@Riot: The next time you start development on a human champion, make them black

This is an idea that I suggested in another thread, and it's a very simple concept: the next time you start creating a new human champion (i.e. one that you haven't already started drawing art for) make that champion a black man or a black woman.

That's it.

Don't change anything else about the concept, just make them black. If it's a paladin, make it the exact same paladin, but with dark skin. If it's a crossbowwoman, make it the exact same crossbowwoman, but with dark skin. Basically, the only thing their race needs to say about the character is that they don't sunburn easily.

And then they are going to give him two pistols and a drive-by ult because that's what comes to mind first.

isn't insisting a character be black just as racist as insisting he's not?

And why black? Why not latino? Or a Pacific Islander?

And why does the League need to have an Affirmative Action policy?

While I agree with the message of your post I don't see why it's really necessary. The only real argument I can see for it is "because diversity". Personally I don't think forced diversity is any better than a lack of diversity when it comes to stuff like gender, race, or in the case of many works of fiction species.

Again the message I agree with, however it should come naturally, rather than just plastering some diversifying detail to whoever's next.

Problem is that you can't just slap a race onto a character for the sake of the race, especially when there's lots of cultural ethnicity in the fictional setting of this game. They'd have to change things to make it fit, for instance.

What if the next champion was the lovechild of JarvanIV and Shyvana ? Sure, they could make the champion black, but there would have to be a good reason for it (maybe "ashen scales" or whatever) and it would call attention to the race more than the champion itself. I'm all for more black champions, it'd be nice, but you can't just slap a racial identity on a champion without making sure the champion is that identity.

Making someone a certain race, sexual orientation, ect. simply for the purpose of being "politically correct" is insulting to the group you are trying to help.

How about riot just focuses on making sure that champion is fun to play instead

This still makes me giggle.

I've been wanting a female champion that doesn't have the slim figure. Jinx was a step in the right direction, due to her bust size.

Can the next champion be a heavy-set black female?

Well it seems your stalled out. I should have put a vote on mine too. But Good job never the less. I think we can say that this was a victory for your line of thought. you only got down voted 7. Though it seems fewer people took in interest as well. Still good over all. We both got some racist comments but at least six people thought nothing of it. Minus the 6 I guess you got down voted 13 maybe. Still better than my -68. Here is one in the book for the "It's how you say it crowd". Now lets get that champ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kinda wish there wasn't so many that didn't care one way or the other. That's how slavery probably went too.

This is a bad idea. This is literally saying take the next human champion and change their pigment to be darker. Riot:"well they were gonna be freljord..." you:"um.. um.. OK just make them shuriman!" Riot:"well they had things in their kit directly due to ice/freljord" you:"WELL WE NEED A BLACK SO PUT SOME SAND IN THEIR" ... you get my point.

Champions should come naturally, not a forced race.

I'ma just point out that skin tone and race are not the same thing at all. This post is about skin tone, not race. Like the OP said literally nothing about race, y'all just saw the words dark skin tone and immediately assigned a race to it. Chill with that shit.

Digielf5/10/2015, 3:11:53 PM1 votes

Humans are 1 race lol skin tones arent race black chinese white all belong in the human race

Vbunnie5/10/2015, 6:48:37 PM1 votes

why do they have to be black? Does black automattically bring diversity? honestly? Why not asian, or native american, or indian, or norse or hispanic/latino, or something why do they have to be black? honestly what is the point? we already have one black champion and Karma could technically be taken as black so why do we need another. humans are one race black is not a race black is a skin tone.
