The Debacle of Championship Riven (yes, another thread about it)

(Apologies if this topic is in the wrong section. Please move it to the appropriate section if necessary.)

So as most of us know, a code bundle was given out to those who attended the Season IV World Finals in Seoul, South Korea. This code bundle included three skins - two of which are Legacy, one of which is Limited. The Legacy skins - Championship Thresh Thresh , Championship Shyvana Shyvana They are Legacy because they were made available specifically around the date of the World Finals, then they are returned to the Legacy Vault until the following year's World Championship. The Limited skin - Championship Riven Riven This one is Limited because of its code only being available to those who watched the Season II World Finals. It was then never made available again, except to those who obtained the codes, and those who essentially threw tons of money at their computer monitors to buy said codes on auction sites, until the codes that still remained were deactivated by Riot 2 years later. New codes are now available due to the Season IV World Finals, but the issue of them being sold for hundreds of dollars on auction sites is still prevalent. And Riot isn't making a single dime from those codes.

The issue here is the availability of the Championship Riven skin. What is so difficult with this? The only reason Riot has going for them to not make the skin available again is "Because it's Limited." For two years, we, the players, have offered what is quite possibly the simplest solution: "Change it from a Limited Skin, to a Legacy Skin."

It is literally that simple, Riot. "The time for talk is over." - Riven The time to take action is now. And I guarantee that our wallets will be ready for the return of Championship Riven.

Please keep all discussion civil.

Apparently they would rather have people spend 300-500$ on Ebay rather then allow people to buy it legitimately.

I'm perfectly fine with CS riven being limited, at least for one to two years more. I've come to accept that, what grinds my gears is the fact that it once again is being sold for an exorbitant amount. Like people are capable of paying off their trips to seoul with these codes, and it's absurd that this is happening. It seems to go against their intention to just give away money like that. Especially when you look at how their new "event exclusive" item was the fist bump ward which has far less demand.

On top of this, CS riven is inherently different from say, PAX jax due to its original distribution and this treatment of the skin still bothers me.

Two years is too much. If League survives another two years with it's current numbers that'd be great, but by that time I'd at least expect Riot to release another Riven skin (Project: Riven / Pool Party Riven) that I'll just lose interest in Championship Riven: guess I'm sticking with Battle Bunny until then.

Fuck you Riot. All you had to do was release her like the other limited skins you did last year.

To be honest i'm hoping Championship Riven stays limited forever. It's what makes the skin so special in my opinion and it's why I love using it so much.

Well if you dig around the internet you'll find posts from rioters in which some say she was never intended as a limited edition but people asked for it and we went with it, other posts that say that she will probably be legacy like the other skins (harrowing for ex) took quite a while to get from limited to legacy but those skins wore advertised as limited from the beginning and riot gave out icons as compensation which I don't think looked to appealing to the people who bought them because they wore limited. And as for ch riven not so many people can say "I bought it because it was limited" because it was really a mess when it came out, as I said in the beginning. I see this problem as unjustified, why keep a skin that people want so bad limited when you could make more money as a company and make the players happy, its totally a win-win, or some rioter please come and tell me otherwise with a damn good explanation.
