Tristana rework sucks

I really don't like the new rework they are gonna do on Trist. I like the regular trist that we all got to start with. Now she just looks like a blue version of Gnar. I really hope they abandon this rework idea on her and just stick with the original.

First of all, your problem seems to be with her visual update, but I will cover both points. Any identity relation to Gnar is likely on purpose, as Gnar is an ancient ancestor to the "modern" yordle. However, she has a unique identity as a female of the same species. However, she still reads fairly unique, if not for her Jinx-like appearance/outfit. For the most part, however, she is still very unique in her behavior, still that gunner attitude and what not, but she also carries that strange "glee", that is a key characteristic of yordles. Her eye color change was the only thing that bothered me at first, but then I came to the likely hood that this was done because she was blue, and her eyes perhaps weren't "popping" out in her VU. She is still fairly unique, however, in her overall design.

As for the rework part of her, the list of her changes are as follows (Via surrenderat20.net):

Base Damage increased to 51.54 from 49.54 Attack Speed Per Level Lowered (2.5 to 1.5) Base HP reduced to 542.76 from 552.76 Base Armor reduced to 22 from 24.04 Rocket Jump (W) damage reduced to 80/105/130/155/180 (.5 AP) from 70/115/160/205/250 (.8 AP) Rocket Jump (W) now deals increased damage when used on targets affected with her E!

"Rocket Jump's damage is increased if she lands on a unit affected with Explosive Shot (25% bonus per stack), and explodes the Explosive Shot charge immediately if it has 4 stacks."

Explosive Shot (E) has been reworked! Mana Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 Cooldown: 16/15/14/13/12 New Active: Places a charge on target enemy or tower that explodes after 4 seconds, dealing 60/70/80/90/100 (+ .5/.65/.8/.95/1.1 Bonus AD)(+ .5 AP) physical damage to nearby enemies. Tristana's Basic attacks against the target increase the charge's damage by 25% stacking up to 4 times. If Tristana basic attacks a target with 4 stacks, the charge explodes immediately.

The changes are likely because Tristana was such a sound pick in matches across the board (not the Boards, but you know what I mean). Her kit has actually been significantly balanced out, transferring some of that uber late game horsepower into the early/mid game. It may also be safe to say that they are trying to ween players off of AP Tristana by lowering AP related ratios. Health and armor changes have been exchanged in response to higher potential damage, providing subtle risk to going into battle. 10 health and 2 armor are not as big of a deal in the late game, but her early game is much more balanced with the added early damage, but less early health/armor. Her attack speed per level is probably one of her bigger hits, but still balances extra early game damage vs "super attack speed damage turbo". She will still be fast and powerful come late game, just a little less fast and a little more powerful.

Rocket Jump is probably a sensitive topic, but easily explained. Here, Riot is nudging players towards kit synergy, and although Rocket Jump does not have as much individual power, it gains a significant damage spike if the target has multiple stacks of Explosive Shot/Charge. Taking only base stats into account, at level 3 with one (1) point in each ability, if Tristana Rocket Jumps onto a target with 4 stacks of Explosive Charge, she will do 160 damage instead of the previous 70 damage. At level 18, with all abilities maxed out, if Tristana were to do the same as described in the previous scenario, she would deal 360 damage instead of the earlier version of Rocket Jump, which would only deal 250. And REMEMBER: THIS IS WITH NOTHING BUILT. With items it would be even more damage.

I hope I was able to explain this well :)
