Arzabel the barricader.
Arzabel the barricader. pronounciated as: ar tsah bel
role: support.
This original champion concept has been brought onto me when i talked about fencing weapons in a chat, someone said 'why would you want to build fences out of weapons' to wich i responded; you build weapons out of fences. then as i pictured someone wielding a pointy fence as a weapon i emediately felt i had a golden new weapon idea.
I would prefer Arzabel to be a support. His whole game is to be anti-focus, or atleast early, and later become a trapper, good in chases, or setting up ambushes.
Arzabel would wield a reasonably carryable fence with his hands in front of his chest a bit like a gargoyle statue has plates in its hands sometimes, in other skins perhaps more silly items such as a big spooky skeleton or something for halloween, god knows. Obviously a Fence wont block projectiles, but its good against melee. He would be able to be played in different itemroles making him stronger in different fields.
weapontype: Fence. Yes an actual pointy graveyardfence shaped fence. Appearance: A squarish figure holding a (incanted?) fence in front of him. I dont know if making him humanoid is the best idea, a floating square demonic statue held up and controlled by a spirit could also work perhaps, and be more iconic.
Auto attack range: 500 (melee with fence weapon) melee style: straight frontal push/bash with fence weapon.
health: 605 - 2140 attack damage: 58 - 117 health regen: 7.0 - 16.0 attack speed: 0.590 mana: 351 - 1290 armor: 25.7 - 88.0 mana regen: 6.1 - 20.0 magic resist: 35.5 - 58.0 melee: 126 movement speed: 339
Passive: Deflecting blows. Every fifth melee (not ranged) hit on Arzabel will be blocked and damage will be negated, the counter for this will raise no matter who deals the melee hits and will not dissipate.
Q: Spike prep: Plant down the fence in a defensive position pointed diagonally toward the target, impact with an enemy champion will stun them for 1.5 seconds and deal 40/80/100/130/180 (+50%ad) damage. CD: 10/12/14/16/18. mana: 60. duration: 2s passive: Weight debuff: If multiple people walk into the Spike prep the stun and damage will hit them for only half the amount.
note: this skill makes Arzabel crouch down to plant the weapon fence, thus also halting him in his own movement briefly, this skill would be used as a manner of throwing yourself between an enemy trying to rush toward your lanemate/carry and if they persist in trying to walk through you they get stunned and damaged for it.
W: Fence block: Plants the fence in front of him making it block enemy movement similar to anivias icewall, except for that this fence can be targetted as a pet/plant and destroyed. untill it is destroyed it persists for 20 seconds, it has reasonable hp. Wall length: 350/500/580/650/750 Wall hp: 20/70/100/150/200 (+15 for every 10AP, +20 for every 10Ad) CD: 20/18/17/15/14 mana: 70/80/90/100/120 note: after the planting of a fence Arzabel materializes a new fence in his hands. This skill has simple counterplay in destroying the fence, though in the confusion of a teamfight it will do its job, its hp bonus when built ap makes you trade in damage on other skills but could be worth it in lategame.
E: Ricochet guard: For a short period forces ranged melee attacks to ricochet off Arzabels fence weapon dealing direct equal damage to enemy attackers and none to Arzabel. (ranged only) (mechanics similar to sivir shield) Duration: 0.5/1.0/2.0/2.5/3.0 CD: 40/35/30/25/20 mana: 70/100/140/180/200 passive: Tainted steel: Every 10 AP ratio deals 10 bonus damage on ricochet guard triggers.
note: this skill forces Arzabel into the support role, wich is important balancewise. It is useless top jungle and mid as neither role tendency there will hit you hard enough to make a difference. It is best used in the heat of battle or during chase attempts as the graphics for this skill should be obvious, so people know very well Arzabel is using it. Perhaps make the shield shine bright yellow for counterplay. It would make it hard for a adc to finish off Arzabel with that last shot under tower if its not on CD, wich is the point of the skill in intelligent play, but also against those who relentlessly harass the support in lane making Arzabel a strong counter pick against such champions that excell to that end such as cait.
R: Cage fence: Lays down a trap fence flat on the ground, if an enemy champion walks over it it is snared for 4 seconds inside a destructable metal cage. This trap persists for 3 minutes. (mechanics similar to teemo shrooms but without the slow) Damage: 180/240/340 (+80%Ad +20%AP) Cage health: 100/180/250. CD: 200 note: all opponents can damage the cage, that includes the person trapped. If the support is built with ad scaling the trap will deal considerably higher damage. The cd makes it impossible to drop more than one early, but lategame with cdr items you will be able to drop two at once, even creating elongated setups to catch people fleeing through the jungle. These cage fence traps have reasonably larger size and activation range; about twice as large as the direct proxomity on a teemo shroom.
Itembuild ideas: Arzabel would scale well with tankyness and ap if he wants to go anti kite, though dropping his melee output he will become somewhat of a damageward to his lanemate and obstruction to the enemy champions focussing him. If built cdr and ad he will scale into being more of a metal jacket trapper rather than ward, boosting his trap damage and making him more of an ambusher for ad nukes.
The way this champion is built makes him very dynamic in what sub-role you want to cover; ambushes or straight anti-kite support.
Thanks for reading this champion concept, probably the last one for a long while from my hand. -ihaveapotion. p.s. sorry i cant draw anymore so no super duper fancy art boosting the upvotes by 500 a minute.
