Why is Sylas so buff looking?

Are Demacians so "pure" that they won't even lower the rations of a prisoner? This guy looks like he gets 200 Grams of Protein a day, at least! If they really wanted to keep him imprisoned, he would be skinny to the point that they would have to update the chains to fit his skinny malnourished limbs. As far as I have seen, this is guy is chained to the floor for however long, and yet he looks as if he goes to the gym all day every day. Does his magical power also include immunity to atrophy, and a constant, but steady increase to strength? I get it that he might just be flexing within his restraints to gain something, but that brings me back to, "just feed him less" and he won't be able to get swole anymore. This guy is basically a terrorist to them and they don't even notice that he retains his health to the utmost.

Have you ever actually seen a prison population? Everybody in the pen is swole. Ain't shit to do in their but workout and eat. Pushups, situps, weight, running and basketball.

Survival of the fittest, if you ain't fit, you better not own anything of interest, be pretty or have a frowned upon conviction.

Everybody knows Sylas is with the shit, his appearance matches his mentality.

The man couldn't use the chains as a weapon if he didn't have muscles.

Even if he was only average inside the prison, he could have packed on muscle relatively quick, especially considering his ability is copying, and the chains grant him absorption on top of it.

Alternatively, he could have copied an ability that granted him a racial ability benefit some time ago and just remains so small of a budget (since you wouldn't need much mana/energy to facilitate already natural processes) that it remains functioning even within the chains.

In the normal story, Sylas escaped and probably ate more and recovered since he is out of prison now but yeah, in the comic it's weird because yeah he is muscular.

I think it's made for cosmetic purposes, like for selling skins or something like that since Sylas have nice abds to show...

But Demacian champs look ugly for the most. Garen look horrible in the comic, his face is not really beautiful... Jarvan is even worse. When you compare the splash and the comic and the new story about him and Xin zhao, he looks like 40 years old. Xin zhao is asian and asian are beautiful so he is good. He has a good face.

Sylas look not so bad actually. Even tought he is supposed to be older than Jarvan and Garen, he looks like younger than them. His face is normal actually.

But the comics make Jarvan and Garen faces ugly, they look like 40 years old and so different from their splash art.

PS : By the way Sylas ate a lot of rats in prison which is meat after all. That would explain why he is still muscular.

So having to drag around probably 100+ lbs chains every day and eating dem rats woukd nake anyone a little topheavy tbh

A few reasons. Him being muscular makes him read more as a bruiser rather than a squishy in game, but it also makes him look more like a buff prisoner. Big shirtless ripped prisoner has a lot more of a power fantasy than realistic scrawny prisoner. Making him scrawny might also make him read more like a thief or drug addict than a dangerous terrorist. And honestly if you made him very scrawny his gauntlets and collar would have to be smaller which would hurt his design more as they are major elements that need to be big.

Most importantly though he needs to be physically charismatic to really sell his charismatic revolutionary fantasy.
