Inspiration Keystone Idea -- Ghost Recall

Ghost Recall:

Recall's channel time is reduced by 0->4 seconds (from levels 1-18). ~.222 seconds per level

Additionally, recalling leaves a ghost at your location, which provides vision and soaks experience. The ghost will continue to provide vision and experience soak until next time you recall or until you tag the ghost. Tagging the ghost gives you any gathered experience. Experience from the same source will not stack (you can't lane next to your ghost and double the experience gain)


I'd imagine this Rune helping:

  1. Losing lanes: you need to recall but have a huge wave that will crash into tower.

  2. Roamers: I can recall mid or top then roam bot, and although losing gold if the other laner shoves into turret, I can regain experience that the ghost soaks up.

  3. Splitpushers: faster back timing helps defend the base or get out of sticky situations.

The vision would also allow a different option or late game alternative, should you want to recall in front of dragon (or riskier positions in general) in order to have vision there until you want to cash out experience or next time you recall.

Note: Baron would reduce your current recall channel time by 50% (caps out at 4 sec (lvl18) -> 2 sec)

Honestly, I think that the second effect is good enough. The first effect seems a little bit overkill, especially with Baron buff: Two seconds gives enemies pretty much no time. Maybe shortening the recall to a flat 6 seconds (3 with baron) would be better.

The experience soak and vision would be fine if it didn't stick around forever. May as well let mid go bot, recall, then soak of xp from two lanes.

Which would create more than just balance problems now that I think about it.
