Altair, the Lightbringer

Introduction:

Hello and welcome everyone to my champion concept! You know after a friend made me play LoL, after 600 hours of DOTA, i really had some good ideas for champions as they couldn't fit in DOTA but here i can fit all of their abilities, lore and other stuff in. Anyway, back to the champion im not gonna waste your time with my boring introduction. Let's do this.

Changelog:

--> Reduced Holy spear range fron 800 to 375 --> Lightbarer damage buff now only procs on champions -->Justicar's strike damage reduced by 5 on all levels (fron 55/75/95/115/135 to 50/70/90/110/130)


Overview:

-Gender. Male -Race: Human -Origin: Dalmacia, location unknown -Alliance: Independant -Class: Melee Fighter -Subclass: Tank -Attack Type: Melee -Energy Source: Mana

Altair is a melee fighter that excels in 1 v 1 scenarios and in extended engagements, as he can put out a sustained flow of damage with his basic attacks and amplifiying it with his justicar's strikes' armor reduction. his passive also allows him to deal a massive amount of damage in a single strike.

Abilities:

Passive: Lightbarer:

A portion of all damage delt to Altair will be stored as a buff that makes his next spell or basic attack on a champion deal that damage as magic damage. Max trashold of the buff and % of damage value absorbed will increase at levels 6, 11 and 16. (Note that damage % stored as buff is taken before reductions and Altair will still take all of the damage after reductions--> this is NOT a shield).

Damage trashold: 125/250/375/500 % of damage to buff damage: 10%/15%/20%/25%


Q: Holy spear:

Altair summons a holy spear with a chain and throws it at an enemy unit, dealing damage and pulling it to his location, slowing the unit for a few sec after the unit is pulled to the location.

Type: Single target Damage: 60/90/120/150 Damage type: Magic Slow: 65% Slow duration: 1.5 sec Cast range: 375 units Cost: 50/60/70/80/90 mana Cooldown: 16/15/14/13/12

Notes:

--> Unit pulled has no unit collision --> Cannot be avoided ---> Example: You cast holy spear and when the spear is travelling the champion you targeted flashes out of 800 range, the spear will still drag him back to you

W: Justicar's strike:

Altair strikes in a cone AoE dealing damage and reducing armor of units hit. The debuff can stack up to 5 times.

Type: AoE Damage: 50/70/90/110/130 Damage type: Physical Armor reduction: 5/8/11/14/17 AR Duration: 8 sec AR Max stacks: 5 AoE Range: 350 Cost: 40/55/60/75/90 mana Cooldown: 11/10/9/8/7 sec

Notes:

--> Damage is applied before AR.

E: Purification blades:

Passive: Altair's blades to deal extra magic DoT based on a % of basic attack damage

Active: Empowers the blades increasing the Altair's % to DoT value.

Type: Passive/Activateable DoT %: 5%/7%/9%/11%/13% Active DoT: 15% DoT duration: 4 Damage type: magic Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11 Cost: 40

Notes:

--> DoT duration means the time needed to DoT to deal that % of the damage. (Sorry but some people confuse this)

R: Righteous wrath:

Altair invokes fury of the light becoming one with it for a period of time. In that state his basic attack damage is increased and all of his abilities gain new powers.

Type: Self cast, No target Duration: 20/25/30 sec Base damage increase: 15% Cost: 100/140/180 Cooldown: 90/80/70

Holy spear: Range is increased to 1000 and instead of slowing it roots for 1.5 sec.

Justicar's strike: Cooldown is reduced to 4 sec and the mana cost is 0.

Purification blades: Active is always active during Righteous wrath.

-Base Health: 551 (+62/level) -Base Mana: 314 (+32/level) -Base Attack Damage: 52(+9/level) -Base Attack Speed 0.525(+0.042/level) -Attack Range: 150 -Base Armor 24 (+2.9/level) -Magic Resistance 24(+2.5/level) -Movement Speed: 330


Appearance:

Altair is a male, his age is unknown, as is his body since he always wears a massive armor forged from finest of metals and glided with gold and a few gems. there are 7 crest on the armor. He wields 2 big blades that have similar apperance as his armor, massive and glided. Looking at his physical appearance, guessing as the armor doesn't help, he is muscluar and appers to be about 2 meters in height.


Lore:

There were rumors, almost myths about an order of warriors that lived all their days with a blade and light at their presence. They were warriors that devoted themselves to the light and ultimetly becoming one with it. They fought many battles but not one of these wars was know to any outside of the order, nor any noble of nearby Demacian Capital. No one knew who those warriors were and so they were considered as a order of thiefs as any "information" about them was taken even the most dumb rumors were tought to be true. But one day these rumors reached a spilling point and people started to plot against this order, to bring it down. In blind rage people all around Dalmacia started searchig for this "Guild" and one night they finnaly found them. in a fit of deciving rage, fear and truly, dispair they killed everyone in the order. Or so they tought. After the time has passed and the rumors become almots forgotten, written in history, People of the Capital got an unpleasent suprise one day when a man, now known as Altair arrived at the city. At his arrival he was honest of his identety and that almost got him killed instantly. But then people realized what the order, the order of Lightbringers, truly was. But what was done was done. But in suprise Altair didn't harm any of the citizens who tried to kill him just moments ago. In silence he left, never to be seen again in the Capital. Now he stand on the field of battle once more, as for all those lost will be arvenged.

Hello, I really like your champion idea from start to finish but there were a few things that seemed a little bit overpowered in his kit. First, his passive seemed to me a bit too strong at its max rank. Also, considering the numbers, it would be very difficult to achieve enough stored energy to charge up a maximum strength passive. This is because every time you auto attack, your stored energy is reset. What I think would fix this is if the passive only did its bonus damage to enemy champions.

Secondly, Q is just way too op. What you have proposed is essentially a point and click Blitzcrank grab with added cc and the passive proc. The reason I have come to the conclusion that this ability is point and click is because you mentioned that it "cannot be avoided." As far as my knowledge is concerned, This is a quality unique to point and click abilities (granted the target does not have a spell shield of some sort). The only thing needed, I think, to make this ability balanced is a reduction in its range. Instead of 800 I would personally say like 300-400. I say this because, if played as a support, this champion would not only have an easier time of charging up the passive ability, but you would also be able to pull even the longest ranged adcs with ease (adcs, generally speaking, have a range of 550).

Lastly, this champion's immense potential to deal large amounts of both physical and magical damage makes it verrrrrrryyyy difficult to itemize against in lane.
