Sound is one of nature’s most constantly present and powerful forces. The being known as Bass knows this power like no one else in Runeterra. While some merely use or harness sound as a weapon, Bass holds dominion of the entirety of sound itself. By his will, a thunderclap can be reduced to a whisper, and the blink of an eye can be deafening. How he came to possess this power is unknown, even to Bass himself.
Bass seemingly did not exist until a few years ago, when he woke alone in the Tempest Flats. No one knows where he came from, who is really is, or if he is even human, When Bass first woke up, he had no memories of who or what he was, only his name and how to use his power. He set out to wander Valoran in search of any information on himself or if there are any others like him.His travels took him all across Valoran, visiting every major city and scouring every library for any shred of information on others like him. He found nothing, but had accumulated a fearsome reputation along the way.
His most impressive feat occurred in Ionia immediately after landing on the island. As he was walking off of the ship that brought him to the island, a massive sea monster rose from the bay. The beast was famous for ripping ships in half with a single strike, and terrified all in attendance, save for Bass himself. Bass fired towards the monster with reckless abandon, and within seconds was back on the docks, with the corpse of the monster sinking into the bay. In mere moments Bass had made the monster’s head explode due to the sheer volume of his attack.
After this feat Bass became akin to myth, with some even denying his existence, dismissing him as a tall tale. Bass himself however, is very real and is a force to be reckoned with.

Good Vibrations The sun rose in the morning sky, with the light peeking through the forests around the Ironspike Mountains. The dim rays of dawn lit the treeline, revealing various animals that lived in them. As the sun shone on my eyes I awoke, with the rays going through my dark glasses. “Morning already? Alright then.” I say as I hop down from the branch which I slept in for the night, and brushed off my trenchcoat after landing. Lighting a fire in a region between Noxus and Zaun was about as safe as cleaning a Voidling’s teeth….if that Voidling even had teeth. Out of the ones I fought, a bunch didn’t have any teeth. I looked over to the road and then surveyed my surroundings. I listened to the world around me, becoming enveloped in auditory stimulation. Some birds. Squirrels. No people within about a half a kilometer in any direction. There was a stream up ahead, he could refill his canteen from there. I went to the road and started north. After my visit to Noxus, I think I will try the more friendly Ionia than Zaun next. Noxus was everything that people said it was, and then some. A little display of my power got the attention of Jericho Swain himself. Tactful man, extremely intelligent, and even more cunning. After a meal with Noxus’s elite including the Du Couteau sisters, Darius, and a few others, I went to the library that Swain granted me access too, and soon discovered that the infamous Talon was watching me. I could also hear a heartbeat in the adjacent room, almost as if watching me. Both Swain and the Black Rose had been watching me. I left a few days later, telling Swain I did not blame him for having me watched, but would not become a part of Noxus or any other nation. Begrudgingly he accepted my departure, but left an open offer. As I thought about Noxus I spoke my thoughts aloud, “After that I think a more….peaceful nation would be refreshing.” I spotted the stream ahead and filled my canteen before placing it back in my bag.. As I stood up to keep down the road I heard several human heartbeats at the edge of my range. “Well,” I said to myself, “Looks like I will have company.” I walked that way, and the people I heard stayed silent and grouped as they were before. As I approached an arching rock formation I saw a man next to a broken cart. The wheel had smashed spokes and the cart was too heavy to apply the spare sitting next to the cart alone. I walked through the arch and the man noticed me. “Hello fellow traveler!” He said, waving and dusting himself off. “Can you spare a moment to help me? My wheel smashed and I can’t put on the spare alone.” He had a friendly face and a voice that was convincing, but I knew better. “Except you aren’t alone.” I said as looking around, raising my voice as I did so. “This area makes a great hiding spot for an ambush. Most people wouldn’t think twice about helping him. But I can hear you. You hearts racing, every breath you take, you tightening your grip on your weapons. So go ahead and come on out.” After a moment around forty men came out from behind the trees. One walked over to the first guy and sat on the cart. He was a little taller than most of the men, and had a blade made of Noxian steel. “You heard us anywhere from five to fifteen meters away? That is quite impressive my friend. My name is Jarid, this is my merry little band. Now, let me give you a rundown of the situation.” He hopped of the cart and started towards me. “One: you join my little group. I could use a man with skills like yours.” “Pass. I work better alone.” I replied, crossing my arms. “Plus staying here is not worth my time.” Jarid was not happy about that one. His mood turned sour. “Two, we take your bag and glasses and you can go. No harm will come to you.” He rested his hand on the butt of his sword. “I’ll take option number three." I uncross arms and ready for a fight. “Jarid, why don’t we just let him go?” The first man said. He wanted to let me go? Maybe there was more to their con man than I first thought. “Why do we have to kill him?” Jarid turned towards him, enraged, “Listen here Tellan, I am in charge here. Now you shut your mouth or we will make that visit to your family.” So they were threatening his family. Jarid turned back to me. “Okay boys. Kill him. Try to leave the glasses and the bag untouched.” “Before you do that, I have two things to say.” I interjected. “First, you really don’t know who you are dealing with, and if any of you want to live, you should leave now. Second,” I looked past Jarid to Tellan, “I’m going to spare you Tellan. Your family will not be worried for you any more when I am through here.” Jarid threw back his head and roared in laughter, as did most of his men. “You think, as one man, you can take on all forty of us?” “I don’t think I can.” I decided to use my speed to dart behind Jarid. “I know I can.” “What the..” Jarid started turn around before I used a sonic blast to punch him about twenty meters through the air, where he collided with a tree. I heard his spine crack just above the waist. He was alive, but he wouldn’t be walking ever again. All of his men looked to their leader, then back to me. I smiled, “Who’s next?” A big one near me charged, swinging a large greatsword. Deadly if it hits, but slow. I dodge the slash and send a sonic blast through his chest, creating a hole where this heart used to be. He crumpled as another two come in with warhammers. Too late to dodge, I create a shield of sonic waves above my head, which the warhammers glance off of. I fire a blast behind me to finish one, launching me at the other as I drive my fist through his stomach. As I landed I pulled my hand out and sighed. Then I heard the arrows being fired. I had been sloppy and gave around ten archers free shots. I couldn’t catch all of them, so I had one option. I created a wave around me and create a constant wall, which all of the arrows glance off of. I then pinpoint the position of every archer and send a sonic blast at each, originating from whatever is closest. As I hear hearts stop beating I drop the shield and look around. About twenty five are left, and half of them look terrified. I gave them their chance. They refused. I fired off weaker blasts at each bandit, sending them towards me. It was time I ended this slaughter. I jumped into the air, sending a blast outward around me that knocked all of them back. As I land I create a blast for each, utterly destroying every man. I stand up and look around. Only two living in the area. I look ever to where Jarid is slumped against a tree. He is somehow still conscious. I walk over to him and get down to one knee. He coughs up blood and looks at me with a mix of fear and hatred. “What the hell are you?” I take off my glasses and look at him with eyes the color of quicksilver. “I don’t know what I am. I don’t know who I am. But I know I am more than you.” I grab hold of his skull, and send a sonic wave into his skull. I hear his brain turn to mush as blood seeps out of his head. I stood up and looked at the previously impressive rock formation. It was completely destroyed, collapsed in the road from the sheer force of my attacks. “Better fix the mess I made.” I took a deep breath so to have better positional control. Destroying with sound is easy. Making things? Not so much. I used blasts to pile the rocks atop one another on either side, creating a pair of columns that looked asymmetrical and not too aesthetically pleasing, but would suffice. I relaxed and turned to leave, only to see Tellan clutching his ears. He was essentially screaming without making a sound. “Crap. Tellan, can you hear me?” Witnessing me fight can be deafening. By sending out a sensory wave, I could tell his inner ear was completely destroyed. I grabbed him and made him look at me before amplifying my voice. “Tellan. Calm down for a moment.” “I CAN’T HEAR ANYTHING BUT YOU! WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?”Tellan screamed. “You are deaf from the sheer volume. I can fix it.” I reached in my bag and pulled out a necklace with a white gemstone on the medallion. When I woke up in the Flats, this was the only thing in the bag. I have no idea how it works, but I know it has healing capabilities. I press the gem to Tellan’s forehead and wait a few seconds. I saw his muscles relax and he dropped his hands. I returned my voice to normal volume. “Are you okay?” I put the medallion back. Tellan looked around then up to me. “I can hear again, if that is what you are asking.” He stood up and took a step back. “Who and what are you?” “My name is Bass. I am…….I’m not sure. I can control sound itself.” To show, I created a small sonic wave in my hand, but created a dampening field around it. “And it doesn’t like being controlled. Sorry about you getting caught in the fight.” “I seem to be fine now, so you are forgiven.” He looked to Jarid and the bandits. “Those men have plagued this area for years. I was only their newest bait. They used people like me to lull travelers into a sense of security before robbing and often killing them. This area is better off without them.” “Good.” I turned to walk away and started down the road. “Wait!” Tellan said, “Where are you going?” “Ionia. Take what you can from the bodies for your family.” I waved without turning to him. “Return to them and enjoy your life in peace.” I then walked down the road. Maybe the rest of the day would be less eventful.
