Jörmungandr - Champion Concept

Jörmungandr or "the World Serpent" is this huge snake from Norse mythology also known to be one of Loki's sons (everyone knows Loki cuz of Marvel but that Loki is a tad different) anyways I simply think Riot could design an amazing champion just based off of him, when it comes to new champions we're mainly seeing humanoids being released and IMHO that gets a little boring, I'm being kinda biased because I really like snakes but still, I think Riot should consider basing something off of Jörmungandr in the future because that would be awesome!

For the sole reason of, this is not Smite. Yes I'm aware we have Wukong (who ironically was in League before he hit Smite)). But that doesn't explain the sudden appearance of a snake that is giant.

We get mostly humanoid champions because they are far easier to animate than animalistic champions.

And even the animalistic ones we get are either fully or partially anthromorphized

While getting some more champions that fit the animalistic theme would be nice, it has to fit thematically within the lore of League.

Actually...idk if this fits the bill of "World Serpent"...but there's a concept of Voidling's that this takes me to from awhile back.

His idea was essentially a large creature with multiple hitboxes that was was weaker to AoE but super resistant to single-target damage. Also, it was basically an Alaskan Bull Worm...which isn't a snake...but the moment you brought up "massive creature" it came to mind.

id love to see another beast champ too even a simple lion looking champ would be nice but seeing something like another bristle or one of them elephant things we saw that live in ionia would be nice ... human based champs are kinda boring atm

While wandering around as a giant serpent would be amazing, there's a whole lot of problems involved in it, and a lotta design rules that League set beforehand that would make it so that this wouldn't be incredibly possible. Reminder that Aurelion Sol's size was a huge issue during development-- especially his tail, which they removed from his hit box. The same goes to Cassiopeia. Long hitboxes aren't great. Additionally, humanoids are generally just more popular than monstrous Champions; this's been mentioned a couple times by Riot, and is probably why we're seeing less and less of them.

Smite has Jormungandr. He's pretty cool. Also have you seen the anime by the same name? Nothing to do with the legend but it's great.

Aurelion Sol perhaps? Dragons are essentially snakes with variations in wings/legs
