Hecate, The Dark Puppeteer

Hecate was made a few months ago during the summer time, one of my earliest concepts and undoubtedly my most favorite of them all. It received a lot of positive attention and has been tweaked here and there. I promised I would provide my own concept art but I find myself pushing it off. Attached is an extremely rough concept of her (Honestly not even close to an actual concept art) but nonetheless I will try to finish it or make it so that it can be seriously recognized as one. Abilities

Creeping Corruption-Passive: After casting 3 spells on an opponent, the opponent is stunned for 0.75s/1.25s/1.75s. During this duration, Hecate deals bonus magic damage equal to 30% of her Ability Power to the target with her spells and basic attacks. If Hecate does not cast a spell within 10 seconds, her passive will reset itself.

Corrupt Strings-Q: Range: 650 Cooldown: 7 Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 Mana Hecate throws out a quartet of shadowy strings that latch onto nearby enemies (prioritizes enemy Champions)tethering and dealing magic damage. Hecate drains the life of any enemy units tethered to her, gaining health equal to 15%/35%/55% from minions and enemy Champions based upon the damage dealt, healing her over a period of 5 seconds once the spell ends. The tether will last for a maximum of 5 seconds if not broken. (Tether range is ~750 units)

Initial Magic Damage: 60/110/160/210/260 (+60% AP) Damage per second: 20/30/40/50/60 (+50% AP)

Puppet Line-W: Range: 950 Cooldown: 10 Cost: 70/80/90/100/110 Mana Hecate summons a line of puppet arms from the ground, dealing full magic damage to the first enemy it encounters and less to subsequent enemy unit struck, along the line and slowing enemies that stand upon it. If an enemy remains on the path then the puppet hands will grab hold of them and root them briefly.

Initial Magic Damage: 50/90/130/170/210 (+60% AP) Subsequent Magic Damage: 40/70/100/130/160 (+50% AP) Slow Percentage: 10%/20%/30%/40%/50% Root Duration: 2s

Shadow Veil-E: Range: 900 Cooldown: 13/12.5/12/11.5/11 Mana Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 Hecate launches a shadowy orb of dark ethereal energies in a straight line, dealing magic damage to the first target hit and silencing them based upon the distance traveled.

Magic Damage: 80/110/140/170/200 (+45% AP) Silence Duration: 1s-2.5s

Summon: Daemon-R: Range:500 Cooldown:110/100/90 Mana Cost: 100 Mana Hecate summons Daemon, her most prized puppet at a target location, pulling all nearby enemy Champions to him and dealing a burst of magic damage. While Daemon remains active, Hecate gains passive SpellVamp and also mirrors Hecate's spells. Daemon inflicts less damage than Hecate's spells (Daemon's spell imitation is smartcasted towards the cursor's location). Hecate can control who Daemon attacks and where he moves. If Hecate or Daemon kills an enemy Champion, Hecate gains permanent Ability Power. Daemon remains on the field for up to 40 seconds or until he is slain.

Daemon: Attack Range: 150 (Melee) Gold: (65) EXP: 0 EXP Magic Damage: 85/110/135 Attack Speed: 0.6 Health: 900/2000/3100 Health Regen: N/A Movement Speed: Equal to Hecate's Movement Speed Armor: 30/50/70 Magic Resist: 30/50/70 Passive SpellVamp: 5%/10%/15% Spell Damage: Daemon deals 25% of Hecate's Spell damage as his own. Spells mimicked by Daemon do not have CC applied to them and will only inflict damage.

Lore Hecate was born in the city of Piltover, a child who took great interest in the creations that had become animate. As she grew she had discovered she had a knack for making puppets, although she could never animate them to move on their own free will like most of the creations of Piltover. The other children laughed at her inability to create a fully animate puppet and made fun of her, mocking her, teasing her for being inferior, spitting venomous words that she will never amount to anything but an old lady with silent puppets. She grew up being teased and became a recluse hiding in her own workshop after her parents both passed away.

Hecate had worked day and night in her workshop, her hobby of making puppets turning into an obsession, as she worked tirelessly, her once fair skin became pale Her once innocent puppets went from little dolls to dark and rather demonic machinations, reflecting her inner hatred of those who had teased her. She vowed one day that she would get back at the other kids who had spat at her, laughed at her lifeswork, and ground her emotions into the dirt. One day she would stand over their bodies with her puppets at her side.

One fateful day a young man came into her workshop, intrigued by what he saw in the shop's window, the sweet innocent dolls that Hecate created when she was younger. Much too Hecate's surprise this young man shared the same interest in puppets as she did. He asked if he could work with her in the shop, and Hecate accepted his offer to work with her gratefully. Hecate left the darkness of her hidden workshop to work out in the light with this young man whom she had come to love, and he loved her as well. However she never allowed him into the dark hidden workshop, worried that he would leave her once he saw her horrible machinations. However the young man stumbled upon the workshop by accident and went to Hecate for an explanation. Hecate shamefully explained the reason behind it, about her horrible past. The young man listened in silence as she told her story and when it ended simply nodded and hugged her. He understood her pain, and it was strange that they somehow shared the same past. After that they lived together happily, and Hecate finally managed to find the strength t step foot out of the shop for the first time in years.

However she was recognized by the outside world, and they laughed at her even more, commenting about how her skin had become that like a ghost which she might as well have been. The young man had shielded her as he simply shrugged their words off, comforting her. On one night, one that Hecate would never forget, the two went on a night walk, in each others arms when they encountered a group of drunk men. They turned to the couple demanding they hand over what they had. When the young man stepped to protect Hecate, he was slashed across the chest, his wounds fatal. To Hecate's horror she knelt next to the young man, where she too would have suffered a similar fate if Piltover Law Enforcment had not come and intervened. She took the young man's body to her shop and mourned for days. When the tears had stopped she decided that she would never let this man die. She took the body to her hidden workshop where she constructed her most prized puppet, but still it was unable to move. In her anguish she carried this puppet to the Shadow Isles, the one place she knew in her soul, that she could breathe life into this puppet, her loved one. She was surrounded by the dark energies of the Shadow Isles as she was granted the power to breathe life into the inanimate, thus bringing the puppet to life. Hecate would get revenge and use her newfound powers as well as her puppet to kill those who ever laughed at her.

Upon Recalling

  • Hecate wraps her arms around her shoulders as Daemon appears and cloaks her before lifting into the air.-

Hecate Basic Attack Animations

  1. -Hecate holds a small orb in her hand that she throws at her opponents- or
  2. -Hecate whips her opponent with shadowy strings that come from her fingertips/sleeves-

Daemon Basic Attack Animations -Daemon swipes with his scythe diagonally, from different directions with each hit.- -Daemon slashed downward, his scythe hitting his opponent headfirst.-

Casting Corrupt Strings -Throws the strings in the air that land on the nearest units closest to her, attaching to their chests-

Casting Puppet Line -Hecate slams a hand into the ground, the ground along the path becomes dark as ball joint puppet arms shoot out of the ground like Evelynn's Hate Spike-

Casting Shadow Veil -Fires a smooth orb of shadowy energy in a fashion similar to Xerath's Shocking Orb.-

Casting Summon: Daemon -Daemon falls out of the sky in a crouched position, the head of his scythe hitting the ground, with one fist on the ground. He stands up and starts attacking enemies in a broad sweeping motion.- -His basic attacks are broad swipes with his scythe trailed by dark energy.- -Follows the same animation pattern as Hecate's spells.-

Hecate Upon Dying -Hecate clutches her chest as she falls to her knees, one hand on the ground, the other reaching forward before collapsing.-

Daemon Upon Dying -Daemon falls to his knees, one hand clutching his scythe as he tries to use it as support, clutches his chest before falling flat on his face.-

Upon Hecate Dying with Daemon nearby -Hecate's death animation, and Daemon mirroring her as he dies with her, both of them reaching for each other but not quite touching.-

Upon Joking -Hecate points a finger and then uses her thumb to make a cutting motion across the neck.- -Daemon comes up from the ground in a cross legged position, holding his scythe up with one hand while he listens to Hecate talk.-

Upon Taunting -Hecate/Daemon wave at the opponent with a finger to come at them. -Daemon comes from a shadow in the ground and faces Hecate, both of them raise a hand to touch the other's hand, locking fingers-

Upon Dancing -Daemon appears from the ground as he and Hecate do a small ballroom waltz, Hecate humming a tune to fit such a dance.-

Personality: Hecate is a bit of an introvert, although after she joined the League became a borderline psycho in battle. She likes to keep to herself a majority of the time being that she does not like being teased as she had before when she was younger. She rarely shows her emotions outside of battle to anyone in the League, often being as emotionless and expressionless as the puppets she creates. However in combat she becomes a bit more expressive and begins to talk more, often showing a side to her that was not quite apparent, taunting her enemies and such while becoming a bit more psychotic, most likely due to the rush of adrenaline brought on by battle.
