Pyrum, The Combustion Aspirant

Idea: Create an ADC who uses a flamethrower as a weapon.

**Lore: ** Pyrum worked in a Piltover lab for years under the instruction of a great inventor. Pyrum tried to keep up and comprehend what was happening and what his master was working on, but never really got the hang of it. He began to hate the lab, resented never understanding what he should be doing or how to make his own inventions. There was a portion of the lab he did enjoy however, the flammable chemicals. Pyrum would sneak some out into the small gardens behind the lab and play with them, setting them, and other things, on fire. This continued until one day his master grew angry that the chemicals kept going missing. The master yelled and beat Pyrum, blaming him for so much lost time and research. Pyrum decided that this was no longer a place for him and dedicated himself to building a weapon that could set him free. Over the next several months Pyrum worked in secret, creating and breaking multiple prototypes. He also concocted the perfect fuel, a gel that hardens and explodes when set on fire. The next night when the master became enraged at his failure of an assistant, Pyrum unveiled the flamethrower and ignited his passion for fire and destruction, along with the lab and the master. Pyrum fled to the depths of Zaun and later to the one place he knew he could enjoy and endless stream of firefights and chaos, The League of Legends.

Stats: Health: 535 (+82 per level) Attack Damage: 56 (+3 per level) Attack Speed: .590 (+2.4% per level) Movement Speed: 325 Health Regen: 5.6 (+.55 per level) Armor: 22.6 (+3.2 per level) Magic Resist: 30 (+0 per level)

Running Dry Passive: Pyrum carries fuel tanks for his flamethrower. Abilities and basic attacks cost a % value of this fuel to cast. When his current tank reaches 0%, Pyrum will automatically eject it, throwing it 500 units in the direction he’s facing. The canister will leave a trail of fuel that can be ignited by Pyrum’s abilities and will deal damage to enemy units, equal to 2% of that units’ max health, if they are hit by the explosion. Reloading a new canister will take 2 seconds.

2nd effect: Pyrum’s basic attacks explode on impact with units, dealing 100% to the first unit and 50% damage to units in a small radius around it. Basic attacks cost 5% fuel.

Q: Fuel Bomb Cooldown: 9 seconds Cost: 5% - 100% Range: 700 Cast Type: Line Skillshot Pyrum manually ejects his current fuel canister in a target direction. If it hits an enemy unit, environment, or reaches max range, the canister will explode to deal 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 (+1.0 per AD) to 30 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 (+1.0 per AD) AoE damage, with a blast zone of 100-200 unit radius. The damage and radius of the blast are increased based on the amount of fuel left in the canister when it is ejected. Fuel Bomb will leave a gel trail that gets ignited when Fuel Bomb explodes. Any other gel trails in range of Fuel Bomb’s explosion will also ignite.

W: Incineration Station Cooldown: 30 / 27.5 / 25 / 22.5 / 20 Cost: No Cost Range: 400 Cast Type: Targeted Location
Pyrum places a drill station on the ground that taps into a fuel resource. He can then attach a hose from the station to his flamethrower, granting him unlimited fuel and + 5 / 6.25 / 7.5 / 8.75 / 10% attack damage and attack speed, but slowing him by 20%. Recasting Incineration Station while in range of the drill will cause Pyrum to attach / detach the hose to his weapon. Pyrum’s passive will activate when he attaches to the station and he will need to reload a new canister after detaching. The hose is 500 / 525 / 550 / 575 / 600 units long and will detach if Pyrum exceeds it’s range. Incineration Station can be destroyed by either team, causing the station to explode, dealing magic damage in a 400 unit area. If Pyrum is still linked to the station when it’s destroyed, he will take damage equal to 10% of his current health.

E: Blast Wave Cooldown: 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 Cost: 20% / 30% / 40% Range: 400 / 500 / 600 Cast Type: Cone Skillshot Pyrum primes his weapon, filling it with gel for 1 second before firing a wave in a target conal area. The first enemies hit take 10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 (+80% AP) damage and are snared for 1 second. After 1.5 seconds, the gel explodes for 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+.7 per AD).

R: Inferno Cooldown: 120 / 110 / 100 Cost: 60% Range: 1000 Cast Type: Cone Channel Pyrum adjusts the flame on his weapon and lets loose a stream of fire in a target direction. Pyrum sweeps the stream in a conal area over 3 seconds. Enemies hit by the initial flames take 100 / 125 / 150 (+100% AP) damage and are slowed by 10%. After the 3 seconds, the area covered in gel combusts for 100 / 125 / 150 (+1.0 per bonus AD) damage to all units within.

Rumble ?

Lore: Makes him really unlikeable, since he doesn't just leave and instead kills his mentor for daring to ask him to work properly. Btw there is no League...

P: The second effect is really basic item 3074 and the first effect is made redundant by the Q.

Q: Liking the idea as it fits well thematically. The Q ability usually is the most frequently used so having your last resort there seems wrong.

W: The need to reload after attaching and detaching seems like too much of a downside and doesn't make much sense. Maybe just make his costs 0% and when he detaches he can empty his tank like normal. The explosion adds even more counterplay, since you and your allies potentially get hurt with this ability (drill will usually be near you and not the opponent) and seems too much, as just making the station destroyable and have less range would be enough counterplay (maybe if the station is still connected when destroyed it empties your tank).

E: Not much too say, but with a reduced CD and effect could make a better Q.

R: Does it work like Bullet Time (MF Ult?). Apart from the comparison a nice thematic ability. The slow is way too weak and could be scrapped.

Overall: Gameplaywise he seems a bit bland, with his most unique feature being his sustain with W and having no Mana, which could be empathized more. Some interesting ideas and a very thematic kit. +1 [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

The flamethrower theme is really cool, but as previously mentioned the passive and Q feel a bit too similar. I also really like the idea of spreading fuel and igniting it with abilities/attacks, and would love to see that explored a bit more. Strong AoE plus area denial could be a nice gameplay niche for him : ) Still a really cool idea and I'm excited to see you explore it further
