Co-op vs AI modifications (suggestions)

As we all know, League of Legends' AI is not the greatest. I think Riot created this game mode just to let the new players play against weaker enemies before going into PVP. But, a lot of players, including me, still enjoy playing AI even though we are no longer beginners at this game.

The main point of this discussion is to ask Riot if it would be possible to make the AI stronger, because for players like me, Co-op vs AI is still fun, but after a few games, it gets boring, since it is too easy (even the hardest mode). I read some other discussions about AI, and some people said that Riot didn't want to spend their time on the AI since the majority of players play PVP, and I totally agree.

The idea that I came up with is that the Doom Bots mode is already created, and if Riot doesn't want to spend too much time strengthening the AI, they could just put Doom Bots (partially) back in the game.

Now, we all know that Riot wants to keep its special game modes for special occasions, but my point is that the AI could just have stronger abilities than the players, not necessarily OP, like the Doom Bots, but just stronger.

It would be, in my opinion, the easiest way to get better AI for Co-op vs AI players, because programming an AI that can jungle/build/fight and go for the objectives (turrets, baron, etc.) like a gold player, for example, can be really hard to do. I'm a beginner in coding and I tried making an AI for a simple game that I made, it took me so long. I can't even imagine how long it would take to create a "good" one for a game like League of Legends.

I just want Riot to see this idea as a simple and fast add to the Co-op vs AI game mode.

Another point came up while I was typing this down, and it's about mastery levels. I haven't read so much about this topic, so I don't know if Riot answered it already, but I thought it would be cool if Riot could add the Mastery system to Co-op vs AI, because getting a Mastery 5 on any champion means that you are experienced with it, or at least that's how I see it, and by playing Co-op vs AI, you're getting more and more experienced with the champion you're playing with, pretty much the same as PVP.

Maybe Riot sees the Mastery levels as a reward for playing a champion in a lot of PVP games, but anyone can be Mastery 5 with a champion and still be bad with that champion, so Riot added Mastery 6 and 7, which can be obtained only by being good with the champion.

My point is that Riot could let us, the Co-op vs AI players, grind to Mastery 5, and not above, in Co-op vs AI. Also, since the game mode is easier than PVP, players should earn a lot less mastery points after a Co-op vs AI game than after a PVP game. I think this would give the players a goal since there's not really any goal while playing Co-op vs AI.

Let me know what you guys think about this.

Hi,

+1

I play only Coop VS AI since 5 years : friendly game, good atmosphere, possibility to use exotic builds or play "out of meta" pick... I play for chill so why play with eventual toxic players in competitive games (even in normal game) ? Bots don't insult, troll, ragequit, lag, surrend...

That's enough for me, i only need to be up-to-date when i watch esport scene (test new patch, test new champion,...).

I agree, the intermediate level is annoying now, we need better.

There are players who think that a MOBA is exclusively PVP, why restrict it to that ? A PVE aspect is totally viable.

To be honest, i'm waiting for the next MOBA which will highlight the Coop mode with a real PVE challenge.

Today, Dota 2 and Heroes of the storm have better AI, why it can not be the same for League of Legend ? Without wishing to be unpleasant, i don't think Riot team has skills to propose a better AI right now.

But i think it's possible to have an "advanced" level without change AI algorithm in first time : add Gold / EXP / Stats / Cooldown bonus, etc... In fact, "advanced" level would be a level between intermediate and Bots of doom.

I'll be grateful to Riot if they could answer that.

Regards.

hi i was in a co op game and imo the biggest isue with bots is that they get out pushed , they leave a lane really early as they don't fight to the dead and just recall, there farming skills aren't great and because they recall early when low on health the miss out a lot of CS (lose out on a lot of gold)

(only bot with decent gold was the support cous of the gold item)

the beginning stage is harder to get kills on them as you need to outsmart them to get a kill but you can even lead them true the jungle if you on purpose get low on health so they goin to follow you and then make them move around your tower for an easy kill.

or like some ppl like to follow the bots around the tower because they recall between the first and the second tower instead of staying at the tower where they are usually safer.

still these are about AI and are exploids ppl use to get kills (gold) early on in the game. and this makes the bots lose more and more gold and they end up under leveld and with a gold disadvantage witch make them easy targets later on.

if you can make a system (like gold in comming items or even a passive for bots to get levels faster when behind /get gold even without getting minions. this would up the difficulty of bot a lot . since especially in the late game they can screw ppl over with there combo ults as they are programmed perfectly on eachother to focus down 1 person in an instant but then they usually burn to many ults at once leaving them vurnoble for the 4 other human players.
