Void Support Idea-Pure concept, just ideas.

So there's a threat that was going around asking for a void support to be added into the game and I just wanted to give an idea out for something like it.

The main concept of the champion would be to attach X to allies and or enemies to buff/debuff them along with providing various

Example, a leech (placeholder concept) could be placed onto an ally and it could absorb X amount of damage but a leech on an enemy would engorge the more they are attacked and explode after the void champion procs their ability, sort of like Tristana's bomb but it must be remotely activated.

The Leech could take different forms, such as a maw that is thrown on an ally that'll attack those who harm them and any nearby threats.

Of course the champion itself would need some kind of defense so I suggests that the abilities are more potent on itself along with an ultimate that has synergy with them all.

Thinking of a very void like passive for a support, i'd say something of an ink ability like a squad. When attacked or low on health, X champion would release a smoke screen to cover their retreat or turn around, sort of like a mini Nocturne ultimate.

Also thread. http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/AkjtffAf-this-years-void-champion-should-be-a-scary-support

Chogath Velkoz can be played as support because of CC. But i agree, having pure support void champion would be nice.

They aren't bad as supports IMO I played Cho'gath support alot in 2014 mainly because you can for duo bot it's hard not to hit your skills hots and if your ADC dies, you still have 600 true damage.

Even I have to admit that at times Cho'gath's burst does feel a bit cheap.

Funnily enough, the idea of a leech champ has actually come up quick a bit for a Void support. I myself have come up with a few ideas in the past, and while leeches are a good start, parasites in general give you a lot more options. Think of mozzies. Annoying little things that you can never seem to kill and cause you great amounts of annoyance when they finally do bite you.

The idea of attaching/detaching for allies was kind of explored with Tahm via is E ie you remove an ally from the map and take damage for them. The thing with Tahm is you are essential creating a 4 v 5 scenario, as neither Tahm nor the ally he's eaten can cast any other abilties while inside Tahm (apart from Tahms E). So how do you change this? Allow both champs to cast spells. For example, the ult could allow the champion to remove their character model from the map and completely cover another champion. The allied champion gains increased size (think like a Lulu ult or a Elixir of Iron), but can still move and cast abilities as normal and controls the movement for both champs (kind of like a reverse of how Tahm controls the movement of both champs). The kicker as well is that the support would have a new kit based entirely on defensive thing for they are attached eg Q could increase armour/magic resist for X seconds, W could make the allied champ gains life steal/spell vamp for X seconds, E could be a cleanse/movement speed buff.

It's a fun idea. Hopefully it gets made.

Funny thing, while thinking of the leech "Which i'm going to call a parasite now since you're right) mechanic I was actually wondering if Riot was capable of such a thing and kept using Tahm as a point of reference since he has heavy champion interaction, along with a bit of Tristana and Lulu.

I'm trying to imagine the ultimate, the only problem I'd have with that is how like Kayle's it would be. It would be a nightmare if Kayle and this support went bot, their level 6 power spike would quite literally be unkillable.

Right now I'm just coming up with something fun as, let's be honest, chances are these ideas won't ever be used haha.

That said, a few ways you could balance it:

  • It could continuously cost mana per second for the support and when you're oom you're automatically detatched
  • The support could take increased damage
  • Damage taken is split between both champs at a ration (eg the support takes damage and is dealt 60% of the damage, then the other 40% hits the allied champ underneath them)
  • The allied champ can't ult while the parasite is attached (I'm looking at Sion, Rek'Sai, Tahm, Shen, Twisted Fate. Basically anyone with large global ult that moves them. I would actually prefer if they could though, as it could allow one of them to ult in a situation carrying the parasite, the parasite jumps off them after the initial engage and then onto another allied champion such as the carry)
  • Certain item activations and passives could be disabled while attached (Zhonya's, Guardian's Angel, Quicksilver Sash and its 2 build items)

I'm not saying it should have all of these, just that they are a few ways you could balance.

I think the mana would be best since the other seem like they're just bugs waiting to happen.

This is just fun concepts. We don't need to go so far as to worry about bugs because these ideas will never be made. It's just enjoyable to come up with.

Stop thinking about this as a "this will be implemented if we put enough thought in to it" kinda thing, and just think about it as "what's something fun you could add but is also fair"

This could be very interesting. For the ult I'm envisioning that the parasite emits a large slowing field that saps a small amount of health from the enemies within the field and feeds it to the carrier.

An alternate ult could be allowing the parasite to actually become a support-controlled pet with high defense, slow-movement, and attacks that fear the enemy?

Both could be tethered to the requirement that the parasite absorbs a set amount of damage, or maybe have the CD reduced by x seconds every time the carrier loses x% of their max hp.

Just a few thoughts :) I like the idea.

Those are pretty good ideas, thought I prefer the first former over the latter.

One of the interesting things about void champs is that they almost all have a true damage mechanic, and they have a system involving stacks. It would be fun to see a support champion integrate these somehow. . .

For a support I think the best way to introduce true damage is passively and give the passive cooldown a timer. I.E. Every 10 seconds a basic attack will deal true damage.

Something that can't be abused if the person where t o go to other lines but something still nice to have.
