Lore

Amidst the noble tribe of Ophelis, there once lived a young Vastayan at odds with the rest of Ionia. As a child, Ornitha was content to sit and read, while her fellow children played in the dirt and learnt to hunt. It didn't matter what she read; fiction, fact, even the occasional spellbook. She devoured the pages, memorising every word, astounded by the mystery that stories held. But due to her compassion for reading, she was treated as an outsider, for in the Ophelis tribe there was no room for "unconventional" magic. Anything deemed too unnatural was destroyed, and the user was banished. One day, as Ornitha was sitting under her favourite tree, a young man walked into the clearing where she always read. He caught sight of the young vastayan, and froze. The man's eyesockets were covered in copper, and wires led from his ear to the back of his neck. the light of his eyes shone with brilliant cobalt crystals. They stared at each other, each unsure of the other's presence. Then Ornitha smiled, and patted the ground next to her. After a moment of consideration, the man sat down beside her. thanks to her proximity, she could hear the clicking and humming of his contraption. They talked. The man explained he was part of an exploration party, an exciting new endeavour that promised fame and fortune. He taught Ornitha the wonders of HexTech technology, and through her new friend, Ornitha learnt about the gleaming city of Piltover, a place where a thirst for knowledge was not only allowed, but encouraged. He showed her books he had brought from the great city, and in return, she taught him the magic of the Vastayan. They talked until the sun went down, and when they finally parted, they promised to meet again. The next day, Ornitha woke to the Summoning Cry. She dashed to the tribe centre, where a large crowd had gathered. She pushed her way to the front, and felt time stop. The man from yesterday was tied to a pole, being ruthlessly beaten by the tribespeople. The wires by his head were cut, the metal had been scraped away in cruel, jagged, lines.

And his crystalline eyes lay in shards upon the floor.

The Tribe Leader demanded the one who had given the outsider the secrets of the Vastayan. In hope that they might spare him, Ornitha confessed, but they made her watch as they ran him through with a spear. Ornitha was exiled, thrown out of her home. Now she makes her way towards Piltover, collecting her precious books along the way, hoping to find a place where she belongs.

Appearance

I would draw something but I have no talent so... yeah.

The design is basically an owl woman, as all people from the Ophelis tribe are based from owls, what with them being Vastayan and all.

Abilities

Abilities

Passive- Vastayan Texts Instead of using mana, basic abilities recharge stacks up to a maximum of three stacks. The recharge time resets each time the ability is used, with the time reducing at levels 6,11, and 16 (6, seconds, 4 seconds, 2 seconds respectively.) Using an ability costs one stack, with a 0.1 cooldown between each cast. For 0.5 seconds after using an ability, Ornitha has reduced damage. Additionally, if all three stacks are used up at once, the ability cannot be used until all three stacks have recharged. When an ability reaches 0 stacks, Ornitha’s next basic attack has additional effects depending on the ability.

Q- Detonation Tome After a brief delay, the area directly in front of Ornitha detonates, dealing (60/85/110/135/160) (+30% Ability Power). There is no cast animation. At 0 stacks, Ornitha’s next basic attack applies a slow for 0.5 seconds.

W- Quilldance Ornitha dashes a short distance in the direction of the cursor. The dash goes over terrain. At 0 stacks, Ornitha’s next basic attack reduces the cooldown of all stacks by 2 seconds.

E- Ancient Rites Ornitha shields an ally for (50/80/110/140/170) (+40% Ability Power). If the shield lasts 2 seconds then it heals (50/75/100/125/150) (+20% Ability Power) + 10% of missing Health. At 0 stacks, Ornitha’s next basic attack applies a 0.5 second stun.

**Ultimate- Return to Sender ** Ornitha charges up, gaining (15/25/35) damage reduction. While charging, 50% of damage taken by nearby allies is redirected to Ornitha. After two seconds, Ornitha discharges, releasing a beam of energy in front of her, dealing damage equal to 200% (+40% Ability Power) of the damage she took while charging. The beam pierces all units. If Ornitha takes no damage while charging, the ability fails, going on a 25% cooldown and slowing her for 1 second. This ability does not use stacks.

q skillshot damage, w dash, e shield. I like the kit a lot but you could've done a bit more to differentiate her from rakan. also slow on one auto and a stun on the other. it might be more fitting to give her q auto more range and damage to fit better into that part of her kit. thirdly there's no real reason with the charge system to even use the empowered autos when you can just cast every single one of your skills every 2 seconds so long as you don't run out. something would need to change drastically like buffing the auto effects or nerfing the charge times or making that charge time out of combat and a slower one in combat so she's forced to use them up in order to have relevant use.

that is one fucking huge shield but I do like the concept of healing if the shield survives
