Overview Pete is my idea of an ideal fighter/diver champion. He is based loosely around some existing champions but also has a unique identity in terms of lore and playstyle.

Background The Protectorate, a name as old as history itself, was once a great warrior nation. The cities of the Protectorate, numerous as they were, flourished under the rule of Emperor Al'Banjax Oreifeed. Their lands sprawled across Valoran, their borders expanding as their mighty armies pushed into new lands, under the banners of the White Triangle.

All Protectorate warriors lived by a code. They were fiercely loyal to the Emperor, dispensed justice against evildoers, and sparked controversy whenever they forced their values upon tribes and nations that they deemed morally undeveloped. The greatest of the Protectorate was an indomitable warrior named Pete. Pete was a shining example of an ideal Protectorate, strong, dauntless, and valiant. His name was whispered in awe amongst the commoners, in the noble keeps and the training grounds, every man and woman striving to live up to Pete's legacy of conquest.

The greatest of the Protectorate warriors were granted what was believed to be the greatest gift of all; unending life. The secret to immortality had been discovered by an allied nation, the Magelords. Every ten years, the greatest warrior of his generation would be gifted with life everlasting by the highest magi. In return, the Protectorate stood against the enemies of the Magelords, demons and otherworldly beings glancing off Protectorate shields.

Everything changed when the Magelord nation attacked.

The Magelords rained fire and death from within the Protectorate's own walls. Staggering from the betrayal, the Protectorate armies crumbled, destroyed by the relentless assault of magic that rained from the skies. As the decimated Protectorate nation retreated back to lick its wounds, Pete the Penguin decided to rally the last of his battalion to make a stand against the Magelords and take back their nation's capital.

However, before Pete himself could lead the troops to battle, he disappeared, and a shifty foreigner named Ai Trochs or whatever came and stole his position at the head of the army.

For millennia, Pete's inexplicable disappearance was debated hotly among scholars. Until very recently, the essence of Pete was called back to the world by a bunch of retconned summoners Pete reappeared. Devastated to see that his nation was no more, Pete dedicated the rest of his life to rebuilding the army of a nation that once was.

Playstyle Pete is a light fighter with good mobility and mixed damage suited to top lane or jungle. He has natural resistances to help him survive waddling in and out of the fray, and AoE damage to ensure that he is a threat in teamfights. He excels in skirmishes, where he can make full use of his mobility. However, his easily interruptible abilities make him vulnerable to champions with large amounts of CC. Pete has to wait for key opportunities in fights before he can unleash his damage.

Abilities Passive - Penguin Rage Every basic attack gives Pete the Penguin 1 stack of Penguin Rage, up to 6 stacks. For every stack of Penguin Rage, Pete deals 1%/1.5%/2% increased damage with his abilties. Q - Valiant Strikes 30/40/50/60/70 mana, 10/9/8/7/6 second CD Pete's next three basic attacks strike in an area around him for 15/30/45/60/75 (+110% AD) around him. For every enemy hit by Valiant Strikes, Pete gains 5/6.25/7.5/8.75/10 armor and magic resist for 2 seconds. The third strike slows enemies by 20% for 3 seconds. W - Rally 80 mana at all ranks, 20/18/16/14/12 second CD Passive - Pete deals 10/15/20/25/30 (+10% AP) magic damage on his basic attacks when near allied champions. Active: Pete lets out a shrill squawk that inspires nearby allies, granting them 10%/15%/20%/25%/30% movespeed and granting them a 50/70/90/110/130 shield for 5 seconds. E - Grand Slam 20/30/40/50/60 mana, 10 second CD Pete leaps into the air and slams down on a target area, dealing 40/60/80/100/120 (+50% bonus AD) (+100% AP) to all targets. If Pete has 6 stacks of Penguin Rage, Pete can reactivate this ability to send out a shockwave that deals the same amount of damage and slows all enemies hit by 50% for 3 seconds. R - Champion of the Protectorate 100 mana, 90/80/70 CD Passive: Pete's death timer is reduced by 20% Pete fills himself with the power of a lost nation, channeling briefly for 1.5 seconds before releasing 5 fiery triangular projectiles from his eyes in the direction of the cursor. These projectiles explode upon hitting an enemy champion, dealing 800 true damage in a small radius. The cooldown of this ability is refreshed by 20 seconds for every enemy champion Pete kills with this ability.

Recommended builds item 3068 item 3025 item 3065 item 3742 item 3053 This is a cancerous broken build that works on everything. Therefore, it also works on Pete. item 1400 item 3071 item 3074 item 3053 item 3026 This is a jungle build with more damage, though still with a good amount of beefiness. item 3117 item 3742 item 3056 This is a troll build to feed with. Because of Pete's reduced death timer, he is also a great pick for when someone bans your main in champ select and you want to get them back.
