Should Riot Implement A More Secure Login System?

It has come to my attention that there isn't visibly any strong precautions keeping our accounts safe. All we have to do to login in, is simply input our username and password, and voila! So, there really isn't that much keeping hackers away. They could easily just obtain our usernames from in game, and then use their new found information to hack our accounts.

Personally, I think implementing a verification option within an app, that is linked to your personal account, would be golden. or Perhaps an option that allows us to login with our emails instead of usernames.

What do you guys think? Let me know below, I can't wait to see what you guys come up with.

Summoner Name and username should be different in the first place.

Additionally, requiring email authentication for logins from a new device seems fair. Lots of services do this, and it works fairly well.

I've tried proposing applications or text authentication before, but the problem with that is not everybody has access to a phone. Email is appropriate because players must have access to a computer in the first place if they are playing the game, thus they should be able to check email and authenticate.
