[Champion Concept] Ma'leth, The Void Emissary
Note The idea behind Ma'leth was to create a completely utility based support mage whose abilities deal 0 damage. To compensate for having no damage other than auto attacks, I tried to give Ma'leth a little more powerful abilities. I know that the numbers will most likely need to be tweaked, but would appreciate any feedback for her spells. Thanks!
Ma’leth, The Void Emissary
Lore: Ma’leth is a dark diplomat from the void. Though she is a mastermind in her own right, she still serves a higher and more powerful evil. Her arrival to world signals the the coming of her master. Ma’leth is the one responsible for informing the inhabitants of planets that their doom is approaching in the form of the Void. First, Ma’leth creates a prophet from one of the world’s citizens. For Runeterra, that was Malzahar. She instilled the visions of the cold, dark nothingness and instructed Malzahar to spread the fear. Next, she arrives to the world to share a new wave of fear and horror. Acting as a diplomat, she enjoys playing with the mortals, toying with their lives and watching them squirm. Once the world is prepared, the true horror of the void is unleashed and the world is devoured in chaos and destroyed. Ma’leth sees all living beings as being beneath her. She is disgusted by them and looks forward to watching them get wiped from existence.
Look: Ma’leth is tall and slender. Elegantly dressed, blacks, purples, and blues are the main colors with a art similar to Ravenborn LeBlanc(with a void twist). She always gives off the sense of evil and her eyes give you the feeling that there is a grand scheme going on in her mind (because there is).
Passive: Bodyguards All allies within 800 range of Ma’leth have their damage and health increased by 5% (+.294% per level).
Q: Extradite Cooldown: 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 Cost: 70 / 85 / 100 / 115 / 130 Range: 600 Cast Type: Point + Click Ma’leth sends a target champion to the Void, causing them to become invisible and untargetable to all except Ma’leth. If cast on an ally, they gain 20% movement speed for 5 seconds. If cast on an enemy, they lose vision of all champions / units/ monsters for 3 seconds.
W: Dark Filibuster Cooldown: 9 Cost: 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 65 Range: 750 Cast Type: Point + Click Ma’leth fills the target enemy’s head with voices from the Void, silencing them for 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 seconds.
E: Veiled Envoy Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 Cost: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 Range: 900 Cast Type: Skill shot Ma’leth travels through the Void to a target location. If there is an enemy champion within a small radius of Ma’leth’s destination, they are sucked through the void to Ma’leth’s original location and slowed for 30%+(.1*AP)% (max 60%) that decays over 3 seconds. If there are multiple enemies within Ma’leth’s target location, the closest one to the center of the zone is teleported. Ma’leth gains a shield that absorbs 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 / 210 + (70%AP) damage for 3 seconds.
R: Declaration of War Cooldown: 180 / 160 / 140 Cost: 100 Range: Global Ma’leth transforms all of her allies’ trinkets into summoning stones for 10 seconds. Her allies can then use the stones and teleport to Ma’leth’s location after channeling for 3 seconds. If more than one ally uses the summoning stone, Ma’leth will be teleported back to her nexus. Ma’leth will granted an assist for any kills her teleported allies get within 15 seconds of being summoned.
STATS: Health: 520 (+76 per level) Mana: 345 (+46 per level) Health Regen: 5.52 (+0.55 per level) Mana Regen: 9 (+0.5 per level) Armor: 21 (+3.9 per level) Magic Resist: 30 (+0 per level) Attack Damage: 48 (+3.0 per level) Attack Speed: .63 (+1.8% per level) Movement Speed: 340
Laning: Using her abilities, Ma’leth manipulates the lane to her favor. Wether she’s repositioning her enemies, silencing them, or transporting other champions to the void, Ma’leth is set on making sure her allies come out ahead. She relies solely on her allies to finish off her intended targets. When Ma’leth determines it’s time to take someone out, she can use her Veiled Envoy to separate the enemies and put one of them into her ally’s kill range. After her initial engage, Ma’leth can banish one enemy to the void and silence the isolated one. This grants her ally a great chance to single out her target and burn them down while the other is banished and unable to help. Once the banishment ends, she and her ally can then turn on the returned champion for an easy double kill. Ma’leth can also send her ally into the void to give them a great chance to sneak in for some poke damage on their lane opponents. Extradite is also great to use on a jungler who doesn’t have good gap closing abilities of their own, giving them a perfect chance to gank. If Ma’leth tries to initiate the fight and ends up missing her Veiled Envoy, she will leave herself exposed and give the enemies a perfect opportunity to pick her off.
Team Fights: Instead of using all her abilities on one champion, Ma’leth can spread the torment around. By Banishing one enemy to the void, silencing a second, and teleporting a third out of the immediate fight, Ma’leth can essentially turn a 5v5 into a 5v2. The team can fight the two enemies before turning to the others as they come back from their detainment. Ma’leth can use her ultimate, Declaration of War, to start a team fight or gank. By summoning her team to her location, Ma’leth provides them with the perfect opportunity to out maneuver the opposing team. Ma’leth will have to find a quick way to rejoin her team as she will be sent back the nexus once she uses her ultimate. Ma’leth will want to stay in the back line or on the outskirts of skirmishes until she finds the right moment to sculpt the battle to her will. After she’s used her combo, she’ll want to return to the safety of her team until she is able to rework the fight again.
Alternate build idea: Since Ma’leth is 100% reliant on auto-attacking for damage, build her with attack damage and attack speed items. Play her like an ADC, using her abilities to gain the better positioning and gun down the enemies.
