HEADS UP: This is a WIP entry for the June MCCC.

Lore “Happiness? He he he, not for long.” Mors muttered to himself at the edge of Piltover. He then proceeded to sneak in without anyone noticing. It had just become night so it was dark, but not dark enough. Mors waited about an hour and the it became prime time for criminals. His target was a building which used to be an orphanage but then became a

“Very impressive, my master could use you.” Said a voice from nowhere. “Who’s there?!?” Mors demanded. “That is not important, what is important is that you like causing misery. If you join my master then he will give you plenty of chances to cause destruction.” “I can not accept to a being I can not see. I bet you are just too cowardly to show yourself” Mors said in a taunting tone. “I will show myself if I must.” He came out of the shadows to reveal his red cape and armor. His eyes glowed blue but it seemed that he had no body, only darkness. Mors knew instantly what he was and smiled maliciously. “Hello shade, I believe I know who your master is. I will join him on one condition, what am I?” This was a question he had been asking all his life, never finding an answer.

Mors was raised in an orphanage in Piltover, but it being Piltover it was more like prison to him. The robots of the orphanage named him Axel, which means “father of peace”. However, Mors early life turned out to be anything but peaceful. Over the first year of his life, Mors’ skin began to turn purple. As he grew older, he became an outcast in the orphanage, shunned and bullied by the other kids. He never knew about his powers until he was around 8 years old and even then they were very weak. He discovered them by playing alone in his room. He had a pair of marbles that he was playing with. When Mors’ mind started to wander, the marbles began to float in his hand. Mors jumped in fright when he saw this, and was also a bit interested. He tried again, but it didn’t work. For the next few days he tried for a while until he got it.

The next two years of his life were spent in agony for Mors. He kept his gift secret as he practiced and eventually learned how he could take revenge on those who tormented him his whole life. One day after school, Mors saw some kids coming towards him. What seemed to be the leader started to talk, “Hey purple boy, what are you doing in a civilized place such as this. You clearly belong in the sewers.” They all started laughing. It went on like this for a while, the boys calling Mors names like “poison skin” and “flower face”. “Ha ha ha! That’s funny, flower face. Ahh… well at least I’m not shit head like you.” This triggered Mors’ first actual fight. The ring leader swung at his head with a fist. It hit Mors in the jaw, knocking him to the ground. “Good punch,” he said, “My turn.” Mors sung his foot at the bully’s side and knocked him on the ground. This made the bully nauseous and he kneeled and peuked. Mors picked up a large rock with his powers. “It’s a demon!” one boy shouted as he ran away. Mors’ eyes started to glow red and his skin began to turn a dark purple. He made the rock float over the bully’s head and dropped it, crushing his skull. The other boys tried to run away, but Mors sent a pebble flying through each of their heads. Mors smiled, it felt good to take revenge.

The next day the police showed up at the orphanage. It turns out that the boy claiming that Mors was a demon had gone to the police and told them of what happened. The robots let the police into the building. Mors knew what had to be done. He packed a bag of stuff he would need for about a week. He then climbed out his window and jumped off. As he landed, he tampered with gravity to make him land softly and silently. From there he headed to a town he heard about called Zaun where he adopted the name “Mors” instead of Axel.

There, Mors found that he fit in there. He could protect himself in the streets and could steal the supplies he needed. He met three other people who became champions in the League; Ekko, Vi, and Jinx. There he learned his destructive attitude from Vi and his strategic instinct from Ekko. Jinx he never understood. She was kind of well, crazy. But, when she left to wreak havoc in Piltover, Mors began to admire her. She had turned the city of “progress” to crime. Mors developed a view on the world that combined with his skill was terrible for all of Runeterra. He believed that everyone was out to get him, so he had to get them first. He decided to join Jinx in destroying his home. However, Mors liked to stay in the shadows, causing everyone to believe that he was a spirit that helped Jinx. He earned the title “gravitational tormentor” through his actions.

A few weeks later, Mors asked the shade the question of what he is, he did not expect an answer. But that is what he got. “You are the offspring of an ancient being of power. You mother was a simple human, but your father, he was a celestial being.” “... How am I supposed to trust you?” Mors said accusatorially. “Born and raised in piltover, given the name Axel by an orphanage. At the age of 10 you killed 5 boys with the powers you discovered at the age of 8. The police came and you fled to Zuan. There you picked the name Mors for yourself. You joined a gang wi…” “Okay, okay, I get it.” Mors said, cutting the shade off. “I will join Ahimoth if you so desire. Just tell me what to do.”

To be continued... “Fly away little birdy, fly away.” -Mors
