New Champion Concept
Sadly, I haven't thought enough about her to create a proper design, but with the idea of a vaguely musical champion, a new idea sprung into my head.
You see, Ao Shin is this dragon who
So, there's this champion named Barrett, and she is a conductor. Her motif is all about rhythm.
I had two ideas for how her kit could play out, but the second one didn't feel quite right, so I turned the second kit into a completely different champion idea. Classified as a Mage
Barrett the Meticulous Maestro (Her taunts and jokes can be about how so out of rhythm and order other champions are.)
Barrett was born and raised in Zaun. She never felt like she fit in, as she was unable to understand even the simplest points of science and magic. She grew up, feeling like an outcast her entire life, being bullied for being "stupid." In her last year of mandatory education, she took a class in music, at her behest. At this point, she had all but given up on being able to commit to any sort of studies. During one class, the teacher had Barrett come up and conduct as part of an assignment. She was hesitant, but gave in to the teacher's whims, as he was the one person who had never been mean to her. As soon as she touched the baton, she felt a spark, and it felt comfortable to her, like an extension of herself. She stepped up to the podium and from the first downbeat, began to feel everything. She felt all the musicians, their heartbeats, their breaths, the music as it came out of them and flowed around the room. She conducted faster, and they immediately began playing faster. She felt like she knew every part of them, and could control how they played. As she came to the end of the piece, she began to bring her hands down and began to feel the music becoming independent of their sources. She knew that she had a choice; to give back the sound and the control, or to take it. She thought about how she had been treated by these people all her life and thought that they didn't deserve the sound back into them, that she would take it, and it would be hers. However, she looked to the back of the room and saw her teacher, his eyes seemingly knowing what she was doing and contemplating, begging her not to. She knew that stealing from them would cause nothing but more sorrow, she decided to give it back. She felt the power leaving her, while letting the music flow back into the instrumentalists. As her hands finally came to a stop, she knew that she had finally found something she had a power for.
Passive: Fermata Every fifth spell's effect will continue on for 50% longer.
Q: Downbeat beams her baton in a straight line like a dart, dealing magic damage and slowing the enemy hit. W: Accelerando Cast on self or another champion to temporarily grant them bonus Attack Speed that grows gradually over the next x seconds. E: Crescendo Cast on self or another champion to temporarily grant them bonus AD that grows gradually over the next x seconds. R: Finale Barrett brings her hands down, ending the piece. All enemy champions take magic damage and are silenced, while allied champions receive a slight heal.
The second champion is named Marne, and she is a dancer. Classified as a brawler. Marne the Ideal Elegance
Marne was a very happy child, and began dancing at a young age. Being an only child, her parents gave her all their unwavering support, with their attention and love never going to anyone else. Growing up in Piltover, she knew a life of peace and order. Instead of continuing her education, she continued dancing, and met her boyfriend, Ghama, a prominent writer in the town. Her abilities grew to the point where her talent was noticed by those all over the land and she was invited to perform in many cities. During one of her journeys, her stagecoach was attacked just outside of the town by a local gang. Her parents were executed, and she was taken prisoner. They forced her to perform for them, to be their own private entertainer. Weeks went by, and she continued to dance for them, being treated well enough, but never forgetting the grudge she bore against them for the murder of her family. She secretly began to hone her abilities and trained herself to disguise her attacks as dance steps by adding elegant movement. During one performance, the place was suddenly raided by the Piltover police, led by Sheriff Caitlyn and her partner, Vi. Some of the gang members tried to run and take her for a hostage, but Marne was not ready to give up so easily. She could still feel the beat of the metronome resonate within her. She began to fight back, all of her attacks precise and landing within the beat of the rhythm in her head. She felt as though the rhythm of the music controlled her movements, as everything she did, every attack, every movement she made was within the beat of the music. When the room began to settle, the sheriff and her partner laid their eyes on the girl and were in awe of Marne, being able to fight so precisely, without any weapons or appearing to use any spells.
Her abilities change how she moves and how she attacks. Her basic attacks are all different, so that you always know what beat you are on.
Passive: Step Ball Change Marne can quickly sidestep within the beat of her time signature in place of a basic attack, the distance changing with movement speed and active time signature. If she would be hit during the sidestep, the ability misses. She can use this to move through allied minions.
Q: 4/4 Basic form. Her stats are equal in this form. Slap, punch, kick, spin. W: 3/4 Waltz form. Her AS is lowered in this form, but her AD is raised. Slap, kick, spin. E: 5/4 Tango form. Her AS is heightened, but her AD is lowered. Slap, punch, kick, spin, hip check. The hip check does a slight knock back, and a short stun. R: Sadie Hawkins Swing Form. Marne's Armor and Magic Resist are temporarily increased. Reveals all enemy champions on the map, from which Marne chooses a "dance partner." This champion is taunted for a few seconds, and they both walk towards each other, neither able to do anything. If the enemy champion comes within basic attack range during the taunt, she attacks them, dealing physical damage.
As these aren't full-fledged ideas yet, I'd love suggestions and whatnot. I'm also not very talented in terms of drawing these kinds of things (I'm a painter). I have a few ideas for what they would look like, but I don't really know for sure yet.
