A More Customizable Rift
This can also work with other maps, of course.
Voice Announcer Packs
We've seen this idea pitched plenty of times before, but it definitely mixes in well with the overall theme of what I'm proposing here.
Character voice packs - The first and only one that has had a spotlight as the announcer in their very own Lore/In-game event has been Gangplank, and it was a fun change! Now, how letting that become an option for any and all maps, BUT also adding in other champion's voices with their own flairs.
-
For instance, executing with a turret caused Gangplank to say "Took the coward's way out!" Now imagine what your main might say instead?
-
There can even be other types of announcers, such as the Arcade announcer that you hear say "KO" when Riven is defeated, only he'll be saying that about all of your enemies. Might be a nice little touch to add that super-enthusiastic voice you find in your typical 2-D fighting games into League. Upon starting a match, or minions spawning: "Ready? Round Start! GO!"
Make them a purchasable option! Let's hear more of our favorite champions' personalities, in a fun and immersive way.
Minions
Now we've seen PROJECT minions, and now as of late, Star Guardian minions. Nice little touch that's not too distracting, but adds a little something to the game, right? They don't stick around for long, but that's something that can be easily changed into an option for IP or RP. Just add them back in as well as other choices!
-
Chromas - Another simple change that won't be too distracting to the gameplay. A simple, self-explanatory add-on.
-
Misc. Themed minions - Ever imagined what a minion wearing a fake mustache, glasses, and nose looks like? You probably are now. Surely we can fit in fun stuff like "Definitely not a Minion/Winion" skin. Maybe even Galaxy, Luchador, Void minions, etc. The list goes on.
Music
-
The Star Guardian event music is a really nice touch to the starting music track in Summoner's Rift. Before that, we had Sona Radio, a product from her ultimate DJ skin. It's a fun perk and can even set the mood for a Baron raid, or defending your base and turning the whole match around, to a more relaxing tone for farming and jungling. That all depends on who you're playing as, and if you're tuned into her music or not. (No, I'm not proposing Sona's songs for the idea below, as it should remain unique to her ultimate skin)
-
Now, the other half of thought... What about all that wonderful login screen music that we come to know and enjoy, then tend to forget about? What if we had the option to buy and select *remixed/remastered ** music tracks Riot has impressed us with, and be able to listen to them in our matches? Most are instrumental pieces anyway, but I highly doubt the lyrics for those that have them would effect gameplay anyway (such as Vi's theme), since I'm sure at least 90% of players listen to their own music while playing. Long story short, music has always been known to have an impact on how gamers play. Let's explore that with League's own flair. *I mean a "Rift-ified" version of these songs, as you could go on YouTube for any of the actual login themes. Plenty of ways to go with this, so I'm sure Riot could have lots of creative fun with it.
Think about it. You're playing as your favorite champion, listening to their theme song as it pumps you up to get that First Blood, or that epic game-changing counterplay. This is your champion. Your match. Your victory.
The music has already been made, so formatting them into a modified BGM and adding them as an option in the game should be a simple concept, right? Why not bring that nostalgic feeling of playing your main back when they were a new release, and realizing, "Yep. This one's definitely for me."
Thoughts? Opinions? Ideas?
