Will Ezreal keep his bow?
Ezreal has his bow on his gauntlet in close to everything his Q,W,R and multiple skins. His bow was one of the reasons I picked up this character 5 years ago and call me paranoid but I feel like with the rework he is at risk of losing it.
After hearing about an incoming rework I went over the short story riot made for Ezreal called "Elixir of Uloa" hoping to find a hint of what would his new W may be where I noticed something off ...
"I open my hand and a brilliant arc of golden light as wide as the tunnel bursts from my palm. The force of the blast staggers me, but I maintain my focus. The light blazes in a continuous glowing channel, gleaming brightly as it disintegrates everything in its path,"
Instead of firing his Ult by pulling back the bow he instead fired it from his palm.
However the lore alone isn't the end all and be all since a few lines of text can be changed
When the teaser for Ezreal got posted looking at the gauntlet changes I felt that whilst the gauntlet looks amazing the potential that the gauntlet redesign could mean the method of fire could also change.
Then there was the Riot posts from Reav3 saying
"We will be making completely new ones for the ones that are really old (Striker, Explorer, PF and Nottingham) the others we will just be tweaking to match the new models (If needed)" (in reference to splash arts)
"Our current plan is to do minor tweaks to his current splash, similar to Shen and Tristana." (in reference to his base splash art)
Whilst none of these statements say "he will no longer use a bow" the the fact that Ezreal is having animations models and splash arts changed means that the bow is going to either see some change or be removed too from both splashes and in-game
As his bow is seen as an iconic feature of Ezreal right next to his goggles all I can say is I hope i'm wrong and I hope he just gets cooler VFX for his bow and even spiffier goggles and maybe a hoodie
