Darius Ultimate Skin Concept (Symbiote Liquid Metal)

Hi, I've recently come up with an idea for a Darius Ultimate Skin. Not only do I play a lot of this champ, but I've been inspired by his recent jungle-enabling and simply surprised that he doesn't have an ultimate skin yet given how dominant he's been and a favorite among players for so long.

The theme is very Symbiote/Venom/Carnage-esque. I think either a viscous or metallic, or both, quality would feel very cool and aesthetically pleasing. I'd tentatively call this the "Living Weapon Darius" skin.

Passive - Bleed stacks would have a black or chrome hue. Upon hitting 5 stacks, Darius’ body would become engulfed by either black liquid or liquid metal, with spikes and other metallic weapon/blade items morphing around his model.

**Q - ** A black liquid or metallic axe similar to his normal skin in form would form on his main hand’s arm and swipe to complete the animation.

**W - ** Darius’ off-hand would form into a blade, very much like in Terminator 2 or the Venom movie, and quickly jab the target. This would visibly and audibly break off and remain attached to the target until the slow effect wears out.

**E - ** Either black liquid bubbling or liquid metal shifting all around Darius’ model would occur, and then send out spikes/appendages to attach to the target and pull them in. There are similar animations like this in multiple games/movies/comics involving Spider-man/Venom and it’s very cool.

**R - ** Darius’ entire model would transform into either a massive liquid, spiked stalactite that would drop down from the air and impale the target. OR, his body could transform into a Symbiote-like head that would open its maw and chomp the target, whereupon he would reform immediately.

**Attacks - ** I think it’s much more exciting and satisfying if, instead of having an axe drawn constantly as per usual, he walks around without any weapon protruding, and during each auto-attack animation a bladed/spiked weapon forms on his model and does a hack/swipe motion. This could rotate between 2 or 3 different shapes/motions, or have another for a critical hit.

TLDR: Venom/Carnage-inspired Skin that I would buy and LOVE to play all the time.

Nice! Two small things, I suspect you'd want to keep one arm "transformed" into a somewhat axe-like shape when moving around and in combat to preserve his character silhouette (though all manner of idle/emote states can be clean/weaponless since the concern would be identifying Darius at a glace during teamfights, etc.)

The other thing is that after the Gun Goddess Miss Fortune price reduction and reactions it sounds like the expectation for Ultimate tier skins is that they have some truly revolutionary new skin tech built into them... I suppose in this case that might be a really advanced organic shape tweening animation system that puts Zac to shame, but I've been thinking about this some too and suspect that the next Ultimate skin concept they pursue is gonna have some sort of deeper player customization angle, like letting you set up your own chromas and make more granular choices about what the skin looks like than ever before.

Not sure how best to incorporate that here, but maybe it would be possible to configure some of the weapon/attack shapes outside the game and have those choices reflected in-game? It sounds like a lotta tricky UI given they're struggling with the frontend client these days, but think about how the OG Ultimate Pulsefire Ezreal "evolution" angle could be pushed to a new limit, like maybe the type/quality of your kills should change the way the symbiote appears, or the whole shebang should "evolve" over the course of each match!

(maybe I'm just coming up with OTHER ideas for a Kha'zix ultimate skin by accident, heh)
