so the updated base skin is now a free skin and hes getting a new base skin??? WHY
and if i played him this his new skin do i get the free skin

Captain Gangplank is rewarded to players who played at least one matchmade game as Gangplank before Miss Fortune assassinated him. (and failed.) So, if you've played Gangplank at any time during Act I or Act II during the Burning Tides, you'll receive the Captain Gangplank skin for free. As for why they decided to give him a new new base skin, is because during Act III, Miss Fortune fires a barrage on the Dead Pool and Bilgewater in an attempt to assassinate Gangplank. For a short while, the Riot team needed to deliberate on what they wanted to do - this is technically the first time a character died in the lore. They decided to grizzle up his base skin, give him some new vengeance-related quotes and a lot of cruel things to say, and they're moving his Captain Skin to be pre-death GP.
