Hey guys, this is a champion Concept that I thought of. Please tell me what you think of her.

Su the Calligrapher Role: AP Mage, Ranged support Range: 500

GENERAL DESIGN PHILOSOPHY Su is a powerful mage able to bring her creations to life. Her giant paintbrush allows her to create short lived ink creatures that have various uses. Using a mix of snares, skill shots and denial areas, she can trap and damage the enemy before summoning her ink dragon to finish her enemies.

APPEARANCE Su is a battle calligrapher with jet black hair gathered in a heavy braid which tapers off like a brush tip. She is beautiful but has little concern for her own appearance. She wields a 6 ft long (1m82) paintbrush that she uses to speed paint her creatures. She is dressed like a Miko with red wide trousers and a sleeveless white jacket. Courtesy of her upbringing as a war nun, she uses her paintbrush like a bladed spear when in close range. In game, she spins and leaps elegantly while using both her giant paintbrush and braid to quickly draw her creatures.

LORE In the land of Ionia, lives an order of nuns who specialize in the sacred art of calligraphy and Su was the shining example of what not to do. Ever since she was found left there as a baby, Su was something of a free spirit. While the nuns would dutifully copy the sacred scriptures, Su would often sneak out and break the taboo by painting pictures of birds, animals and people in secret. Among all her paintings, her most frustrated efforts went into trying to capture the likeness of the dragon that kept haunting her dreams.

And then one day, as she accidentally pricked her finger, 2 drops of blood dotted the eyes of her upteenth failed attempt and the ink dragon sprang to life. Letting out a huge roar, it grew up to the size of a house and escaped, destroying the halls and ravaging the southern forest.

Su was immediately sent to the confinement cells for breaking the ancient taboo but her imprisonment was short lived. No'Xus, an invader from the Western lands, had heard of the dragon and was already destroying village after village in search of the mage that had summoned a dragon. In a surprising display of generosity, the head nun released Su and gave her a giant paintbrush, the only possession that was found with Su when she was taken as an orphan. But the greatest surprise was afterwards when the head nun then revealed that Su had been left at the orphanage by Ao Shin the Wind Dragon. Su was put on a boat and was told to escape Ionia while the nuns would try their best to fool the invader.

Free for the first time after a life spent in a convent, Su wanders the land trying to escape the Noxian soldiers and searching for her dragon.

GAMEPLAY CORE CONCEPTS

  • Su is a summoner. She calls powerful creatures to fight for her. High dps, High scaling
  • Her strength is in her summons, by herself she is quite vulnerable
  • Summons are typically short-lived, they make a flashy entrance, wreck the landscape then leave. This is deliberately opposite to D&D summoning who call temporary allies in order to be different from Azir, Annie, Malzahar and Yorick.
  • Summons require a lot of resources. Either mana, time or health.
  • Summons can typically revolt against their summoner.

Auto Attack: When attacking from afar, she sends sparrows that look like the / that we draw in kindergarten. When in melee range, she hacks and slashes with her paintbrush as if she's wielding a bladed spear.

Passive: Soul of an artist Nothing except death will stop Su from painting. When out of mana, she will use her health to continue casting. Casting from health costs (Mana cost x 1.5 + 50 )HP and gives an additional +25% ap. 60s cooldown

Q: Forest snake Low damage, fast projectile Skill Shot Passive: Autoattacks apply blind for 1 second every 10s Active: Su launches a snake that travels in line and snares the first enemy unit hit. If you press and hold Q, you can charge up and gain more range up to 800 range total. If the snake hits a terrain it will bounce and continue until max range. DMG: 50 / 90 / 130 / 170 / 210 (+ 50% AP) SNARE DURATION: 1.0 /1.2/1.4/1.6/1.8 MANA COST: 50 MANA Every Rank MAX CHARGE TIME: 5 seconds COOLDOWN: 12/11/10/9/8 seconds from start of charge time

W: Mountain tiger DPS ability, high mana cost Active: Su paints a 10s persistent tiger that LEAPS fwd 500 in the direction of the cursor dealing magic damage and slowing all enemies by 30% on its path. Pressing ALT + Click lets her reposition her tiger for half mana with a 2nd leap. Tigers die after 2nd leap. _Note: Tigers are physical and are destroyed with 3 AA or skill shots BUT BLOCK THEM. Tigers can be cc'ed but can't be slowed or blinded. They can leap over walls and hide in bush. For the sake of unit collision management, Su sommersaults backwards 100 as part of her casting animation. _ DMG: 80/130 / 180 / 230 / 280/ (+ 85% AP) COST: 100 / 115 / 130 / 145 /160 MANA RANGE: 500 per leap CASTING TIME: 1s / .5s on 2nd leap COOLDOWN: 12s

E: Autumn Crane Utility, movement, defense, engage, disengage Passive. Mana regen increased by 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 / 15 per second, disabled while active is in use and while on cooldown. Active: Su draws a bird that allows her to fly a little distance. Range 400 MANA COST: 40 Cooldown: 20 Seconds

R: Ancient River Dragon Chanelling, variable damage, variable mana, super nuke Su spins and leaps and draws her dragon adding more and more details and charging him up.
The more you press and hold R before releasing it, the more your dragon will do damage and travel further. Dragon will then rampage in a straight line damaging and knocking champions back or aside, bouncing on walls and destroying all player terrain. Visually, it looks like a furious river rampaging through the river bed. The more you channel, the more mana you consume. Su CAN move when charging but is otherwise unable to do anything else. her ms is reduced by 20%

MANA COST: 100 Initially, +40 Mana per second, minimum cost 180. Can use HP if no mana Minimum Channel time: 2 Seconds Maximum Channel time: 10 Seconds

Damage: 50 (+50 Per second Channeled) (+60% AP )/ 100 (+ 100 Per second) (+120% AP) / 150 (+150 Per second) + (180 % AP) Missile Speed: 100 Units per second Max range: 2500 If Su is interrupted, River dragon explodes dealing 78.125 / 109.375 / 140.625 (+ 31.25% AP). Knocking back and blinding both enemies and allies in an area around her for 2s.

Gameplay Fitting for a painter, Su needs time to create her masterpieces and set up her damaging spells. Her playstyle revolves setting up Tigers and snaring enemies for her allies until she has time to charge up her Dragon. Her kit is especially devastating if she manages to catch people in the jungle thanks to her Tigers and ultimate. All her abilities cost a lot mana and skilled champions will have to decide if they want to tap her health for more damage but leave her vulnerable or increase her mana for safer plays but less damage.

I have to say I love this!! I'm an artsy person so I would kill to play this champ for theme alone.
Now idk if missed it or not but what was she supposed to main as, I see her as an ap mid or support. As for her abilities they all seem balance to me it would be easier to tell with base damage and scaling though. I do think they are pretty widely varied but i think that goes really well with her as a character. Also really enjoyed the lore. If you ever want I love to do at so I can sketch up some looks for her if you want :)

Best concept I have seen in a long while. The idea of a champion drawing "traps" on the ground that come to life if an enemy champion comes close is very cool, but it's also from a gameplay standpoint strategically interesting since you can use it to zone in unique ways. Unlike teemo's lameshrooms, the enemy being able to see it gives it far more interesting counter play.

Ok guys, I need your feedback, what if I changed Su's E and W to the following?

W - **FLAME TIGER **- DPS ability Upon cast, Su creates an immobile tiger. Using ALT + Click, tiger LEAPS for a fixed distance and does magic damage to all enemies on its path.

E - **SPRING CRANE **- Escape and Utility Upon cast, Su paints a giant bird then leaps on its back to glide a little distance. Charging E for longer then letting go lets her glide for longer. When gliding, she is immune to melee abilities and melee AA but is still vulnerable to skill shots and ranged AA. The purpose of Spring Crane is to keep her distance from the battle field to attack from afar where her abilities are best used. Short press gives a 150 distance dash. Similar to Vi's vault breaker

I need your opinion on this guys, what do you think?

  • Reworked her E - Millenium Crane. Vision A dash utility that grants high mana regen

I still haven't done her stats though. I kinda suck at this. Any help is welcome.

What do you guys think of her new kit? Do you think that I should remove the bounce from her Q? Should I keep the blind? Should we give her a super small base mana? Is it OP to be able to cast from life points? What would be the best itemization path? Could you suggest a recommended skill order if we want her to be AP? Could you suggest a recommended skill order if we want her to be support?

All criticisms, good or bad are welcome. I will gladly trade reviews on your champ if you promise not to be too harsh :)

While I DO have my own champion concepts to take care of (and try to bring some attention to), I am still somewhat rooting for Su. A painter in the League still seems like a pretty interesting idea.

I like this, a lot, but it could be a little bit overpowered. Building spellvamp and now you have the vlad effect, making her absolutely brutal. The cost also has to be increased by proxy? I actually made a character with this very same mechanic and Love the concept behind it.

Changes:

Passive: Soul of an artist Nothing except death will stop Su from painting. When out of mana, she will use her health to continue casting. Casting from health gives a higher AP ratio. Increased cost is 20 hp on top of regular mana cost. Increased AP Ratio by 60%

If the snake hits a terrain it will bounce and continue its way until 600 range total. I like this move a lot. A lot. And seems like a fun idea. You could even make it an annoying spammable move really if you wanted to, at the cost of mana gating. I'd say something like 50 / 90 / 130 / 170 / 210 (+ 50% AP) SNARE DURATION: 0.2 / 0.4 / 0.6 / 0.8 / 1.0 MANA COST: 40 MANA Every Rank

If the snake hits a wall it will bounce and continue its way until 600 range total. Hold Q to draw up to 3 extra snakes along the ground as you walk from point to point. After letting go of q the snakes fire off in the direction they were painted (costing 10 more mana per snake.) A target can only by snared by forest snake once every 3 seconds.

Cooldown After Letting go of Q: 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 seconds.

W: Mountain tiger DPS ability, high mana cost, 8s cooldown Passive: Decreases cooldown of all abilities. Active: Su draws a sleeping tiger on the ground where she stands. Sleeping tigers last for 45s Sleeping tigers instantly wakeup and detonate when enemies walk on the center, dealing damage. Max 2-3 tigers. Enemies can aa the tigers to prevent detonation. Fun feature: If you press ALT + click, you can wake up all your tigers and make them pounce for a fixed distance in the direction of your cursor for 0 mana. Woken up tigers can block skill shots but last only 8s. Levelling W eventually allows you to make them pounce twice.

The passive cdr seems a little much and with such a powerful utility full kit already she might be a little bit broken with that. Especially with already low cooldowns. I do like the micromanagement aspect of the tigers. DAMAGE: 120 / 190 / 260 / 330 / 400 (+ 110% AP) COST: 70 / 85 / 100 / 115 / 130 MANA

Proposed Changes!

Woken up tigers are destroyed by skill shots, and only last for 8 seconds Woken tigers deal 50% less damage if they hit an enemy At rank 3, tigers can pounce twice At rank 5 tigers can pounce three times.

E: Millenium Crane Utility, movement, defense, engage, disengage Passive. Greatly increases her mana regeneration. Active: Su draws a bird that allows her to glide a little distance. The longer you press E before releasing it, the farther you can glide.

Good idea, balance it with mana, gives us a little bit of a dibs utility. Nice. I dont really wanna change this much at all.

MANA COST: 40 Per second Cooldown: 20 Seconds

Dragon will then rampage in a straight line damaging and knocking champions back or aside If the dragon hits a wall, it will bounce off the wall and change its trajectory, increasing its missile speed by 20% The Dragon destroys champion created terrain and pets Champions can be hit multiple times if they move into the path of it again, but can only be hit once per knock away

I think this is... sufficient? I'll come back to it when I have more time!

Hi everyone, this is a huge final update on her stats and figures. A huge thanks to Snow Taradien for helping me fix her stats. I owe you big time man.

As discussed, I reworked her W and E. Tigers now give more sustained damage and are simpler to use for a much bigger mana cost. Sufficient cd reduction can allow you to cast 2 tigers. Players now have to think when to use them. They can invest in mana items for a safe but low dmg game, or invest in mana regen for burst. Tigers are now targetable and can be killed before doing dmg, if skilled enough. They block dmg and provide counter play as enemies can now stun them instead of stunning Su. Hopefully, 2nd leap is not overpowered and should be dodgeable if the enemy is skilled enough. I'm a bit afraid that i provided too much counterplay but I can't know for sure unless I test her live in game.

E is now a simple dash. Its intended use is to either get away or come close to land 2 leaps on a blinded enemy. High risk high reward plays.

Ultimate can now dmg only once. I looked at the figures and it looked really overpowered to have 150 (+1500) + (180 % AP) hit thrice, let alone 3x. Also I completely forgot to add an effect if she's interrupted. Now it's fixed.

This unfortunately means that Su's development is almost finished. The only things left are her taunt and joke lines and all suggestions are welcome. I won't really update her kit and i will only tweak her figures because while she may look cool, there is above all a project for fun and there is little chance that Riot will publish her or at least publish her any time soon and mention us even if we pester them 24/7. Meanwhile, I would like to move on to a Voodoo Bilgewater Support as my new champion concept.

Thank you all for your interest. I won't bump her on the threads if I don't have any new content but anyone is welcome to publish any cool ending scenario for her (like, how do you think that she should end her quest? Liberate the villages taken over by Noxus? Take over the monastery after the death of the head nun? Ascend to become a dragon? Die in her old age after a lifetime perfecting her paintings? Help Karma or get in a fight with her? Should she meet Shyvanna? What does she think of her)

Finally, stay tuned for an artwork that I comissioned from my friend. So far, I managed to blackmail him into leaving his couch, so we should be getting an artwork in only 1 month. Yay!

I LOVE THIS IDEA! What would make her annoying to play, however, is those channel times. Does she deal a whole ton of damage to counter this issue? But other than that, she is a well-thought out concept, who I would love to play, regardless of those ability chains, and she seems to be a great fit in LoL.
