Support Champion Idea?

Does anyone else think that we should get a Support Assassin? Maybe bring the supports out of the background and into the forefront a bit.

It sounds hard to do, and if it became strong would quickly be nerfed.

The character would have to land a set up spell, probably a low speed, skinny hitbox, low damage (maybe with a slow) to begin her burst.

Sounds like Nidalee.

I was thinking with more cc than Nid has. like being able to get in, do some damage, provide cc and peel, but get out kinda like Zed or LB if the fight turns the wrong way. Basically the mobility of an assassin, but stuns like leo and buffs like janna. The stuns a short aoe stun that has to be fired close range rather than fired from say a bush.

That sounds massively overpowered, overloaded, and annoying. I'm against it.

It would have to have horrible low damage, otherwise you aren't making a support, just a monster. If it had damage, it would be too viable, especially when some supports COUGHSONACOUGH already have a hard time just from people sneezing at them.

Don't all champion ideas start off as too op? Remember the release of LB? That nurf she received quickly after her release?

Just because a champion was released OP, doesn't mean that everything after it is suddenly given a pass.

The idea of an assassin support hybrid, to me, is something that just can't happen. Support provides support to a team so they can kill a target (through heals. stuns, movement speed buffs, shields, whatever lulus polymorph is considered), and the other kills a target. If you allow it to stun/CC anywhere near the power of Leona, while bringing even a moderate amount of damage, as well as the ability to remove itself from a fight if it initiated badly, it would be... Well it'd just be Leona 2.0 (or 3.0 if you think Braum is 2.0).

I don't want another champion that, from the sound of it on paper, is just a Lee Sin or Zed with some more effective utility added in, I'm sorry.

Then it wouldn't be a support. They would just leave the ADC to die in order to kill people. It would be extremely awkward, like taking katarina bot lane.

Not if you gave it a link like Kalista has, and also we have Fighter Supports

That would be interesting but like I said it wouldn't fit the role of a support. Yes there are fighter supports but fighters are tanky and have CC to peel. An assassin can't have a lot of CC and are supposed to burst squishys. Usually it's tanky champs that jump on ADCs. If you made an assassin support that could burst tanks it would just be broken.

You can use an assassin to support if you want... But if you had an assassin support it wouldn't be a support. Redundant thought.

Maybe if the champion had the ability to switch between the the two roles
