New Sion and Old Sion

I would like to know if it's at all a possibility to make the Old Sion kit available to play again, as like an option on the Sion champion, even if it's not allowed in ranked or some game types. The new rework has some fun mechanics to it, but that being said, I find myself missing the champion he once was. Whether you like the old version or new version more is not the point, but rather I would just like to be able to go down memory lane every now and then, even if it's not meta, and do the best I can with a completely outdated champion and kit, because to me that's what was fun in that character. Please let me know if it's at all possible to make Old Sion an option (maybe like a skin that looks like his old one on the mew model that has his old move set), and if not why. Debates are welcome as to why this is a bad or good idea.

It won't be possible, but I admire your idea and I loved old Sion as well.

The problem is, it's not just the Scion player that Riot was thinking about for the change, it was the people playing against him. Scion had practically no counter play at all. He just press shield, point-and-click-stun, press shield again to pop. Repeat. There is nowhere in there, with normal spells and laning strategies, to counter that via gameplay.

Pretty sure it's not possible to make the old kit playable with a different skin active. They can do skins that have different voices and effects but the kits work off of animations and settings that the models are built on.

Mainly I just want to be able to play with the old kit for fun. It's not like Riot has completely lost the files for the old kit and old voice acting. I know I'm not in the majority here, but they could make quite a bit of money by selling the model and kit at like an ult skin price. It could be in the skin select for Sion, but in actuality it's a completely different character, but then Riot wouldn't have two Sion's on their champion roster. It seems like a triple win to me: Fans of the old kit get to play it once more; since the other kit is doing better as far as pick rate is concerned, new Sion will continued to be played, old Sion would be still be rarely seen except probably in normals, so Riot need not worry to even bother with tweaking him anymore; Riot could potentially make a lot of money on re-releasing a model, kit, and voice acting that they already have. (in fact they could do this with the other champs they've reworked completely, and make tons of profit for very little effort)

If they were ever to bring back something resembling Sion's old kit, it would be on a new champion.

"Minimal counterplay" was only one reason he was so heavily reworked. His mechanics were very archaic, his abilities were all point-and-click or just a wall of numbers, and building him as an AP nuke runs completely contrary to what Sion is supposed to be.

When you have a champion who's touted as being an "unstoppable juggernaut with a giant axe" and the most efficient way to build him is as a wizard, you know something needs to be looked at.
