[Champ concept] Aggon, the Prismatic Sorcerer

GerAvos··3 votes·594 views

Aggon is a mage intended for the midlane. He wears a light blue robe and he has no staff or weapon, instead prismatic crystals circle around him like Syndra's balls.

Not providing any stats, but he's supposed to have pretty normal mage stats. Also take any numbers with a grain of salt, I'm not good at balancing xD

Lots of reading is required to understand this crappy concept. Q will be leveled up automatically at level 1!

Passive - Prismatic Crystals

Aggon gains 10% (+ 10% per 100 AP) attack speed if he has 1 or more prisms. His normal auto attack is a magical bolt, but if he has prisms, he fires his prisms instead. On towers, wards, etc he does not use the prisms. (Auto attack range is 550. Also, his auto attacks travel pretty fast, like an adc)

Q - Prism Enchantment

Cost: 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 Mana CD: 2 Seconds

Channels for 0.75 seconds to create 3 prisms. If interrupted, Aggon creates only 1 prism instead. He can have up to 6 prisms. If Aggon has at least 1 prism when using the ability, all his prisms are powered up by 1 stage, which changes their color. (3 is the highest possible stage, stage 1 is green, stage 2 is yellow, stage 3 is red). If Aggon has no prisms when using the ability, his prisms start out at stage 1. After 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10 seconds of not auto attacking, Aggon's prisms go down to stage 1.

Aggon's auto attacks deal 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 (+ 20% AP) extra magic damage at prism stage 1, 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 (+ 35% AP) extra magic damage at prism stage 2 and 50 / 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 (+ 50% AP) extra magic damage at prism stage 3.

W - Crystal shield

Cost: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 Mana and 1 prism CD: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 Seconds Shield: 50 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 (+ 30% AP) Duration: 2 seconds with a stage 1 prism, 4 seconds with a stage 2 prism and 6 seconds with a stage 3 prism.

Aggon uses a prism to create a crystal around himself that shields him. Higher prism stage means longer shield duration.

E - Magical blast

Cost: 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 Mana CD: 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 Range: 1000

Shoots a large sphere in a straight line that explodes on the first enemy champion hit, dealing 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 / 130 (+ 40% AP) magical damage and applies magical mark to the enemy for 6 seconds. Aggon's next auto attack on the marked target consumes the mark and stuns the enemy for 0.7 / 0.9 / 1.1 / 1.3 / 1.5 seconds.

R - Crystal explosion

Cost: 100 / 125 / 150 Mana CD: 160 / 145 / 130 Seconds Explosion radius: 600

Aggon explodes, dealing 250 / 300 / 350 (+ 75% AP) magical damage in an area around him. He then takes form of a magical cloud that nobody can interact with, for 10 seconds. In this form, Aggon can not take damage and he can not attack, cast spells or use items, but he can move around. After the effect is over, he transforms back to his normal body.

So yes, that's my champ concept. His gameplay should be like that of a battle mage and he uses auto attacks for his damage. Recommended items are RoA and Nashors Tooth. The mechanic of his Q should be really interesting, because he has to charge it up all the time. He has to time his casts well to get a good amount of prisms and then throw them on the enemy. An important strategy is to stop attacking if you have only 1 prism left so you don't reset the prism stage during a fight. His ult is a really powerful tool to deal damage and to escape.

All in all I'm pretty happy. Let me know what you think. :)

His AA is based entirely on one skill in his kit? Yeah you might be better off having his passive periodically spawn prisms like how Illoi spawns tentacles or Zyra spawns plants. And perhaps just still give him a weakened basic AA while his prisms let him use his full AP/AD/whichever for his attacks.

Hm, I think it's cool to have a mage that can't auto attack without his skill. The cooldown is also very low so thats not a problem.

As a midlane mage main, I tell you that there is absolutely nothing cool about being denied early farm when you're low on or out of mana, especially when it probably won't take your enemy very long at all to destroy your prisms moments after they pop up, ESPECIALLY early game or against midlaners with AOE powers as opposed to skillshots. Your AA is your lifeline, a fundamental aspect of gameplay, and under no circumstances is it considered cool or beneficial to be without that skill. The fact that there are champs like Jax, Teemo, and Quinn who have powers specifically designed to deny you AA's should tell you something about how important they are.

Yeah thats true. I changed it now so that he has a normal auto attack, like you said.

From what I gather you use the prism up when AA, but considering you gain AS with passive and getting all six prism to level 3 takes some time (where you can't farm well) I think this might need some tweaks as it feels kinda counterproductive. W is a pretty basic shield, but it has nice interaction with his prism mechanic (I feel like making the shield scale with prism level would be better than duration though) E, being a good poke skillshot seems more like a Q ability. The mark and stun duration are to long IMHO. R 10 seconds of stasis, while being able to move is just OP, as it provides too much safety.
