Lars, the Ace Archer (Remake #1)
Description: I wanted to remake my concept on Lars. A long time ago, I made this concept based on Lars Andersen's practice of ancient archery. Yes, I named this character after the real Lars. This character, like Lars Andersen, is the type of archer who uses techniques of long forgotten ancient archery, especially ever since guns were invented. One example is how the arrows are held. People today hold the arrow from the left of the bow. Lars Andersen discovers that archers from the past hold the arrows from the right side of the bow. So in game, you would see my champion shoot the arrow from the right side of the bow. I've shown the video before but if you don't remember or haven't seen it, here it is.

Okay, time for the concept.
Roles: Primary - Marksman Secondary - Fighter Of course he's mainly a marksman but because he's more effective at close range, I'd consider him a fighter as well.
Attack - 75% Health - 45% Magic - 20% Difficulty - 80%
Secondary Bar: Quiver
Health - 500-1800 Health Regen - 5-14 Quiver - 50 (Increases up to 200 by level 18) Range - 500 Attack Damage - 50-100 Attack Speed - 1.0 (+0%-75%) Armor - 20-70 Magic Resist - 30 Movement Speed - 325 He has similar stats compared to Ashe. Though, like you see, he uses a different secondary bar called Quiver. I'll get into the details down below.
Abilities:
Passive - Resourceful
As Lars uses his abilities and basic attacks to shoot arrows, they can still be picked up and shot again. Lars starts off with a full quiver. Each basic attack costs one arrow. Certain abilities cost a certain amount of arrows. Picking up these arrows increases Lars's attack speed by 10% of his total attack speed. He can also take out arrows already struck upon enemy champions, dealing 10% true damage (ouch). If the Quiver is at zero, Lars can only use basic attacks but can still pick up arrows to refill his quiver.
To pick up the arrows, simply move over them. You can do the same to enemies struck by the arrow, dealing tons of damage just by pulling them out. You can also steal arrows from a rival Lars, much like how you can steel an enemy
's Axe after it is thrown.
First Ability - Multi-Shot This ability allows Lars to shoot up to ten arrows at once but will have a 1.5-5 second delay to draw the arrows. Once finish drawing, Lars gains additional attack speed until he runs out of arrows from his draw hand. This deals 10-15 damage per shot and it costs up to 10 arrows depending on how long you want to keep drawing arrows from the quiver. Drawing arrows will not hinder Lars's movement but he is unable to attack while drawing his arrows.
Second Ability - Bow Hand Flick Lars uses his bow hand to flick the bow forward to give the arrow more force and power. Once active, Lars will have an increase range for his next attack, dealing 10% additional damage and have 20% additional range.
Third Ability - Long Distance Quick Shots Lars's converts his basic attacks to long range shots, doubling the attack range of all his abilities. This will however convert each homing shot into a lobe shot that can be evaded. But if it lands on an enemy, it will deal 50 attack damage and critically strike, dealing 10% more damage. This attack is suppose to be hard to land since it's a single target attack.
Ultimate - Ultimate Archery
Lars starts to free run, giving him 10 seconds of additional movement speed and attack speed (As fast as
's ultimate, Highlander). While active, Lars can jump over small terrain. Lars's basic attacks will not hinder his movement so he is able to shoot arrows while on the move. However, each shot is a skill shot so each shot can be missed.
I'm not sure if I'm doing the ability stats right. I could use some help.
Lore:
Long time ago, before guns were invented, archers use to be one of the most deadliest long range warriors ever existed due to the use of some of the most fastest shooting techniques ever practiced. But when guns were created, these techniques were long forgotten. Even the famous frost archer, Queen Ashe
, is unaware of these ancient archery techniques.
However, Lars, an archaeologist of ancient weaponry did some research on ancient archery. He believed that archers can still be as deadly as a gunner. Perhaps much deadlier. Sure, the queen Ashe is already deadly enough to shoot a gunner but Lars knows there could be an archer deadlier than ones that exist today.
Lars studied how modern archers use the bow and arrow. Modern archers carry a quiver on their back. Lars use that same type of quiver as he moves quickly. Unfortunately, the arrows are always falling out of the quiver or getting stuck on tree branches. There was time where he accidentally got an arrow stuck on the branch of a twisted treant
while he was moving. He learns that most archers from the past also placed quivers on the hip and the arrows were well placed inside to make sure they don't fall out while on the move. Modern archers would mostly stand still to shoot a standing target. This type of archer was not known in the past. To shoot this way, arrows placed on the left side of the bow as they are drawn from the back quiver. This is so they could aim the arrow at a two dimensional target like how you would aim down your sights while using a gun. This did not work for Lars's Hip Quiver because as he draws the arrow, he keeps hitting the bow on the right side and he will have to carry the arrow of the bow, making a longer delay to shoot each arrow. Lars then discovers on old pictures of ancient archers, that every one of the archers shoot the arrow from the right side of the bow, enabling them to draw and shoot an arrow at a single motion, making shooting a lot faster. He began practicing and learned how to reuse the arrows while on the move. This has led to him able to perform the techniques of ancient archers with ease. He also learned that archers use the bow hand to flick the arrow as it is shot to give it more force. Using this technique, Lars was able to shoot an arrow through a thick layer of armor. There were myths of archers being able to grab arrows while they are flying and shoot them back. It's dangerous but Lars manage to master this myth. He even made an ultimate trick where he shot an arrow flying directly at him, splitting it in half with his own arrow. People were amazed at his archery skills so they recruited him into the military.
Once he had a mission to raid a Zuan campsite. The soldiers there were heavily armed with guns and explosives. But using what Lars had practiced, he shot every one of these soldiers on the heads and necks without a single bullet striking him. His fellow soldiers that went along with him didn't have to do anything. They were literally watching Lars shoot an entire campsite of gunners with a plain bow and arrow.
Lars began training people who wanted to learn these techniques so he went into further research into finding ways to teach archers with a simple instructions manual.
It was not long until Lars was ready to put ancient archery to the test in the Fields of Justice. Lars awaited his next match, ready to shoot ten inevitable arrows at once, turning his targets into pin cushions.
"Guns are overrated. They can't kill the target if the bullet stays inside. An arrow however. . . well. . . these soldiers will need to be hospitalized as soon as I shoot one at their knees." - Lars
Synergy:
Works well with -
By penetrating enemy armor with his gatling gun, Lars's shots will cause more damage while they are naked from their armor pieces. He could take out a tank in just seconds as long as he keeps up with the armor penetration.
Placing medical packs while roaming in the jungle is a good use for a traveling archer like Lars, especially when he needs to get away or go after an enemy. Especially when Bard makes use of magical journey.
Slowing critically slowing down enemies, it makes it easier for Lars to shoot his arrows at the distant target with Long Distance Quick Shots as he snipes from a distance. By the time he gets to the enemy, pulling all those arrows out is going to be very painful.
Struggles against -
Using blinding darts prevent Lars from landing any arrow, even if he uses his abilities, he will still miss his shots. To make matters worse, a roaming archer must becareful of poison mushrooms. They could really hinder your movement.
Braum is made to shield allies from incoming projectiles, like the time he saved a little poro from a giant wave of arrows. Shooting arrows is useless for Lars if Braum's door keeps blocking the way.
Wind can change the direction of a moving projectile, even a bullet can't shoot straight. Yasuo's wind wall is also made for blocking projectiles. By staying behind the windwall, Lars is unable to land his arrows on any of his targets.
Tips:
-
Playing as Lars >Use all your abilities at once for a massive shooting combo. >Ultimate Archery is also useful for evading. Make sure small terrain is open for you to make your escape or for chasing. >Try to keep moving. Most of your attacks will not hinder your movement. You are especially effective when shooting arrows at an enemy while chasing them.
-
Playing against Lars >If you are hit by an arrow, whatever you do, stay away from Lars. Attack him but keep your distance. The arrows will wear off in 2 seconds after it is shot. You will not take damage overtime. >Lars is very light. He may have lethal shots but he is vulnerable to attacks that are just as lethal. Turn your focus on Lars as he enters team fights. >Lars may be able to move over terrain with Ultimate Archery but he can still be hindered with spells. Use crowd control to prevent Lars from catching up to dying teammates or to prevent him from getting away from ally chasers.
