Song, the Twin Soul [Concept 2] -This is my second concept, certainly a lot more complex than the first. Roles it could fill will be listed at bottom, and if you read this, please drop a commend if you like it or have any ideas for improvements. :) [I know it's a bit of a weird kit]

Lore: [It's short. To sum: Bardlike character who wanders around in two parts, ends up in League]

Song, in both its forms, had wandered the dimensions surrounding Runeterra for eons. It went to sample life everywhere, though it never stayed long, for it seemed made to journey without stopping.

All changed, however, when Song heard the most glorious of songs drawing her to a new dimension. This song drew her to what the summoners know as Runeterra-and there she found the source, another traveler just like her.

Their first meeting was broken, however, when war erupted in X country, and they were forced to flee. Song’s anger arisen, she split into two forms simultaneously, and slew the champions whose battle had angered her.

When the fight was over and furious red had faded from her gaze, the other traveler was gone. The only trace remaining of his presence was a single trail of glowing lights… which she began to follow, travelling once again.

Bard is one of my favorite champs, so I thought a new champ with similar aesthetics would be a good addition to the roster, and it would give them opportunity for interaction. [Though neither would have talking lines, keeping with the theme.]

-Explanation of why I don’t use numbers: I don't have a good enough grasp on the exact number mechanics and ratios, but if someone wants to try their hand at filling them, by all means do so :)

Inspiration: Inspiration for the build comes twofold: firstly, the highly technical two-unit gameplay was greatly inspired by the Ice Climbers from SSBM, who reward insane micromanaging to pull of great combos, though they require a large amount of skill to pull off. This idea was brought to life in the form of a "permanent clone" concept that can be used to chain abilities together.

The artistic design ideas came from Journey, because I’m in a bit of a Journey mood right now lol. It's a great game.

Abilities:

Autoattack: Ranged, I think. It'll give Song a little bit of poke which she would otherwise be missing.

P: Song is composed of two parts, Red Soul and White Soul. Both share from the same HP pool, though they may be controlled separately and moved independently of one another.

To start, both Souls ‘run’ together, able to draw on 100% of their offensive power. (When separated, their offensive power is ~60-80% of norm) One soul runs in front of the other, and the frontrunner is the one whose abilities are used when the player casts a W, E, or R spell. This position can be toggled with an ability (Q).

If Song takes enough damage to fall under 50 HP, the Soul which took more damage vanishes, and reanimates after X (~30) seconds later, though the act will not restore health.

When separated, a Soul will stand still until it is given a command or “tagged” by the other soul. (Tagging = running through, causing the remote soul to follow the frontrunner)

Q: Soul Toggle [0 Cooldown] Passive: LCTRL key may be used to quick-move the non-front soul. [Ala Shaco/Leblanc] This does not switch the lead soul. Active: Control/Camera moved to the other Soul, allowing it to cast unique abilities. If the souls are running together when this ability is cast, they switch order.

W: Take Flight [White Soul]/ Piercing Cry* [Red Soul] White Soul creates an airway by jumping to a nearby location (can be the same location as casting point) which allies or enemies can ride. Friendly units within the airway are slightly healed for the duration they remain inside, and all are considered airborne while they travel. Alternatively, Red Soul releases a loud wail in a circle around it, inflicting nearby enemies who are of a lower level with Fear, and mildly slowing enemies who are of equal or greater level. [Alt idea was to have this be a piercing skillshot slow]

E: Hold/Hold PASSIVE: If the souls are separated from each other, they gain increased movement speed. ACTIVE: The lead soul snares an enemy champion, holding them in place for ~1.5 seconds. White Soul deals no damage but holds the enemy a short while longer, while Red Soul deals a slight amount of damage.

R**: Passive: When both souls travel together, they gain increased defenses.

Active: White Soul crates a large healing zone (Bard size) nearby, which heals allies and increases the movement speed of all friendly units who pass through the zone. Enemies who enter the zone are mildly slowed. Additionally, allies take 10% reduced damage as long as they remain inside the field. Alternatively, Red Soul creates a damaging zone at the target area. This field deals light damage on cast and continuous damage over time to all hostile units who remain inside, and reduces their defenses by X% while they remain within. Allies who run into the field gain ~+10% increased damage for a short amount of time.

*=Name Decisions ** = Ability still up for large amounts of revision

What does this champ fulfill for the current champ pool? -Like many of the modern champions, Song fulfills a very unique role. -Unlike many of the latest champions, Song isn't mechanically overpowering, confusing, or loaded with passives-her kit is meant to be straightforward, yet very hard to master to the fullest. -League needs another Bard-like champ!

So what roles can Song fulfill?

-Ideally, I believe that Song will be played in a support or perhaps niche mid laner. Being a fragile, ability-heavy champ without a lot of burst, I don't forsee Song being played in the jungle. [Although having two controllable units + the new Runeglaive could make this feasible]

-An example build path would focus on a little bit of health, maybe a sustain option, and certainly plenty of mana/AP.

How will Song benefit the team (which is very important in higher-level play)?

-Ideally, an experienced Song player would be able to remotely control both halves of the character, using the increased map presence to scout around, place extra wards, and perhaps even assist two allies at once. [Although that would be quite the feat of micromanagement] -When engaging or starting a teamfight, Song can send one half around each side of a large obstacle in the jungle to collapse in from both sides. This is but one example of how the duo-control mechanics would be used. -Song's E allows for great setups in pinning down valuable members of the enemy team, and if you switch souls in the middle of casting, you can extend the hold range for a greater duration. Alternatively, bringing a soul around the back of the enemy formation (perhaps using White Soul's W) would allow you to remotely snare the back line of the enemy team.

Just some ideas. Please comment with feedback if you've taken the time to read this!

Lovin this champion. I like the background and I love the theme. Great work.

Mind checking out my currently active concept? Just got done typing it up, it's in need of some feedback!

I like the concept but the mechanics are very confusing. I feel like there would be too much going on at once or he would be an incredibly high skill champion. One of the major issues I have with him is that his Q is basically a wasted spell and is only used to toggle. Perhaps adding a passive to this or some spell effect would make this more worthwhile (think of Jayce R or Chogath Vorpal spikes).

Otherwise I feel the idea is definitely a strong one. with some mechanical work, ratios and a little bit of word play he would be a really solid concept that would be hard to ignore.

If you would like to look at the champion i made i have the link here. I would appreciate any ideas you have to offer as well. And of course bumps and comments are always appreciated :)
