Gnar thoughts

Seeing as my favorite lane is top, I have been excited ever since the first preview for Gnar and hearing hes meant for top lane. Although hes very fun and different, after playing him, I think Riot could improve him with a few tweaks. Jus my opinion, but I dont think he should be a ranged, I guess 'fighter' who isn't really strong against any typical top laners, unless hes transformed. In his base form, unless built for damage, his auto attacks arent anything too special, and his only ability that does damage is his q. His bounce has such a short range, although the double bouce is a pretty cool escape for ganks, granted any hard cc will prevent it. So his damage isnt anything great. And his utiliy is ONLY present when he is transformed, but unless built as a tank, he cant survive well in either normal or large forms. I'm not sure if maybe I don't understand how to build him properly, or maybe he's not my style (although as stated I enjoy playing him.) I like the direction Riot took him, yet I wonder if he'd be on par with other champs gameplay-wise if maybe his transformation still kept him as a ranged champion perhaps? Or maybe his ult worked more like Shyvana . His base form is just too weak to compete in a solo lane. His % health dmg on his W could possibly make up for this IF the stacks lasted longer. His auto attack is too short to use without likely retaliation resulting in taking more damage than you dished out, and stacks dont last long enough to stack them with well aimed Qs.

Guess he's only been out a day, how's everyone else liking him?

Personally, I don't think any champ can be meaningfully evaluated this close to their launch, especially one as complicated and high-skill as Gnar. We should give people a chance to figure him out a bit more before we demand any changes. I wouldn't argue with the Hyper stacks lasting longer, though.
