League of Legends Champion Concept - Rae

Rae - The Gravity Glider

Passive - Hextech Battery/Gravity Boots

(Passive)(Active) Hextech Battery - Rae's gravity boots gradually drain its battery when the active of the item is turned on and when she uses her abilities. The boots can be re-activated to turn the boots off. This puts Rae at a much slower movement speed/attack speed/and attack damage.

  • Base Battery Supply = 100 (150 since she starts with Supplementary Battery Upgrade)
  • Upon activating the boots, Rae generates an electric shield that damages whoever she attacks and shields her for 5 seconds.
  • Battery Supply is a recharging resource used for Rae's basic abilities and movement. _This supply is refilled If she stands still for 5 seconds she starts to regenerate the energy through a channeling process that takes 7 seconds. This will only fill 75% of the battery and will be on a cooldown for 100 seconds. She can also refill the battery by returning to base. _

(Passive) Gravity Boots - Rae starts each game with an exclusive item, her Gravity Boots, which permanently occupies one of her item slots. For 1000 Gold, Rae can upgrade them to increase their bonuses.

The battery will be a upgradeable item like ‘Viktor's’ HexCore. It can be upgraded 3 times. This item replaces normal boots upgrades (This champion is restricted from buying regular boots). After final form upgrades like (Homeguard) can be bought. Each upgrade is cumulative to the final upgrade.

item 3200 Supplementary Battery Upgrade (Starting Item) +5% Movement Speed +10 AD +100 Battery Supply

item 3196 Improved Battery Upgrade ( + 1000g) +7% Movement Speed +20 AD +100 Battery Supply

item 3197 Enhanced Batter Upgrade( + 1000g) +10% movement speed +30 AD +100 Battery Supply

item 3198 Perfect Grade Battery Upgrade ( + 1000g) +13% Movement Speed +40 AD +100 Battery Supply Unique Passive: Charges 4% of her maximum Battery Supply after every 3rd auto attack.

Final Item Stats: (Cumulative) 35% Movement Speed 100 Attack Damage 500 battery power Unique Passive: Charges 4% of her maximum Battery Supply after every 3rd auto attack.

Q - Double Kick Combo (Active) – Rae charges forth into a one-two combo of gravity-induced kicks. Her first kick knocks the enemy back slightly and after re-positioning herself closer to her target she delivers a second one that pushes them further. If the target is painted then the second kick knocks them in the air. If the charge strikes a target to start the combo, then the cooldown is reduced to 8 seconds. If you feel that Rae is in danger you can cancel the second Kick by re-casting the ability. She will leap away from the target pushing her away from her target and throwing a small grenade that blows up instantly blinding all enemies around the original target.

Damage (First Kick): 35/60/85/110/135 Physical Damage Damage (Second Kick): 70/95/110/135/160 Physical Damage Total Damage: 105/155/205/255/305 Physical Damage Cooldown: 14 seconds Battery Cost: 8

W - Paint Bomb (Active) - Tosses a bomb at a target area that explodes once it reaches its destination, dealing physical damage over 2 seconds and painting targets hit for 7 seconds, amplifying damage dealt to them by her basic attacks and Double Kick Combo. The paint changes the effect of both Double kick combo and The second cast of Wall vault. Double kick combo will knock-up the target on the second kick instead of backwards. While painted targets will get knocked-up on the second cast instead of just knocking them to the side.

Damage from Bomb : 20/50/80/110/140 + (30% AD) Physical Damage Bonus Damage to Painted Targets with Basic Attacks: 4%/6%/8%/10%/12% AD Bonus Damage to Painted Targets with Double Kick Combo: +8% of the skill's damage Cooldown: 10 seconds

E - Wall Vault (Active) (First Cast) - Launches herself forward. If she comes in contact with a wall, she will launch herself off of it in the opposite direction, repeating this effect every time she launches herself into another wall. Drains more energy every time she dashes consecutively. If she avoids the wall and runs into a champion, she will perform a tripping attack, leaving the target stunned for 1 second. Painted targets are stunned for 2 seconds. (Re-cast) - Ends her dash with a short slide, knocking enemies in her path to the side and dealing damage based on vaults performed. If the target is painted then they are knocked up in the air.

Damage on Kick: 40/60/80/100/120 Physical Damage Damage of slide Amplification per Vault: 4% Battery Cost: 1(2%)/2(4%)/3(8%)/4(16%) Cooldown: 18 seconds (a little side note: How would everyone feel if this champion stole a certain amount of gold from a enemy champion just by going through a champion after vaulting off a wall? You will still need the second cast to stop the skill. Only applies once per champion for a 20 second period.)

R 1- Heel Hammer Kick (Active) - Rae must position herself against a wall to build up enough force (enemies can hear the sonic boom of her leaving the ground) to leap into the air and smashing the ground with her heel, creating a outward traveling shock-wave that knocks up all enemy champions struck by it, dealing less damage with each subsequent wave. Rae can position where she wants to land within a diameter around her that is 1400 range. The shockwave is 750 diameter around her and the damage falls off the further away you are from the epicenter.

Damage: 130/260/390 Physical Damage Damage Fall-off per Wave: 14%/10%/6%/2%/0% (amplified dmg on top of base dmg) Cooldown: 160 seconds

R 2 - Electro Smokescreen (Active) - Rae Throws smoke grenades out in front of her blanketing the area in electrified smoke that blinds enemies and damages them if they go in the smoke. If you are on the opposite side of the smoke then the other side is obscured in fog of war, even if your team has a ward or a friendly player on the other side. Allies also see fog of war on the other side but don't take damage when going through the smoke.

Initial Blast Damage: 140/280/420 Physical Damage (+ 25% of AD) Damage over time within the smoke: 10p/s / 20p/s / 30p/s / 40p/s / 50p/s (+40% AP) Cooldown: 220 seconds

** R 3 - Charged Overdrive (Active)** - Rae boots burst with power doubling the batteries power and giving Rae a buff to MS, AS and AD. At the same time a bolt of lightning jolts out of the boots every 2 seconds hitting champions around Rae. The effect lasts 12 seconds.

Lightning dmg: 100/200/300 Physical Damage Cooldown: 180 seconds Below rates depend on upgrade: Movement Speed: 10%/20%/30% Attack speed: 10% / 15% / 20% Attack Damage: 40/60/80 Battery Power: 300/500/800

R 4 - Gravity Rush (Active) - Rae props herself against a wall charging up the rest of her energy into one long range dash. The long Rae holds the channel the further she can go. On the second cast everyone on the Rift can hear the sonic boom as Rae bolts across the Rift in a blaze of Electricity. Enemies that Rae hits take damage, get knocked aside and stunned for 2 seconds. The shattered surface of the rift is also electrified, damaging and slowing enemies that walk through it. Rae's battery is drained by 50% of the maximum battery. This skill also goes through all terrain, so make sure you know you want to go into the enemy base.

Ult Range: 3340 Cooldown: 200 seconds Damage on Hit: 160/320/480 AD (+30% AD) Battery Drain: 50% of maximum battery

Aftermath: Electrified Damage from the ground: 60 damage (+80% AP) at all ranks. Slow: 20%

Statistics:

  • Health: 493.5 (+85 per level)
  • HPS: 6.725 (+0.08 per level)
  • (Unique Resource/Passive) Hextech Battery : The Battery loses power from using abilities as well as activating the item to increase movement speed and attack speed. When using to move faster the battery will drain continuously. The item in inventory called Hextech battery can be upgraded for added stats and a unique passive. Starting battery power(100), max 400 power.
  • Attack Dmg: 59.01 (+3.1 per Level)
  • Armor: 30.3 (+3.6 per level)
  • Attack Speed: 0.755 (+ 2.25% per level) and 0.815 when active item used.
  • Magic Resist: 33.6 (+1.25 per level)
  • Movement Speed: 345 and 370 when active item used.

Ability activation quotes: Q - Dash forward -> “Watch this foot work!", "One step, two step"

W - Throwing Paint Bomb -> “Think Fast!,” “Wanna play catch?”

E - After Each wall vault -> “Boing! Boing! Boing!,” “Welcome to the Fast Lane,” “Closing the Gap”

R - 'Depends on Poll'

Voice theme - 1. Comedic - 2. Serious - 3. Sly/Sinister

Taunt:

  • “Can’t Catch me ‘C’” (Throws Card at the Ground) -> Only against Caitlyn
  • “Now you see me? now all you see is red” (Flashy dash in a direction)
  • "Everyday is leg day" -> does squats in front of the enemy. Suggestions?

Joke:

  • “sometimes these boots have minds of their own.” (Boots deactivate and put rae in a split)
  • “When i zone out, all sorts of things happen”
  • “What is with this league and malfunctions” Suggestions?

Laugh: Not sure yet

Dance: Smooth Criminal - Thank you to **MisterLayzee ** I feel like this dance is perfect for both her character and the design. The animators could have fun with the Hood and the mask to go with the dance.

As she walk's:

  • "I think i would rather wear heels, then these boots"
  • "These boots aren't made for walking"
  • "Sometimes you have to steal in plain sight"
  • "I'll electrify your life, One step at a time"

**On killing Vi **- "Shouldn't have skipped leg day Vi" On killing Caitlyn - "You call yourself a sheriff?"

Alright! So this is a Re-tweak post of Rae, i tried to make it as clear as possible so if you have any questions just ask. I will probably add to the post as well so please stay posted. The art will take longer to tweak, so please be patient for that. That update will include new color pallets, and a resize on the boot with added features most likely. I may even add or change some of the original outfit as well, mostly above the waist.

As for the role of the champion i think i made it a little clear that i wanted her to be strictly utility tank, however, the changes that i have made to the kit give her a little bit versatility so you can go Damage or tank depending on your own play style. Please keep the feedback coming! i love answering everyones comments and of course, be patient with me. If you are having trouble understanding feel free to ask :D

I love this Champ, the detail and research put into it is obvious. On regard to the ultimate, I like the idea of the 1st one it being planned and having to be near a wall is more unique than the other ablities which i can attribute to other champs, r4 (v's) r3(voli) r2 is different tho. So i think maybe two ultimates. R1 when she is near a wall and maybe r2 when she is not. I think R2 suits her style a lot. A paint bomb that makes a small area of the map like nocs ult. She'd be a jungler who can be useful IN a teamfight not only being all in. I think this 2 ultimate style would be really unique and a fun idea

I really do think r4 fits her personality, backstory, and playstyle the best of being a risky but fun loving gameplay aspect honestly it's nice to see you putting so much effort into this champion tell me is this your first time making a champion? Cause if so bravo you would be great at making champions not that the champions we've been getting are bad I'm just saying you would make a really good champion designer, keep up the good work man

R4 would just be super fun to use, along with the rest of her kit, Love em all but R4 just feels like it would be so entertaining to use.

I really like the concept you have here for a champion, I would definitely play her. But what I really liked was the small note you made on the E, with the gold stealing. I think it would be great! I was just putting together a concept for a champion that steals gold and got bored so I looked on the board and saw yours. Must be divine providence :D

Smokescreen could replace you "paint bomb" i suppose, that way she has an option to delay the enemies, while she sets up a wall charge or another ability.

the E is now Talons Parkour essentially, I like the wall bounce better.

AS for her ult options, still nothing significant for me, maybe her overdrive?

alot of people voted on Gravity rush, and it is interesting, but i feel at this point, after the Sion rework its too similar, same with Arelion Sol's thingy

maybe like a bicycle kick or a flying kick? you know how vi runs to a raget and knock them up? you do the same but you push them, AND (for a little flavor) it would tie to you wall bounce, so if they are in the jungle, beware, you can bounce them off the wall for like 300-400 units(watver that means XD like lux ult distance)

its a strong concept, to the point where if you do finalize it, i suggest you post it FINAL, with the links to your other posts for history/change logs etc

I personally don't like the idea of having to be near a wall for an ult. It makes it so every time you ult it is kinda super planed also the overdrive shouldn't be double it should last longer but not be so powerful I don like the smoke idea but that would be hell to code for riot i mean it blocks out wards on the other side of it the spaghetti code would be real, i think a simple large blind that does damage would work.

This champion would have been a better addition than the new blade leg chick. sigh

Solidsnipe9/10/2015, 8:15:57 PM1 votes

For those that don't know, Gravity Rush has the same Range as Lux ult. Just note that its a channel ability so you have to charge the dash to get the full range.

I'm still loving Rae here, but I don't know if I like R1 or R4 better. Therefore, I cannot vote at the moment. Both just seem like pretty good ideas, and both seem like they can be pretty fun if used properly. I just can't decide right now!!!
