how about a mode where you buy custom stats for items in addition to buying them in the first place. like the mode lets you spend money to change the green text of the item, passives cant be changed. so you can increase the crit chance on an item or add armor to a lifesteal weapon, but it gets exponentially more expensive and it cant do better than 100% gold efficiency.
