(Concept) Here's my idea for the first Utility Assassin Melee Support. Hear me out, it's a Yordle.

Ready to read something interesting? This is an idea I've had knocking around in my head for almost a year now, and I figured it was time to write it down somewhere before I forgot the concept entirely.

So, lets break it down some first. "A utility assassin? What the hell is that??" you may ask. And that's an extremely good question... Moving on! "A melee assassin support? How the hell is that going to work??" you may also be wondering. Things will become more clear the farther you get I promise, this concept takes a little explaining. But I GARENtee it's unique. ;)

Alright, I'm not going to lie, this is my first champion concept. I've put nearly an entire day worth of work into this post, so please don't downvote it until you've seen it all. It's a little out there, but I really believe there are some good ideas here. I'll start with the character's name and backstory.

Pocket, the Black Alley Rat.

Very rarely is a Yordle born with black fur, even more rare does it stay black as they come of age. Within the yordle community, to have black fur is to be cursed. Said to born with great power but also bring misfortune and death to all they come into contact with. The yordles, as bright as they may be, are not without their superstitions. It was a yordle such as this, a "black rat", that was found abandoned on the doorstep of an orphanage within Bandle City one night.

The Matron of the orphanage, accepted the young yordling without hesitation and raised him, quietly keeping the world oblivious to his presence. He was given the name Pocket by the other kids in the orphanage. He was extremely quick-witted and above average intelligence. He would enjoy the treats the Matron would bake. Free from the worries of the outside world, he lived the life of a child happily. Until one day, when a child of the orphanage unwittingly gave his presence away to the superstitious townsfolk beyond the gates of his home.

Late in the night he was stolen away without a whisper, and thrown into the pit of a ship bound for Bilgewater. He found himself terrified of his new environment. He hid within the cargo pit for a little over a day, before his yordle curiosity got the better of him. He saw people in shapes and heights he never knew were possible. The crew, aware of the situation, began laughing upon seeing him poking his head out timidly from below deck. They were being paid handsomely to take this supposedly "cursed" child as far away from Bandle City as possible after all. The voyage was relatively short compared to most other trips, a few weeks at worst. In that time, Pocket heard many stories about the world he never knew existed including why he was kidnapped. He began to like the crew and learned many things that would help him greatly in Bilgewater. He also learned that his supposed curse, had some merit. He could cause fortune for himself at the misfortune of others, just by thinking about it.

About one year passed, and Pocket learned how to live on his own in Bilgewater. The gift he had kept him out of danger for the most part. His preferred way to make money was playing cards in taverns. He's never once lost at cards, despite being so young. His biggest payoff in cards had to be the time when he was scouting a new tavern to make some money off of. When a slim, well-dressed man came into the tavern boasting how he's never been beaten. Within the hour the mysterious man had beaten 7 people, and had a large pile of gold. Pocket could sense people were beginning to suspect the young man of cheating, and he could tell the man knew that as well. So right as the man was standing up, Pocket placed himself at the table directly across from him. He produced a large sack of gold, nearly equal to what the man had already earned. Their eyes met, and without speaking the man knew what the yordle wanted. All or nothing. The man smiled as he dragged his fingers across the brim of his expensive hat and sat down, eager to take the money of any fool willing to give it to him.

Within minutes the man was sitting dumbfounded as the yordle smugly dragged his gold away from him. He had never lost before. After letting the realization sink in that he was just beaten by a yordle he smiled, and chuckled to himself. Standing up he pulled a card from his coat and handed it to the yordle, then left smiling without a word. The card read; "I'd appreciate it if we never talk about this. --T.F."

Once a person lives in Bilgewater for twenty years, you develop roots in the underworld. Pocket was no different, he earned the respect of the underworld's leaders at a young age and was given control over a part of the Black Market, known as the Black Alley. After that he became rather infamously well known for two things. His relic dagger, and his rate of success when it came to certain... discrete activities. When it came to stealing there were no equals. Always in the right place at the right time, never in a tight spot, always a ghost. Either involved in person or through his Black Alley network, Pocket has had a hand in almost every notable criminal activity for over a decade. Whether it's a heist in Piltover, to an assassination in Noxus, or a scientific "experiment" escaping in Zaun. His eyes and ears are far reaching and he knows many secrets. And during those years he developed a keen sense for locating relics and artifacts, for a price of course. He's a jack of all trades, always willing to be involved where there's gold to be made.

"It's not that he's lucky, he just knows how to use bad luck." - Tobias Fate

"They called me a Black Rat, I just smiled and said thanks. Then I jumped at them and yelled boo really loud. The look on their faces. Priceless..." - Pocket

"Did you hear about the time I stole the crown of King "I'm Helping"? No? Yeah, probably not..." - Pocket

Allies: Jinx, Miss Fortune, Twisted Fate, Graves, Ekko, Zac, Lulu, Lucian, Ezreal, Ryze, Riven, Yasuo, Vayne, Gnar Rivals: Caitlyn, Vi, Viktor, Mundo, Gangplank, Teemo, Jayce, Swain

Well there's a rough version of his background. I'm no writer, though I guess I wrote a book anyway. I'd also like to throw in an idea I had. The reason Caitlyn's 'Yordle Snaptrap' has a cupcake on it, is because Caitlyn's way of luring Pocket. Since the Orphanage Matron used to bake cupcakes for him when he was a child.

Now for the idea that makes this character unique, and as far as I know, there is no character in any moba that has this. He uses Gold as his resource. I'm not entirely sure if that's viable or not. But I think it could be a very interesting idea to play with. So I will get on with some of the ideas I've played with for his kit. It may get a little complex, but it can't be worse than Jhin's or Tahm's math right?

Passive - Cut their Purse / Bait them with greed

  • When striking enemy champions with a basic attack Pocket steals 10 gold, increasing to 15/20/25/30 gold when a basic attack critically strikes. Can only steal gold once every 9/7/5/3 seconds. Gold that is stolen fills Pocket's Wealth bar, to a maximum of 100/180/255/330.

  • Upon dying Pocket empties his wealth bar, dropping the Pile of Gold he has stolen onto the ground revealing a small area around it to allies. The first enemy that walks within 100 units of the Pile of Gold become revealed for 10 seconds and charmed for 1.5/1.75/2/2.25 seconds, walking slowly toward the pile. If the charm expires while the affected enemy is within 50 units of the Pile of Gold they are stunned for .5 seconds and gain the debuff Selfish Greed. If the charmed enemy is afflicted with any hard CC before the charm ends they will not pick up the gold. Instead the Pile of Gold will become activate-able. The first player to activate it will be stunned for 1 second, and acquire the debuff Selfish Greed. 120s cooldown.

  • Once Pocket has filled his wealth bar completely, he may give the gold to an allied champion of his choice. 600/480/360/240s cooldown.

  • Selfish Greed lasts for 20 seconds. Upon the expiration of Selfish Greed the player will be awarded gold equal to the amount dropped by Pocket's Pile of Gold, enemy players gain Blood Bounty. If a player dies while afflicted with Selfish Greed they will drop the gold they picked up, creating a new Pile of Gold that will affect any player that walks over it.

  • Blood Bounty is a stacking debuff. The Blood Bounty is satisfied upon killing a marked target, generating gold equal to the amount the enemy player has earned from Selfish Greed. Granting an ally that lands the killing blow on a marked target, half of the Blood Bounty. If Pocket receives an assist on an enemy with Blood Bounty he is awarded the other half of the bounty. If Pocket lands the killing blow on an enemy afflicted with Blood Bounty he receives the full bounty.

(Isn't that just the simplest passive you've ever seen? It would be pretty easy to understand in the game I assure you. It just looks daunting with a wall of text.)

Q - Luck's Reach RANGE: 850/875/900/925/950 COOLDOWN: 22/19/16/13/10s

  • Pocket channels for 1.5 seconds placing a Sigil of Luck at his feet, then blinks to a target location dealing 90/120/150/180/210 (+50% AD)physical damage on arrival and creating another Sigil of Luck. Pocket also gains 15/30/45/60/75% attack speed for 5 seconds on arrival. Cooldown is reset on assists only.

  • Sigils of Luck last indefinitely, until they are Activated or consumed.

W - Wrong Place, Wrong Time RANGE: 1250/100 COOLDOWN: 20/17/14/11/9s

  • After 1 second Pocket activates a Sigil of Luck for 3 seconds turning it into trap. After 3 seconds the sigil deactivates and is consumed. While active, the first enemy to touch the sigil takes 70/90/110/130/150 (+80% AD) physical damage and is slowed for 60% decaying over 3 seconds. If the enemy has Blood Bounty they are instead stunned for 1.6/1.7/1.8/1.9/2 seconds and take 50% more damage from the ability.

E - Right Place, Right Time RANGE: 1750/100 COOLDOWN: 60s

  • After 1.5 seconds Pocket activates every Sigil of Luck in a large radius for 5 seconds. Any ally that walks over an activated sigil will consume it and receive 20/25/30/35/40 AD, AP, Armor and Magic Resist for 5 seconds. Each ally may only consume 1 Sigil of Luck, Pocket can not consume any Sigils of Luck. After 5 seconds all activated Sigils of Luck are consumed.

  • Any Sigils of Luck created after Right Place, Right Time has been cast will not be activated or consumed.

R - The Black Rat's Curse COST: 15 Wealth per second. COOLDOWN: 150/120/90

  • Passive - Each point into the Black Rat's Curse causes Pocket to benefit more from others misfortune, enhancing his passive abilities.

  • Active - Pocket lets go of compassion and allows his curse to threaten the lives of all he comes into contact with, changing his abilities. Cut their Purse is changed into Cut their Throat. Critical strike chance is doubled. Basic attack will no longer steal gold to fill Pocket's Wealth bar. Instead, Cut their Throats will apply and increase an enemy's Blood Bounty by 10/20/30 with every basic attack (3 second cooldown).

Cursed Q - Black Rat's Reach

  • Now casts, instead of channels. Resets on kill and assist.

Cursed W - Cruel Indifference

  • Shortens Sigil activation to .5 seconds. Cooldown reduced to 3 seconds (Not affected by CDR). Will always do 50% more damage. Will slow allies that walk over an activated trap Sigil.

Cursed E - Impoverish

  • Applies reduced stats according to rank. Can affect allies. Allies suffer half the effect. Pocket gains stats equal to half of the total stats reduced.

That's all I can do for now, I'm really tired it's super late here and my sleeping meds have been wearing me down for the last 3 hours or so. I guess I will leave this the way it is, and perhaps edit it later. Leave your thoughts in the comments, try to offer your own ideas or opinions. I understand the kit is probably really dumb, but I came up with have of it on the spot and really sleepy. Anyway, there's my very rough champion concept. Enjoy I guess lol. Hopefully there will be some discussion when I wake up.

G'nite everyone!

Utility assassins usually don't work well because they become mobile tanks with CC like Ekko was.

The passive is really interesting but over complicated.
