A change for name changes (pun intended).

So, I would very much like to change my username to "Zethos," that I use for many of my other games. But there is a problem, another user has already claimed this summoner name for League of Legends. To make matters even more frustrating, the summoner/user under the name of "Zethos" hasn't played a game in so long that it shows nothing for his or her match history.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is there should be a "wipe" every year or so that for players who haven't played in a year+ to lose out on their chosen name. NOTE: I AM NOT SAYING THAT THEY SHOULD GET THEIR ACCOUNTS DELETED. I am merely wanting them to have to chose a new name should they re-log in after such a long time of inactivity (highly unlikely in my opinion, as I have been checking the match history for the user "Zethos" once a week for nearly a year - still no activity).

Thoughts? Opinions? Post them below. Would also be lovely to hear an answer for this from a Riot employee.
