Congratulations to everyone! The September CCOS results are here!

...with a bit of a caveat.

I've been following this contest for about eight months now. When ArmaMalum was calling it quits, he sent out an email to prior judges asking if they were interested in being the new host. I tossed my hat in the ring, but the hosting position went to BigBenClockTower. This wouldn't really be a problem, but those of you who have kept up will have no doubt noticed the tardiness in the last two months and his total absence this month after posting the contest.

This is honestly unacceptable. As such, I'm the host now. I'm not going to let the contest die because someone can't be bothered to keep to their own timeline.

First, the judges. If you emailed BigBen to judge this month, sorry - his total lack of contact means I wouldn't even have the foggiest clue what's going on there. However, we still have two this month:

Echoing. Pretend to be surprised. Raxistaicho. Actually be surprised! When I was planning this, I got in touch with Raxi and asked him to drop out to help judge. This was super considerate of him and not at all required - give this guy a hand.

With that done, the winner of the September CCOS is...

**Aldron, the Snow Wraith, by gemini333, with a total of 185/200 points! ** Congratulations! Maybe the bad future can be averted after all!

Coming in second place (and deep down we're just as wounded), Lenore, the Dreamweaver, by Vorazun, with a total of 184/200 points!

In third place, making a surprise hit from Vorazun's referral, Alto, the High Flyer, by Shigure, with a total of 175/200 points!

In fourth place, bouncing back from the horrors of literally being 10 champions at once, NOVA, the Stargazer, by Candurill, with a total of 154/200 points!

And in fifth place, still rocking to the beat of his own drum, Ludwig, the Bearer of the Strings, by iKratosKlayton, with a total of 142/200 points!

Since this is something of a coup, I don't quite have access to the CCOS archive. I'll try to get that worked out in the meantime, however - don't fret if you didn't make the top 5!

You can access my grading sheet here, and you can access Raxi's grading sheet here. When you're done recoiling in the horror that is me being beaten at my own game of harsh criticism and scoring (holy shit, Raxi), you can go ahead and ask questions - we'll both be watching this thread.

And now I begin the scary part of getting the October CCOS ready without having any resources or nice boilerplate posts or anything. Hoo boy. I'm all for having more help in judging - if you're interested, shoot me an email at "[email protected]" with your summoner name. If you're still good for another contest, great! Just make sure your concept is posted either in September or October, and you are good to go.

I'll open up the entry thread October 3rd. Keep an eye out, and keep creating. As a spoiler: I'm going back to the scoresheets ArmaMalum used while he was running the contests, consisting of Lore, Flow/Fun, Design Implementation, Novelty, Cohesiveness, and the return of the Good Neighbor Bonus. The scoresheets used for this contest are horrifically inflexible, too general, and don't even have a nice rubric.

I wish you the best of luck.

Hey everyone, I'm here. Sorry for flaying some all of you :'D

As expected my big downfall was the lore department. First time writing some so im pretty happy with how it went anyway :).

Question, I'm new to this process, even though I've posted an indepth champion concept before. One has to submit an entry on the entry thread, or simply say that they want in on the competition and the judges will find your entry?

Kinda tired of second place...all the technicalities x.x

So this is more a question for next months comp. I'm working on 2 concepts that relate and reference each other heavily (think Renekton/Nasus, Rengar/Kha'Zix etc) especially in their lore which is basically their individual roles in a certain event. I'll have to post both around the same time for them to make sense but is this sort of thing fine and would i be able to enter them in 2 seperate comps?

5th place, I'm cool with that!

Uhh, raxi I think you made a mistake. The concept indeed had numbers, they were just at the bottom of the post.

Welp, I was wondering why BigBen never replied to my mails. Does anyone know if something major happened to him or did he just forget ?

Candurill9/28/2016, 7:08:35 AM1 votes

Ah crap I'm getting a bad reputation now x.x "It's a Candurill champion, so I know to expect some crazy shit here." XD Seriously?

No but I agree with most of the points you and Rax mention. I'm actually rather surprised that NOVA came into the top 5 at all XD I already posted the concept im entering for next month. The thing with my concepts is that I want to try new things and test the limits of the game. The next concept wont be as crazy as NOVA though XD

On the matter of the contest ownership, I really respect you for jumping in the ring when bigben vanished (I do really hope nothing serious happened to him and this is just general tardiness....) I believe that we could have no better host then you, since you have been very consistent with you involvement the past 8 months. You give strikt feedback (I would like it if you'd stop beating my concepts to pulp with it, but then again, getting a good comment/grade from you would mean so much more then if someone was positive all the time).

Anyway, good luck with everything and may Sham'as light guide you ;D

I wana enter the next one.... this could be fun and my champ might get a chance to stay afloat.

How did I deserve a perfect 25 score on Effort and yet earned barely ANYTHING on the rest? I've really tried and worked really hard on it only to see it torn to shreds.

I swear, it makes the critiques on my first champion concept look more praised than this one.

So just wondering can we bring up older concepts to the contest? Like if we posted a concept a while back but made another post/reposted it in time for the contest, either improved or staying the same, can that still be entered? Also I can already suppose that only one concept can be entered per contest, like you can't enter the same concept twice in a row?
