I have posted this work of mine before. But unfortunately it was deleted by a moderator because it was in the wrong category. This was my FIRST attempt at making a splash art - like picture. So I am aware of this is not compareable to the official riot splash arts. It took me one whole month to finish this picture. I was really happy when it was finally done because I was working on this one even in my dreams... I hope at least some of you will like it. [sg-zephyr]

This is a 1920 x 1080 px version, but the original size is 3120 x 1755 px and 300 DPI. The original resolution is available only on my gumroad along with the original PSD file.

I like the quality of the lighting in the chest, arms and blade, and the way you build volume. The level of detail is also pretty good, no wonder it took you a whole month. XD There are some posing and composition problems, something that is usually solved pretty early in the process (the sketch). He should have a more dynamic pose and a slightly thinner torso. (imo) The perspective on the face could be slightly better and if the left hand was bigger it would be more proportionate to the rest of the body. But the overall quality is still above average imo. Good job. (Sorry if my english is kinda off somewhere, still learning)

Thank You for your critique. I composed the picture when I was sketching it, but I used the rule of thirds. Maybe a triangle composition would have been better for this drawing. Now that you mention it... his left hand is really small. I tend to notice my mistakes only after a long time on my finished pieces. It's really hard to spot the errors during the process. Maybe I exaggerated his body a little bit. But I often recieved comments that my Talon drawings look femine. So this influenced me a little bit. I'm trying my best to represent him in a more masculine way. But at the same time I'm trying to keep the "bishounen" look. ^^

Yeah, that's very common. Even more so if one is still learning or not reached a professional level yet. I became very aware of this issue some time ago and I do a lot of "testing", such as flipping the image horizontally (a lot of issues will pop out if you do that, lol), or start seeking the most outstanding mistakes every time you get back to work after a long break. It works for me unless I'm too tired to think properly. Also regarding Talon's looks, well... He's mostly like a really fit bishounen anyway, just with broader shoulders and a more adult face. He's supposed to be flexible and swift, not muscled and heavy. Kind of like a cat. And male cats are not any less manly for being good at parkour and bad at heavy lifting.
