I'm literally offended by these Skins. To literally take the Star Guardian skins and just make a new model based on cute onesies is the biggest copout of making skins I've ever seen. If these things aren't 750 or less, Riot should be ashamed of crafting these literal VGU'S for skins.

Even the color schemes are exactly the same, and it means each of the 5 champions will know share 2 skin lines together, which means you'll surely use this in the future. I've been so impressed with skins this year, up until this point that the skins team got THIS lazy.

honestly...these skins look really boring. i guess people who play the champs would find them cool but i don't like the idea and it just seems really lazy lol

That's still about 900 RP for the same exact skin but with pajamas on. It's pretty bad.

975 normally gets you the exact same skin in a different outfit, too, so it's not unprecedented. I can see why people are saying it should be 750, though; I'd prefer that, too.

The new Pajama Guardians which are nothing but a remodel to the old Star Guardian skins, no new animations, particles or anything, it's just the Star Guardian Skins put in Pajama's. Incredibly lazy in design and just a safe design to make a little more money on "new" skins by using a popular skinline.

I'm saying the effort could have been put into 5 new skins, for other champs, and for other thematics. It's a huge waste, and it's offensive to anyone other than those the skins cater to.

Oh, well then yes I agree completely. But you can't start arguing with Riot at this point. Them catering to the BS fanboi champs and giving out everything thats a cute meme on the internet started this...it should have stopped after the first batch.

A small amount of effort since they used alot of existing assets. So, it wasn't like it took time away from anything major. They still gave us major events like VS and Odyessy this year. We also have Snowdown coming that will most likely have another big event, as well as all of the other pre-season stuff. Plenty of skin themes, one-offs and so on have been seen throughout the year as a whole.

Actually the amount of work here is minimal compared to what it would take to make whole new concepts and skins for 5 champions. This skins as said before have the same color palette, particles, animation, rigs probably, and VO than star guardians. So it's not even close to the same amount of work as 5 completely new skins.

Am I still annoyed they chose to do this? Yes, it's lazy and a poor attempt to milk money out of players.

Not saying you have to like them at all of course or that the discount price is fair, but I think you're straight up wrong that these skins could have easily been swapped out for something entirely new. These obviously took way less effort than an entirely new skin would have; these being here is not in the reason we aren't getting a totally new SG skin.

As an artist, I also don't really agree that making something simple = laziness. The fact they were less time-consuming in concepting means they have more time to work on other projects. That's probably part of why you've been so impressed with skins this year, actually.

I just wanted to say that you aren't necessarily meant to buy both. With these out, players have the option to buy whichever Variant of the skin they prefer, and there's nothing wrong with just giving players more options for their purchases. If you don't like the base Star Guardian skins and prefer these ones (or vice versa), you don't have to pay for the version you don't like, like you do for base chromas.

They already mentioned they can't really do that since Chromas are just a color change, where stuff like these, prestige Kai'sa, the two Blitzcrank skins, ect are all their very own skin. They may have similarities to each other but they still have some differences and are loaded into games as individual skins, so they are completely separate of each other and won't function the same was as a Chroma.

I'd feel they were special if they were like, some 5 year old skin line that was nostalgic to the game and were made as a sort of thank you to the community. Like "Oh cool, remember those things they did 5 years ago? We're getting a throwback!"

But it's just another marketing scheme, as ridiculously priced as Emotes, and still so soon after the last Star Guardian batch.

It's an experiment with new content. They specifically chose Star Guardians because the originals are popular, to gauge public interest in this kind of thing. If you consider that Prestige Edition Kai'sa is the prototype Variant, - the Alpha stage - these Star Guardian ones are the Beta stage. I'm not opposed to them thinking of new things like this, and I quite think some of them are cute. It's just that I HEAVILY disagree with the pricing if you already own the parent skin. They need to be no more than 750 RP.

We generally get popular skins ONCE a year. SGs are a popular theme and the last sets were September 2017, they pretty much skipped out giving a brand new batch this year, but now it's now November 2018, and here is a small variant of some of the existing skins. So it's been well over a year.
