Galio and his Gatekeeper skin are getting a VFX Update, currently on the PBE. The new particles are great, however I have one complaint about the Ultimate VFX on Gatekeeper Galio.

While this is certainly a work in progress, and the new spell effects work great for base skin Galio... I really like the "soul green" color that Gatekeeper currently has. I'm kinda conflicted on the green color vs. the new orange-red. But I certainly agree with you on his ult. It looks like he still does the same movements, so maybe turning to stone is a placeholder that hasn't been adjusted from the base yet.
They should keep the new particles- They're very clear, and give a pretty clear indication of what's going on. I personally though would like the old colors to remain: Currently the particles just seem to be a red/orange version of the base Galio SFX update, which isn't what I really paid for when I bought the skin :\
Bring back the green/blue and have him still do the awesome ult roar animation, basically.
I don't get why such a drastic change was called upon. His spells went from ghastly green that just screams 'lost souls' to a more classic 'fire and brimstone' devil approach. Big change. Of course, there will be people who like it - and there will be people who bought it for cold hard cash, don't like it at all and can't refund it due to Riot's policy.
I don't even play gal or own this skin, but empathy.
You are right but hopefully its WIP so that they will improve it.
I think I peed a little
I really hope they keep the green color for the abilities of Gatekeeper Galio. The orange-red just isn't good looking. It feels more like a placeholder. I spent a good deal of money on that skin and will be very upset since the primary reason I purchased the skin was for the eerie green spell colors and particle effects.

The spooky green was a much cooler effect for the skin, and it better matches the splash art. If they go through with the new Gatekeeper VFX, they should really reduce the price of Gatekeeper Galio. As it stands, it isn't worth it's Legendary price tag. It's not on par with, say, Infernal Nasus or Eternum Nocturne. If they reduced to price to 1350, then I could live with these VFX changes, as much as I dislike them. But Gatekeeper is very, very outdated, and these new VFX, rather than feeling like an update, just makes it feel even more outdated, if that's possible.
I mean, let's be real, GK Galio's ult is currently amazing. While the new one isn't terrible, the original looks badass, and really should be kept as is, rather than changing to nearly exactly match the OG skin

They reverted the colors to green and the ult to the spooky green eyes :)
I don't like the new Ulti visual. It used to be more in line with the taunt rather then: "LOOK I'M GONNA BOOOOOOOOM!"
Hopefully it's just a placeholder for now, because I agree that the stone transformation is underwhelming for this skin.
I feel like I'm alone in preferring the firey effects to the green tints though.
