Suggestion to make ARAM More Random

I love playing ARAM games, I get to try out new champions, it's less time consuming and fast-paced. However, one annoying thing about ARAM is getting the same champion over and over. There has been times that I have gotten the same champion two or even three times in a row.

I'm proposing that the last-played champion be taken out of the pool of champions that are randomly selected. For example, if I get Alistar (who I happen to have gotten a lot recently), the next ARAM game will not give me Alistar again. This will increase the randomness of the champions and reduce the consistency of ARAM accounts in a way.

Technically, but it would make it feel more random than playing the same champion multiple times in a row

I say, they make it not as random but random enough to get the job done.

I propose that we act as if the champion roster were a game board (but not a game board) where you roll a dice and move you're round icon across the board to a select champion.

New players, who are first time, start on their first champion. And roll the dice to get either a 1,2,3,5, or 6; 4s will cause you to go backwards 4 champions.

Like, lets say you have all the champions, and it is you're first time in Aram. You start on Aatrox and roll the dice; and if you get a 1 then you move to Ahri , you get a 2 and you move to Akali , if you get a 6 then you move to Annie , but if you get a four you go in reverse and get Zed . The reroll system then can roll the dice again to get another number to move you up a few spaces again, but if another player on your team has a character you have, then it does not count as a space and it will be skipped. So, if you got a 6 and land on Annie and got another 6, then you will go all the way to Caitlyn unless someone has it, then you will go to Cassiopeia .

This way, you still have no say in who you get, but it does make it so more champions will be used.

Also, champions on the enemy side are over looked as you and they can have the same champion unless you want it to not be that way.

This could also just be another game mode idea.

Just make it so that everyone has access to all champions in ARAM. The chances of getting the same champ twice gets reduced by a lot and it prevents people from gaming the system to only get champs like nid and lux.

Yeah that's one way to fix it and I've seen this proposed before, but I doubt Riot would do this. Maybe the pool of champions that can be selected could be a combination of every champion owned by everyone on your respective team?

So instead of one guy being screwed because he owns all the champs, his entire team can be screwed? That won't make games more lopsided or anything.

It's not really a bad idea but it would need to combine the champion pools of both teams.

I own 40+ champions, and it seems like the champions given to me in ARAM games are the same 10 or less

Nunu, Ryze, and Alistar. I don't like any of them and they keep showing up. I never get any of the champions I own that I actually like on ARAM.

Alistar and Karthus seem to be my most common champions. I always get a few triple or quadra kills with Karthus but Alistar is just annoying to play on ARAM, especially with the nerf to teammate healings

I posted a few suggestions, awhile ago, that would eliminate the perceived problems listed in this thread: ie; Getting the same undesireable champ over and over and over again.

Natually, my suggestions were met with the usual resident repsonses: "Oh, that'll never work! Let's just keep the system we have!"

While the OP's suggestion (Remove the Last played champ from the random selection pool) is a good one. I believe that RIOT has said that its impossible to re-roll the same champ, which means that even if we actually see it happen, that RIOT must have implemented some system (which is not foolproof) to eliminate immediate re-roll. Thus, It is Player discontent with the ARAM system that needs to be addressed.

My ideas were:

Eliminate the Time Penalty for Dodging
Implement an IP fine for Dodging 2a) Implement purchasing Re-Rolls for IP
Make ARAM an Unlockable mode: You must own at least 10 champs to unlock ARAM.
Implement a Personal Champ Ban List. For every 10 champs you own you gain 1 Ban.

I keep a Database of my ARAM games. Currently Evelynn Evelynn has a 10% chance of being rolled. She appears once every 10 rolls. Which translates to: I abandon 1 out of every 10 ARAM games. Not a happy situation. My ideas would eliminate this problem.

While I've never gotten the same champion with a reroll, I have gotten the same champion in multiple ARAM games. Maybe simply adding one reroll per game, or at least increase the rerolls you get over time. Making ARAM an unlock able mode would be nice too

Yeah, the Back-To-Back thing just happened to me today! Rolled NAMI Nami twice in a row! The First time I rolled her, I told my teammates that I was going to DODGE, they got all bent out of shape and traded me Zilean for her. we lost. I queue for another game, and VIOLA! BOOM!! WHAM!!! NAMI!!! WTF???

Apparently, the back to back rolls of the same Champ happens quite alot. this makes the fourth time its happened to me.

Also, in one champ select, I rolled EVELYNN, and traded her to another player. That player then Re-Rolled, but rolled a champ that he didn't want, so he Re-rolled again, and guess who he rolled??? Evelynn Like a bad penny ...
