Support roles ELO Hell, Idea to help
I prefer to be a support main ie I am a big time Sona player, I am not a great player by any means currently in Bronze 5. Here is my issue, I can play just as well in silver league as I can in bronze 5, however because I am a support player and play a champion that can't hyper carry I am dependent on getting put on a decent team that believes in teamwork if that doesn't happen the game is a loss, which sadly happens way to much. Teamwork is very important and it seems most Bronze players don't get that. I do get mostly S's, A's and B's even on loses I have gotten S's which tells me it's not me. Because this happens so often I go and play mid and jungle as well, in mid I play AP champions, in the Jungle I play mostly tank classes. I find in these roles I have troubles as once again I have really bad luck when getting placed on teams and end up with the players who don't like to play with teamwork, or all lanes fail in the game I jungle in at the same time and then they blame the jungle player for the loss because we can't be everywhere at once or I get teams the when we do group up, since I play a tank class most of the time, when I engage in a team fight rather then my team jumping in to help they run and leave me to die and that's why I don't like jungle role. When I play mid well the other teams jungle ganks but my jungler doesn't, that's the bad luck I get. I know may of you will just say, whine, whine, whine, stop crying and uninstall the game.
Well I have noticed something over the years playing this game which I do like except for the ELO hell I am in and that is that League of Legends seems to track just about everything which leads me to my idea to help Support players but not just support but everyone.
Here is my thoughts for whatever it is worth.......
Instead of moving players up and down the ladder by the wins and loses use how well they perform and work with there team IE are they getting S's and A's a lot or C's and D's move players up and down the ladder by this instead C's and D's go down based on how bad B's stay about where they are and A's and S's move up based on which they get. Still give rewards for wins but grade the players based on performance and include in that if they are playing with the team or not because if they just go solo and kill the weak champions when they can catch them out, make there grade lower, but if they work with the team give them higher grades which I think is already a part of the grading scale used now with the kills and assists they tell a lot. Well I know this idea will get slapped down and ignored but I just wanted to voice my current opinion because I bust my butt to move up and the get really bad teammates for a long period of time and knocked back down. I do have bad games but most of my bad games are because my team as a whole fails and because I play champions like Ziggs in the mid he moves so slow junglers and assassins rush in and blow him up before I can do anything. As far as when I play Sona if I get a bad adc I can't do much when they get hit by ever shot fired at them as it uses up my mana so fast I would have to go back constantly and then when I go back they die anyway; In Bronze this is common and is why I give this suggestion.
