your concerns.
