Champion Mastery Player Icons

So I was thinking about some of the icons for champions like Cptn. Gangplank or the Project skins, and thought about how it would be cool if there were more icons that directly correlated to champions. And now with Riot working on Lvl 6 and 7 champion mastery (or maybe they're already out idk), doesn't it seem like a great idea if you were able to earn special icons of that champion? To go the extra mile, they could even be all original art of the champions face or weapon or such, instead of using the current in game icons. They were talking about how they wanted to implement a rewards system for people who've reached higher champion mastery, so why not give some shiny new icons to flaunt off?
