Riot can you make an open world game with all the champs of league
something like WOW where you can go any where and buy things and craft u get it.

You really want to see a mob of Yasuos running around throwing tornados all over the place?
If Riot makes a League based MMO then the players can't be the champions, they have to be everyday citizens that become like champions. It would require additional abilities not in the game to flush out Champions to a remotely passable state of they were used as anything more than talking heads, which of course would lead to people wanting those abilities in the main game.
The most you could hope for if you wanted to play the champion was a single player or small group game that required everyone to play unique Champions.
I would absolutely buy this game and play the shit out of it. Rito may not be capable of this yet, but if they ever do manage it it would be amazing! The implications for the lore and development of the characters are incredible. Imagine being able to walk around the streets of Zaun or Piltover, or look for treasure in the Kumungu Jungles. That shit would be awesome.
Tbh they way they are hammering on the lore and trying to flesh out thier world an MMO is probably thier next project.
It's a formula that's has worked in the past and always will
Get a fan base.
Build a foundation for the lore and universe.
Turn it into an MMO.
Get a butt load of people that will play it regardless of how shitty or good it is.
Profit.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that an MMO or an RPG created by a team that has almost exclusively worked on a MOBA would be pretty terrible. They would have to hire a team to work on it for them, something I just don't see happening.
That'd be amazing. Maybe Riot's already been working on it because they haven't made any games since League?
Yeah but roster based games never make transition to RPG or the like well because they have completely different approaches.
Unless you're talking about the type where player class is character-bound/fixed, but LoL has 130 champs, they can't possibly make it 130 classes now can't they?
If you say that they just need to be NPCs and bosses, then that's probably not going to work well too, since the lore and the setting had been retconned and has been half A and half B with messy or straight up no connection between them ever since.
Imagine if it was a class-based MMO where what classes you could get were decided by what faction you were in.
Knight: Demacia, Noxus Assassin: Noxus, Ionia Ranger: Freljord, Demacia Monk: Shurima, Ionia Paladin: Demacia Mage: Shurima, Demacia, Ionia Barbarian: Noxus, Freljord Hextech User: Piltover, possibly Zaun Alchemist: Zaun, Noxus Cleric: Demacia, Ionia
EDIT: Shadow Isles: Necromancer, Mage, Assassin (Evelynn, anyone?) Targon: Knight, Paladin Bilgewater: Assassin, Pirate(?), Priest/Priestess Bandle City: Mage, Hextech User, Cleric, Alchemist
I think a single player campaign/story mode would be amazing too. Imagine playing as Darius/Garen in a full on war battling each other.
If league is only capable of reworking 5 champs a year what makes you think they'll be able to make another game and keep it up to date.
I want a Disgaea like Tactical RPG game where League champs and abilities are interpreted into that kind of game.
It would likely have to be free or drastically different/cheaper from WoW to avoid competing with it.
I think I'd rather either see a Turn-based strategy RPG (similar to Final Fantasy Tactics, with their turn order setup and everything so you have to time direction/area/turns) or Riots' take on a loot based ARPG...
(Warning rough draft)
If Riot made an open world game like WoW based on League of Legends, it would take over gaming as a whole.. if done right. Here are some of my ideas.
1: The League universe has to have a better complete story.. mind you like WoW you can fill in gaps like they did with every expansion or build in more story line. none the less you need a problem and you need the players to solve the problem by story progression... (Just look at WoW lore) You could be creative and make a story line irrelevant to league lore but set with in the league universe. Something i see players would like as we already have league lore for champions but telling their story's in a Open world MMO will be tough. What Riot could do is introduce chapters/expansions for example every faction can be an expansion that tells their story.
2: You cant use League Champions as playable champions; Having their abilities does not fit into a MMORPG that is NOT top down. Hence you can recreate the abilities and animations to fit the 3rd person MMORPG genre. However, i still fill you should just look at what a Open world MMO needs in terms of abilities/spells to make it work. Hence why its best to find a good way to use league abilities in this Open world game while creating new ones of course. But dont go overboard league abilities are meant for a MOBA you gotta be creative and make new abilities.
Heroes of the storm and WOW is a perfect examble
3: You will need to redefine races... (NOT FACTIONS). SO races you can pick a Yordle and other races we know exist in league. here is a nice post that shows all the races (I think those are all) http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=938556)
Now, you cant use all races as an option for the player, same way wow doesn't let you pick all of the races for your character. I think they only have 9 races for Horde and 9 for alliance (Dont quote me on that). You can release more races as the game goes.
4: Factions: In WoW there are only two playable factions but in the lore there are plenty of factions that you can keep track in the Organisation list that display your reputation with that specific faction.
In WOW you can only play in 2 factions and within those factions they give you a race you can choose from.
SO, League would have to choose 2 factions, players can choose from and classify within those factions which races will be an option for each. This will can only work by Riot coming up with a similar way of GOOD vs Evil (ex. from wow Alliance vs Horde). This could be notoriously consist of the 2 biggest rivals Demacian VS Noxian and within those 2 major factions you can choose a race. Also you can have a faction list like wow has that lets you build reputation with other factions.
5: Items: Now obviously the item list would have to be re-imagined and clearly would have nothing to do with current items in league. You would have to create interesting balanced items. Now, that doesnt mean names and similarities cant exist. I think Riot should hold some similarities too.
6: Character Creation: Your options would be to choose from faction, then race, then class. WIth that being said certain races could not be every class. For instance can yordles be tanks? Yes, look at poppy. Can they be DPS? yes look at tristana. Can they be assassin? no... (Technically they could.. shut up internet) WIth that example i believe characters would need a realistic class representation to their lore. No one would want a little Teemo rat thats a tank (Stop it internet its not happening)
7: Questing: In the grand scheme of things main questing should have some what a realistic representation to the plot. However, side questing could be somewhat unique to the league of legends experience.
8: PVP: Okay this is simple but it allows to be very creative. Keep pvp open for a more bigger battlefield. so for instance dont make pvp any less then lets say 32 vs 32. Also dont make it anything close to the LOL MOBA. give the players a new way of PVP that is completely different then LOL as we know it. Dont even name it summoners rift. If you relate it to the MOBA that will driver players away from the immersion that this is ultimately a different game. (hail ditch the whole idea of PVP... hush, Internet this statement is in Parenthesis) Or at least give us a different way of pvp that we have not seen in WOW or any MMORP... be creative and make it fun... dont make to important in terms of competitiveness as you have LOL MOBA for that.
9: Champions should be part of questing in the story but not playbale. Again it makes no shred of sense for you to choose a premade character. You can implement characters in the story or even come up with new characters irrelevant to LOL MOBA. If you really want it to be dis associated to the champions then by all means create a new plot... or hail make it where your character is a champion that has been ascended... Either way lol champions would either have to be implemented in the quest and the plot or not in at all. You cant make them playable.... Not gonna debate on this.
10: Conclusion: Of course there are so many aspects to the making an open world MMORPG and regardless of how RIot proceed wether it be open world or linear storytelling. One thing is clear. The world of League can definitely be expanded to other tittles then just what we have. IF you do end up choosing to be Open World MMO you have to 100% follow the WoW formula. That would attract WoW players and also give League players a less hostile environment to rage but ultimately just enjoy league of legends in a new way.
something like WOW where you can go any where and buy things and craft u get it.
Fun idea, but I don't think it could work. Not with Riot's current team, anyway.
Simply put, Riot is just not equipped to handle the burden of a fully-maintained, constantly-updated, fighting-to-be-relevant MMORPG. A MOBA is a lot more focused and calculated, easier to grab numbers and balance accordingly. There's 3 lanes, jungle in the remaining corners, river splitting the jungles in two, and monster pits. An MMO is far more complex with thousands of millions of tiny working parts, all having to work perfectly to make the game function.
I'm not opposed to the idea of a Runeterra MMO. In fact, it would be pretty awesome. It would give Riot the perfect opportunity to explore their lackluster lore deeper, reach a new audience, and even have two massively-successful online games under their belt. However, they just do not have the skill for it. I'm sorry, but if League of Legends is anything to go by, Riot has far too much to learn before they're ready to tackle one of the most complex genres in all of gaming.

I always imagine league to have a spin-off game that's similar to Dcuo where you can go to demacia, zaun, etc. You would be able to create your own chracters and there would be all type of roles. And as you play you get to meet champs thats in game. :D

######Good thing Riot can't make anything new without Papa Tencents blessing, which they'll never get. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
Even if it doesn't include all the areas (I mean, that's gonna take a long long time even if they get started right now), I'd be fine with it. Heck, a short RPG that's set in Zaun and Piltover only would make me happy. They can expand further of course, but even if it's that small, I think it'd be nice.
I would much more prefer Dark Souls type of game where you fight each champion in an epic boss battle, hell it can just be boss battles without any open world and I would still pay $$$$$$$ for it !!!
