Design Help?

How should one go about creating a Support/Assassin champion?

Should they be heavily gated by mana or cooldowns? Should their ultimate be utility based? Any crowd control, or shields? Should they be allowed to jump someone, if only for the sake of their team?

Anyone want to help me come up with some ideas, I'd be more than happy to collaborate.

Shaco is THE champion for this role, Riot just doesn't see it.

You're trying to think up a kit when what you need is a thematic or archetype to work from. It will inform your kit, which will inform your narrative idea, which informs theme, which informs kit, etc. It's a feedback loop.

You've got the unique class combo (Support / Assassin), what you need is the flavor. Again, I think the idea of a Demon Jester is perfectly suited to this class combo, but maybe you can think of something else. Try to think of a weapon or power no one in League uses at the moment, or of a unique niche that has been left unfulfilled (such as that of a vision-centric support.)

I think the worst thing you can do is try to come up with a kit before you have a solid idea of WHO you're designing. Putting the cart before the horse, as they say. IIRC, the only champion who started out as a kit and became a legit champion was Orianna, and that was after sitting on Riot's shelf for two years before they realized that kit would go with the robot ballerina they were working on.

The only thematic that could really work with a support assassin probably wouldn't work in game, which would be some sort of debilitating poison dude.

How exactly is that supposed to mix? Assassin: Designed to eliminate high priority targets with high damage and mobility Support: Designed to help allies with buffs and CC at the expense of personal power Wouldn't a mix of that end up as either assassin/mage or mage/support ?

What's next Tank Assassin ?

The idea of a support assassin is an age-old question that even I myself have had my troubles attempting to design one in a well-enough manner. My closest attempt was Morris but even that was a bit of a fluke.

As an Assassin you want to kill priority targets. As a Support you want to make your allies awesome badasses.

Make a Support/Assassin that gives a teammate the ability to be an Assassin.

Something along the lines of:

P: anytime an enhanced ally kill an enemy champion, your E resets.

Q: Cast on Ally: Ally's next ability deals x extra damage Cast on Enemy: deals damage in an interesting way, be creative.

W: marks target enemy under x% health (scales with rank). It receives x% more damage from all sources.

E: Cast on Ally: the champion can press any ability to use a ground targeted dash. (Can cast on self) Cast on Enemy: move yourself towards an enemy unit, dealing damage to every enemy in your path. Increase damage and distance with rank, reduces cooldown.

R: AoE camouflage for yourself and allies. Your next auto attack deals bonus damage. Rank increases duration and reduces CD.

This one would probably be the case for the so asked for AD support
