Faust, the Insectiod champion concept

so the last time i tried making a dude, he was kind of a mesh of ideas. I spent a little more time fleshing out the beetle theme, and would like to see what people think

passive: Resilient Carapace - incoming attacks (and/or abilities?) have a chance to be blocked, reducing damage by a %

Q: Burrow - dig underground to target area, slowing enemies hit upon arrival. (was thinking ability could also leave a hole (at beginning and end?) that could root enemies)

W: Carrion Swarm - release a cloud of carrion beetles, who apply a DoT. When an affected unit dies, it spawns a carrion beetle that returns to Faust, restoring % health

E: Natural Armor - passive: gives armorand/or magic resist that increases over time. active: Faust sheds his outer shell, instantly breaking any cc, but losing armor and magic resist, which over time will increase again.

R: Skewer - Faust charges, impaling any enemy champions he comes into contact with. If he collides with wall/tower,etc, then Faust and any champions impaled become pinned for a few seconds

Okay, I have a couple of thoughts. The first is it looks like you are going for a tanky/CC style champ which would work for a beetle.

Passive - riot really, really hates randomness in the game. Personally I'm fine with it, but just be aware that randomness has its detractors. Also you should consider if the tankiness is in the form of bonus AR, bonus MR, or flat damage reduction.

Q - so this is a gap closer with an AoE slow. This would work for initiation.

W - how does this cloud thing work? It sounds like it is targeted, but I don't want to assume that. Giving it conditional healing (only works if the target dies) is a nice little mechanic.

E - I'm fine with the active that breaks CC and the idea that you can lose armor, the idea of extra defenses on top of the passive is a bit worrying to me. Poppy has a similar system but her passive lets her get plinked to death and the armor on her W isn't that much and it either takes mana or time to get it at full power.

R - this sounds cool but mechanically it might not work out because usually only one unit can be in an area at once... so imagine 3 getting lined up. It might work better like Poppy's E or Vi's R. Target 1 champ, knock enemies aside, and if your target hits a wall, just you and him are rooted.

The name doesn't fit the concept :P sorry its just nagging at me.

Faust is a character seen as a scholar and a doctor, who got bored with his life and made a pact with the Devil, or i think it was the demon Mephistopheles? Well either way, in exchange for his soul the demon would serve him and he would be granted the demons powers. In some versions God takes pity on him and saves his soul, in others he cant live with his sins and is willingly carried off to hell.

Or something along those lines, so a beetle guy doesn't really fit the name Faust in my opinions.

Overall it is a nice champ though, his E is a nice mechanic although would need major balancing because it could get out of control. His R should only pin one person and knock anyone else out of the way.
